I skipped all the way through it. Lol. It's amazing that a band can write something so dark and moody like 'Silo' and then completely go away from that. They could've been really good at that type of music.
@@dumpsterfire79 Agree. This era of Citizen is so good and much better imo. Love their old stuff too but when I see them live all I want to hear is the new stuff.
@christianfernandez5717 I'll be honest, I found out about them because "the night I drive alone" kept popping up in my Spotify Playlist ( might have been brand new or a similar band). I wasn't a fan, so I never thought to dig deeper into their discography. Eventually a song from life in your glass world was recommended, and I liked it and was surprised it was by the same guys. Listened to the whole album, and enjoyed it. Then I listened to Calling the dogs, and I absolutely loved it. I also really like As you please. Not a big fan of Everyone is going to heaven. But yeah, I guess it's the fact that I found about them within the last year that I don't hold such a fondness for their earlier stuff and much prefer their newer stuff.
This band just created an emo sub-genre which is way deeper than emo. An emo that is not cringe to listen to but a relatable one. Great, fresh songs. Youth and Young States were the best albums but I'm sad that they switched genres so fast after that.
White boys created nothing lol emo has existed for 50 years. Magnolia Park is innovators not these sad white boys with more money and racism than your daddys.
They got tired of being such downers at their live shows and just wanted to have more fun with music. Why isn’t “As You Please” in your list though? I feel like that one perfected what Youth and Young States were going for.
Really want to hear "Dogs (Scooby-Doo version)" now
Awesome interview. I also really love the instrumentals playing in the background, I wish I could hear all of them that way
Every song on this album slaps
Loved this!!!
thank you for coming singapore in 2024 citizen
There are no skips on this album

@@kentrey sorry ur brain is so small lol
@kentrey they've written 3 albums in a row that all sound the same, it's about time they changed direction. The brooding emo stuff is getting old.

@@loansharks47 Agreed about As You Please, what a masterpiece. Happy for them
I miss 2013 Citizen. Youth is the best album
Love Citizen - going to see them in Roseville in less than a week - but their new stuff is mid.
See you there. I hope they play a bunch of their classics. Favorite album is “everybody is going to heaven”
@@owelyin7010 I hope so, too. Say hi when you’re there.
P.s. I don’t have a favorite - love all their albums - just minus the last two.
its not great
what's not great?
@@taylorh4480 calling the dogs, their newest album
