    Waaait... Dessert dinosaurs?!?! now why didn't I think of that? I love dinosaurs & I've drawn dessert dogs (ok, they were ice cream themed, but still...).
    ugh, I love them! and the Mosasaurus was an excellent choice! 💙

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aww! Thank you so much! Honestly, Dessert dinos sounds much better than pie mosasaurus! But the Dino kid in me won’t allow me to call this lil guy a dinosaur 😂 Because teeeechnically they’re a marine reptile, not a dinosaur and I can’t force myself to call them an actual dinosaur!😂 But maybe in the future I’ll do some TRUE dessert dinos!😄💛
      (Also, dessert dogs are also adorable! Icecream themed??? I love it!)

      @@sewmicah You're welcome! Haha I get that! I do forget sometimes that it's different (I don't remember the big guy in any of our dino/prehistoric critter-type books we had as kids - there was at least one that covered more than just dinos, I remember that much, lol) but I'd be here for it if you did do some dessert dinos!
      they were so fun to create & when I'm better at plushies, I'm definitely making plush versions of them 💙

      @@TeddyAtTheCreativeNook Thanks so much! I’d love to have you here for them!
      It’s totally easy to forget or never learn in the first place! I was just BIG into dinosaurs as a kid (multiple encyclopedias, memorizing dinosaur names and meanings, begging to go to dinosaur museums, etc.) so it would’ve been odd if I DIDN’T know!😂 But I love them all the same! All the dinos and non-dinos are all so neat!
      I bet your ice cream dogs would be adorable as plushies! Popsicle pups could be a super cute name if you included popsicles along with ice cream! All sorts of frozen treats!😁💛

      @@sewmicah Always!
      So true! I love finding about new dinos & extinct species and they're finding new ones all the time, which is so cool!
      I hope so, lol (the bubblegum flavoured one is going to be tricky to figure out but, hopefully I'll get there)
      Oh, now that's a neat idea! 💙

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right!? And not only finding new ones but also finding out more about old ones! Like how we’ve learned so much more about Spinosaurus that it looks TOTALLY different than how we thought it did when I was a kid! And while that can be sad if you came to love a dinosaur that didn’t ever look like that, but it’s also super cool that we keep learning new things every day! It’s like a mystery! You may have one suspect at the start of the day but it changes as you get more evidence!
      Oooo, we love a bubblegum themed anything! Always super cute no matter what one decides to do with it! So I’m sure it’ll turn out great!!!💛

    Ahhh!! They’re so cute!! 😭🥧 As someone that also endures the cold weather, we get the “warm snack” need here! I also LOVE the texture!! Working with faux fur is hell for me personally, but it’s always so fun to see how it turns out! Love the originals! I hope you get more support with them!

      Aw!!! Thank you so much!!! You’re too sweet! Thankfully since recording all this it’s gotten much warmer! Feels like a heatwave here hanging around in the high 30s!😂
      Working with fur is 100% hell for me too😂 I just can’t stop using it! The plushies always look and feel so good with fur! It’s so hard not to give myself fur based projects like this!!!
      Thank you so so much again! I hope so too!😅💛🤞🏽

      @@sewmicah Right!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫 The other week it was around 50 out it’s wild! And yeah that’s fair. Sometimes minky is my fav alternative but some of is so hard to manage bc of how stretchy it is 😂 At least some faux fur has the decency to stay in place lol

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aw, man! I’d LOVE some 50 degree weather!!!😍
      I WISH my fur stayed in place! The fur I use is EXTREMELY slippery! It’s SO silky soft which makes for amazing plushies! But also means it’s IMPOSSIBLE to keep in place. (Which is why I have holes in my fur projects so often!) Fur and mochi minky can be little devils for sure! But my regular minky stays in place SUPER well and is so easy to work with compared to the other two! I’m not sure what the technical name for it is but it’s the Shannon minky no.3 that’s really nice to work with! Obviously not the cheapest option out there, but not too bad!

