Japan-ASEAN Ship-Rider Cooperation Program

The Japan Ministry of Defense/Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force conducted its first Japan-ASEAN Ship-Rider Cooperation Program on board JS IZUMO cruising at international waters surrounding Singapore from June 19 to 23.
Consistent with the guiding principles of the “Vientiane Vision,” the program, inviting all ASEAN member states and the ASEAN Secretariat, helped contribute to regional stability by providing opportunities for participants to build mutual understanding and professional networks, enhance capabilities related to maritime security and share understanding of international maritime law.
