hi, everyone who watches this video needs to understand that although it looks like you know what you are doing, there are many things wrong with this repair video.
therefore i strongly suggest cross referencing other soldering repair videos to get a good idea of the process before undertaking a repair like this.

Great!! Didn't work 1st time so tried again with the usb plugged in before I re-attached the battery like suggested, then hey presto!!! It works!
Many thanks for this super video.

you put too much presure with the tweezers on the port when you were removing it, you could ve damaged the solder pads. or maybe you did damage one ? check the third solder pad (of the data transfer connection) from the right ... 5:37

Mohamed Yazid Chala Correct, it appears when he ripped off that port...he also pulled off the pad.

+254Repair Killeen I use a larger nozzle in the hot air gun take the old port port and drop the new charging port at the same time while you pointing the hot air, all what you need is a tweezers, no need for soldering tip just a bit of flux and its done, takes 3 min, try it you will see.

Hi. Can you tell me where you got the film or tape that you wrapped around the PCB before desoldering the port? Also, where did you get the round white grid from that you "pinned" the circuit board to? That is quite interesting. Thank you for your help!

Is it possible to replace the whole board with the charging port? or does the board contain the memory too?

Why can't we just disconnect the battery and reconnect first, let's see if that works.
Could you recommend where I can purchase that small electrical component?

Yikes. 4:44 when you ripped the port off the board: that was painful to watch. I wouldn't recommend you advertise your process until you're actually doing a good job. People don't need to learn it the wrong way.

I have this tab sm-t330 and it requieres the same process for repair, also I have a galaxy tab pro 8.4 sm-t320 same problem,. I'll recommend forgetting about sm-t330 and getting a tab pro sm-t320, I have done the repalcement of the charging port, you just disconnect the charging port and reconnect the new one, nothing else. besides tab pro sm-t320 has twice the processing power and way better quality for videos and photos than sm-t330 and is a little bit bigger. so i don't think i'ts worth fixing the sm-t330,

I'd just install the charging port on my tab3 without breaking any pads... tools you needs( heat gun set to 310 degree, Flux , soldering gun magnifier glass and lots of patients and praying too.. that helps.. and it works..

I do not have that steady hand I would destroy the PCB for real.
Any chance I can just replace the whole PCB with the port already attached?
    Off to eBay I go.
    I know if I do it myself I'd save a wack-of-cash
Just don't have that steady hand, I am old you see... LOL
