    Nice video. The high price of oil has crossed my confidence boundary and so i’m dumping oil for the most part. Home heating will now be wood, heat pump and electric. I’m in Canada. Not just the cost, but all the negative politics associated with oil, too. I like that with a little elbow grease I can take the power back against inflation. Like most people my pay hasn’t increased at the rate of inflation, so it’s good to get creative. Thanks for your video.

    I hope you don't mind my saying, but I think you're making this much harder work than it needs to be. For a start, the paper doesn't need to be ready for paper mashie. Just sufficiently wet to stick together. 15 minutes is plenty. And it doesn't need to be torn into little pieces. Whole sheets are fine - Ok tear into half if really big - but A4 is ok. I also found it helpful to lay a piece at the edges to wrap the contents. I hope that's helpful. Simon T

      There are a few options it depends on how fast you need them,
      1. Going long term and start making them in the spring and leave in a dry place like a green house to use in the winter
      2. If making them in the winter you could place them next to your fireplace to dry out.

    • @CamoPrepper
      @CamoPrepper 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fred Creedy Agreed you could just set fire to paper however doing this way the briquettes itself burn longer far longer then just throwing paper in. And storing them would be far easier too as you would need more newspaper for one briquette

    • @fredcatcreedy980
      @fredcatcreedy980 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CamoPrepper it's much easier to store the newspaper as it is, with the duel benefit that it can be used both as a fuel and emergency toilet roll.

    • @CamoPrepper
      @CamoPrepper 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fred Creedy who doesn’t need toilet roll especially in the toilet roll pandemic we had a few months ago might see a second wave soon lol. All joking aside I can not deny that newspaper can and does have dual uses like stuffing plastic bags with it to make a pillow or emergency bedding. It can be tucked into your clothing for warmth or even wrapped up to make a pot for your seedlings the list is endless. Space wise the baguettes are compact and you would get more into an area then you would loose paper though. This method was shown to give people an idea of reusing something that would generally be thrown into the bin but rather being seen to be used for one of the important things for survival that is fire or warmth.
      Going back to loo roll know it’s off topic for the video but always love a conversation and discussion on preparation and survival. You can also use other things for loo roll as well moss being one of them, a flannel or cloth or a sponge on a stick which can be re used and I even heard back in the very old ways people used a cob from the corn to clean themselves with.
      Would I generally carry them with me if I’m bugging out or going to camp no of course not may use a smaller version soaked in wax instead for a fire starter. But love the concept of using something for free.
      Best regards
      John

      Fred Creedy I heard that too expect a few people have in honesty. I have been told this is some sort of preparation for something big to make sure the general public listen and obey commands. COVID is real I believe but again what I have personally seen it’s just a case of the mild flu. I’m not preparing for COVID I’m preparing what may come next civil unrest or even war especially how everything is being put towards China that they have done this or that you could say they are preparing civilians a reason for the west to go to war. But that’s my opinion and has no fact at this time.

The waiting time for the paper to become wet enough in my area it takes roughly 24 hours and then 12 hours for each briquette to be dried but if you life in a hot climate and make the paper more small ie a paper shredder then the waiting times would decrease. if it would of taken me 5 hours work time with the burn time you get out of these i would think of other avenues of making it.
