The restaurant was renovated after the Tsunami. After . Brewer sold the resort ( Golf course, restaurant) to Sazale it was operating. Sazale sold the resort to Roberts Hawaii and this is the end result almost 20 years of neglect. Wish you got your facts straight.
Thanks for the new info. Sorry, I could not find much info on the web about all this. Glad to hear about life after the tsunami. I have been looking for video or images of the restaurant, knowing that it was reopened, will allow me to expand my search. Aloha
Thanks for the info. I’m parked behind it right this minute and was wondering what when why. It’s a stunning layout , deserves to be rebuilt. The roof is made of fiberglass?
It is fiberglass. I believe there are plans to turn the parking into a marketplace. Wish I could find video of what the restaurant looked like in its hay day.
No, but there are many interesting sites around the area. Some of the background came from old newspaper articles. The artist Herb Kane is one of my favorite Hawaii artist, and I have books and some one line resources that were helpful.
I remember celebrating my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary here in 1984 and went a few times after that in the late 80's.
What a magical place to celebrate. Thanks for sharing your story about this gem. Aloha from Hawaii.
Thanks for posting this video!

Great video Matt! Did you film anything else around the area? Where did you get all the background info?

Sad
It was pretty emotional reading about the whole store. Had to try hard to keep my composure.
@@Mauirunner I wonder why someone hasn’t ever done anything with the place, or cleaned it up at all.
