    It was of course built to defend the city, then the city grew outwards and the castle remained in the centre. (And it's not a Viking age castle or fortress.) To help the pronuciation, think of it as Aker's House (hoos).
    The flag is a modified Danish flag (with is from the 1200s) whose design was first suggested in 1821; the British flag is from 1707 (Act of union between England and Scotland) and last modified in 1801. The French is from about 1789, and the Swedish flag has its roots in the 1500s. The age of the Norwegian flag isn't really that impressive.
    The climate in the Viking age (793 to 1066 approx) was warmer than it is now, but the Vikings still know how to make warm clothes (skins, furs, woven cloths); they were sufficiently clothed.

    It’s actually kinda dangerous to go there cuz it’s haunted and if u see a dog (ghost thing) that means ur going to die someday in that year. 😅

      It was built as a castle
