    Love it! Well done! Your ability to deliver fact based oration without notes is great. Seems you could blow up doing something more heady like philosophy or something too. Thanks for this node cache help though. Big help.

    Best video about the render color. Over time I have realized that the best thing is the cache. Even better than proxies. In real time I modify any effect. I use Dehance a lot and I always have the render color on. Thanks.

    Helpful but I'm not sure it going to solve my issue. I'm editing a video podcast and I have 3 video tracks that are very long and shot in log2. I applied color grade and noise reduction to each clip on each track. Obviously this is making playback very difficult. I try to render each clip on each track to using right click and "render cache color output" but every time I disable a track to I can view the one below it, when I turn it back on it has to re-render the whole clip again. Why does disabling it make it re-render? Its for a podcast so I have to make sure the video tracks line up with my audio before making a multiclip. I'm new to Resolve so I have to be doing something wrong. Is there another command I can use to view clips on lower tracks without disabling them?

    Should I keep render cache color output on in addition when using node rendering?

    Very helpful. Thanks! I am pretty new at DaVinci. Would you mind explaining (or point me to a prior video) the difference between Smart vs User modes in the render cache menu choices?

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, I'm late seeing this cooment! Sorry about that.
      User as you can see in this video triggers the rendering of cache media based on user defined parameters.
      Smart has a predetermind list if you will, of things that if they are present, the rendering will automatically trigger.
      For example if set to smart and you add noise reduction, Resolve will automatically start rendering the cache as noise reduction on on the list.
      Sometimes things don't automatically trigger becuase Resolve guesses incorrectly that your system can handle the load by itself when in fact it can't. I never personally never use smart as in my experience its not actually that smart!

      @@FilmResolved thanks for the reply. Better late than never, right?
      I think I have had mine set to Smart all along, and I will concur that it is not very ‘smart’. Seems it never renders when I expect it should have. Guess I’ll switch it to ‘User’ going forward. Thanks again.

    Great video. Subscribed. Am still new to Davinci; does the render cache color output or the node cache help reduce the final render/export time?

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the render settings there is a “use render cached images” option. If this is enabled you’ll have faster render times. th-cam.com/video/Yf4QEyPi1GM/w-d-xo.html

    This was very helpful . Is there any similar thing as node cache in fusion page also ? so that i can manually take control of render while working in fusion

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The closest thing I am aware of is on the edit page, right click the fusion clip you want to cache, and there is an option "Render Cache Fusion Output". Turn this to "On". When render cache is set to "User" this will force the clip to render to cache. Hope that helps!

    That was really useful to know about nodes, especially with noise reduction. Before watching this, I applied noise reduction and then turned the node off so that I could continue with my project without the hassle of stuttering playback.
    And when it came time to render, sometimes I'd forget to turn the nodes back on and waste time having to re render.

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frank, I have done that countless times!

      @@FilmResolved Realising I could just turn the NR node off and enable it later when exporting was a major life moment for me and many others i'm sure.

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Girafingo If you’re working on a project with lots of clips try grouping these clips and adding the denoiser to a pre-group clip node. that way you only have to re-enable one node! wont work for every situation but worth keeping in mind!

  • @HumzaYousafFilms
    @HumzaYousafFilms 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    so if we add Denoise node at the end of our grade and apply node cache to it..and then later we do changes prior to cached node, will it be of any use? vs render color cache output

    • @FilmResolved
      @FilmResolved  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it won’t in that situation but FYI, you’re really meant to add noise reduction to the first node 👍

    • @nicksneider5463
      @nicksneider5463 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FilmResolved This is because NR changes color values of individual pixels, so if you ad NR at the end (after your white balance) your colors will change as well.

    Love your content but your music levels are really fighting your content. I’d rather have no music and just hear what you’re saying than listen for 10 minutes in its current form. Maybe drop music to -18-22db when talking.

  • @glen-draketoolworks7186
    @glen-draketoolworks7186 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just drop the music all together when you are talking. You would never find background music in a classroom, i.e. someplace where people are trying to learn something. Detours should also be avoided, e.g. what the hell is CineMatch? I know now, but it caused a hiccup. On the plus side, your sans-BS presentation is very much appreciated as is the content.