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aw! Thank you so much!!! I’m glad you like my work! And thank you for clarifying! So many people ask, beg, and demand that I sell or give out my patterns and it can be so overwhelming when I typically don’t do that.😅
      I do give out patterns on my Patreon now but they’re more simple beginner patterns than anything like I make here on the channel.😅💛
      Surprisingly enough, it is REALLY hard and time consuming to write instructions for a pattern! Like, I know how to use it perfectly fine! I’m the one who made it! But having to break it down into tiny little steps for someone else? Especially someone who potentially doesn’t already know how patterns work??? SO difficult!😂

      @@sewmicah That's totally fine! And trust me I do know, it's the one thing holding me back from selling my own patterns. XD I wanna do it some day, but it's daunting. Totally understandable if you don't want to do it!

    You're working pretty hard on these vids! Lot of polish on them. With Palworld coming out, you should probably do a plush. If they get to rip off Pokemon to the tune of outselling Pokemon: Arceus, I think it's okay if you ride their tailfins for a few more views.
    I love Pyrin Noct, what a plush he'd make! But there's a lot of simple ones.

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well thank you so much!😁💛 Unfortunately I’m not currently taking suggestions for videos, but thanks for the heads up! When it comes to making fanart I really only make things I or close friends or family want since I can’t sell them due to copyright and I can’t give them away because I don’t make any money off these videos right now.😅 So anything I can’t sell needs to be something I’m super into or someone I personally know is super into so they can have the plush for a birthday or holiday so it doesn’t go to waste!😁💛
      I do hope to open up suggestions to my patrons again once I have enough income from these videos that I can give away big detailed plushies like these though!😁 It’s just kinda a waiting game for me at this point! I put all my effort into these videos and all I can do is hope that the lovely viewers like yourself like it enough and interact with my work enough that TH-cam sees me as someone worth showing to more people and, eventually, throwing a few coins at.😅 Once that happens and I have enough coming in, I’d LOVE to do big plushie giveaways and take suggestions from patrons and viewers alike!😁💛

    This looks AMAZING!! I’ve always wanted to become a plushie maker 🥹 where did you begin learning? I don’t even know where to starttt

    • @sewmicah
      @sewmicah  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aw! Thank you so much!!!
      As for where I started learning…? Well, technically I didn’t? I just started trying to make patterns and plushies and learned as I went.😅 I did watch a single video on what a dart was a couple weeks into trying to make plushies but that was about it.🫣 Sorry! I know that isn’t much help!
      It probably helped that I had been doing art related things since I was a kid and working on character design since I was 15 or so.😅
      My best advice for people starting out is to study what you want to make! Get out a plush you like the look of and really pay attention to the seams and what flat shapes are used to make the 3D shape of the plush!
      At this point, if I can draw it, I can sew it. Keeping that in mind, I’d say learning to draw things in a 3D space would help a ton too! One could also go the 3D modeling route, but that takes a lot more equipment than a pencil and paper!
      So to put it all into simpler terms, the way I learned was by studying the plushies I had, making sure I could draw what I wanted to make in a 3D space (making turn arounds and whatnot!) then just going for it! Drawing out what I thought would look right on some paper, cutting it out and using it as my pattern for a prototype!
      It will NOT look the way you want it to right away if you have as detailed and complex dreams as I did when I first started, but as you create, you will learn! Just inherently by making mistakes and things not working the way you want them to! You’ll have to problem solve and engineer solutions. That’s how I did it and how I still look at it now!
      I’m sure there’s other ways to look at it and learn how to do what I do, but that is how I did it! 😅 Just remember that there is no “being ready” to start creating. You can do all the research and all the learning, but you’ll never quite feel “ready” to take that leap and make something for the first time. It’s something you kind of just have to force yourself to do even if you feel like it won’t turn out perfect which, let’s be honest, it probably won’t! My prototypes don’t turn out perfect either! Just be ready and willing to make mistakes, for things to turn out wrong or off. That’s part of the learning process and 100% necessary to learning how to avoid those mistakes in the future!
      Ah, okay, but I’ve been rambling for far too long! Sorry about that!😅 I wish you luck on your sewing journey and I hope you have all the fun in the process!💛
