- The Fight That ALMOST KILLED Frank Bruno
He was one of Britain’s most electrifying boxers-a muscular, regular guy, a pantomime star, and everyone’s favorite underdog who, against all odds, finally reached the pinnacle by becoming the heavyweight champion of the world. But Bruno’s reign lasted only six minutes…
Today, we’re diving into the brutal fight that buried Frank Bruno’s career, revealing all the gritty details of his famous bout against Mike Tyson-a savage showdown in 1996 that left Bruno with a fractured left cheekbone and on the brink of losing his sight, among other things...

In fairness to Bruno, all his knockout losses were to fighters with legitimate knockout punching power. Bone crusher, Witherspoon, Tyson (twice) Lewis. Varying degrees of talent and ability, but all knockout punchers.
His second effort against Tyson was a disgraceful performance.
He did so much big talk, saying what he was going to do to Tyson. Then he spent the entire fight sh@tting his shorts whilst desperate to survive. It was a pathetic effort that he shouldn't have been paid for.
if someone didn't dig Oliver's grave in frank bruno fight probably he would confront against tyson 😢 we have been deprived from magnificent match
But god bless him he won the title he deserved
He was a dead man walking for that second fight against Tyson. I predicted Tyson would win the title again within one year after coming out of prison, he did it after 51 weeks. Nothing and I mean nothing was stopping Tyson getting that title back. I was proved correct.
Evander Holyfield stopped him and Lennox Lewis would have too.
Then lost it again a few months to Holyfield
@@holywarrior96 That's not the point I was making
@@JamesMuirhead-cw3ik I was referring to Tyson not losing to Bruno to regain the belt
Tyson is the most overrated boxer.
Keep them coming. You always have great videos.
thanks 🙏
What's your favorite fight in Frank Bruno's career, and why is it special to you?
I think, McCall & Lennox. I think until he walked into that left hook he was beating Lewis.
Tyson is what happens when you take a psycho and put gloves on
Frank was a good fighter not a great one but as stated his weak chin let him down
Bruno had a detached retina way before the second Tyson fight. Possibly even the first. Facts.
there was something amiss with bruno, apparent during the ring walk. during the fight his trainer was abusing him for not trying. anyone know wot happened?
I think he just froze up. After the first loss, he was just scared of Tyson even though his own skills had increased and Tyson was on the slide.
@foundfoundfound1 Bruno said he'd rather fight Lennox Lewis every day of the week than Tyson once on Sunday. Honestly, as the poster above noted he was just petrified of him. Nigel Benn said Bruno just stared at the floor when he went to the dressing room to give him a pep talk.
Bruno wanted to just win the title and retire. It was an obligation of his title shot that he was to defend against Tyson.
Unfortunately Frank had no survival instinct when he got hit his guard dropped and he didn't know what to do
Bruno was good but not great. Todays equivalent at heavyweight would be a Joseph Parker or Daniel Dubois.
Who wins prime bruno v Anthony Joshua in his prime
I still say Mike tyson would be unbeaten if that Don King went😮
Anthony Joshua = Frank Bruno.
Where is the lost to Bone rusher in this video?
Bruno should have worn a nappy for this fight, because he looked like he was going to soil himself during his ring walk and staredown.
glass jaw lewis😂
No chin at all
Tyson was never the same after gold digger Robyn Givens had finished with him!
❤
Bruno just didn’t have a heavyweight chin. He was a great fighter but he just couldn’t take big shot. That’s what always did him in
Frank's chin was granite ! He only ever lost to champions or future world champions - Witherspoon, Bonecrusher, Lennox and Tyson. And only Bonecrusher put him on the floor, the others couldn't manage it. At what point does the myth of Bruno not having a chin ever end ?
You would have been better off saying that he didn't know how to grab and hold when he was hurt, THAT is true, not the perpetuating the myth about his chin.
Ok. Lets see you take shots from a prime Mike Tyson..
Bruno had a decent chin; what he didn't have was great stamina, nor the ability to improvise under pressure.
When he got into a pressure situation, he tightened up and got anxious, thus leading to him becoming exhausted.
@@johnny5805 He has a chin for sure but to Tyson didn't floor him? He almost knocked him outside the ring, the ropes held him up...
panto frank😂mike tyson fought frank, dodging tua😮
first :) gj thx 4 content
If Bruno was brave against tyson
