(Dude-Ness). Your reaction is the exact same reaction us old farts had the first time hearing it. Boston’s first few albums were done with zero computer. All analog tape. All the cuts and pasting was done with a razor blade on 4” tape reels. “More than a feeling”, as others have suggested is definitely the best second song. Delps vocals are especially epic on that. The first two albums every song is good. No filler or fluff. Historic albums. I’m glad it hit you like it hits us. 👍🏻
We grew up with this being new music on the radio. The 70's gave us the best rock. Bands debut album and every song was a hit . almost unheard of! I'm 66 and still rockin every day! Keeps you young at heart! Not many bands music gets that great a reaction 50 years after it was made.
Tom sholz was an MIT grad who invented electronics and recording techniques and recorded this album in his basement while working for Polariod ( camera company). All vocal lead and backing is the greatest rock singer, Brad Delp.
We grew up with it, now we get to live vicariously through you, listening to it for the first time. They are 2 separate songs. Back in the day, you could call the radio station and talk to the DJ or engineer and request a song. They got so many requests for these 2 songs, they played them together. 🤷♂
Must do whole album, EVERY!!!! song on the album was a Radio hit. More then a feeling, Peace of mind, Rock and roll band, Smokin, Hitch a ride, Something about you,Let me take you home tonight. You will love every song guaranteed, and they're all feel good songs.
Agree, the entire album is amazing. I would tell him to put the tape in his car and play it on a road trip. But nobody really does tapes, eh? I'm not even sure people listen to entire albums anymore. Wait, do we still call them albums?
Such a delight that you are not stopping the songs every 20 seconds...love your expressions as the song plays. Well done, sir. So glad your reaction to the foreplay...some people hate the foreplay aspect, and I get it...but you appreciated it for what it was meant to do.
It doesn't matter that you weren't born when this album came out or not it's just awesome that thanks to recording we can all still enjoy it 👍🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💯
Get out of school, roll down the windows, pop in the 8-track, and listen to the organ opening “Foreplay.” I’m glad I went to high school in the late ‘70s, early ‘80s.
Now you’re hearing REAL music played by real, talented guys, young man! Zeppelin at the top, Boston, the Animals, Hendrix, the Eagles… we had it all and now you can enjoy it all. I love watching you. This song in my humble opinion, represented our generation. The culmination of all our music.
Albums were experiences. One of your friends bought an album and everyone went over to hear them start to finish while checking out the album covers. I'm sure somebody already said that the spaceships on the cover art are guitars.
"More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Feelin Satisfied", "Something About You", "It's Easy", "Rock & Roll Band", "Hitch A Ride", That will get you started. Every single song on their first 2 albums are epic.
You have hit the jackpot today with the three songs you reviewed.Im a little envious at how it all feels for you.Im 73 and heard these things fifty or more years. They still get my attention but I remember first time hearing and yelling Holy S...t
I'm 60 and it's fun watching you react the hits my generation grew up with long before computers and cell phones. Want more Boston, check out "More than a Feeling". You seem to like great vocal harmonies. I hope you check out the band Styx. You remind me of my 24 y.o. son who I couldn't get interested in my rock. Living it vicariously through you. LOL
Closest thing to a perfect rock album, ever. And I'm not even a huge fan of them. But the next song of theirs you should do would have to be "More Than a Feeling". Brad Delp's vocals on that song are incredible.
Hey brother. I'm digging your reactions to classic rock. You hear this guy sing?? Brad DELP was his name, my he rest in peace!! One of the GREATEST VOICES EVER.
I was 11 years old when this came out in 1976- this music is damn near 50 years old and sounds as fresh today as it did when it first ripped the airwaves
Young reactors always thank us for choosing songs that you guys then end up really liking, sometimes implying that we're carefully picking songs tailored just for you guys, but we don't really have to do much choosing because these songs were really, really popular and all over the radio back in the sixties, seventies, and eighties (this one's from 1976). They're in our heads already. We don't have to do no research to find them or nothing.
You just opened the Boston pandora's box; welcome. You'll notice the space ships on their album covers are guitars, string-side down. I always thought it was cool. My favorite Boston song is Don't Look Back ... you'll love it.
Boston was the first band I ever saw in concert back in the fall of 1978 with a few college buddies. Sammy Hagar (whom I didn't know at the time) warmed up for them and put on a good show. Then the stage was dark for about 15 minutes while roadies changed out the equipment. Then Boston opened up with "Rock And Roll Band" which is kind of the story about the band's rise to fame. The place went crazy. In addition to that one, I also recommend "Smokin'". Both rockin' tunes.
Most of us who were teenagers or young adults when this album was released were absolutely blown away by many of the songs on this debut album, and by the album as a whole. Also, the first song we heard from the album was not this one, but rather "More Than A Feeling"--which the general audience strongly considers the best song on the album, and arguably Boston's best song. I generally agree with the comments others have made here. For example, it is one of the best debut albums ever, and one of the best albums released in the 1970s, and even one of the best rock albums of all time.
Glad you like it! I played music all the time when my kids were growing up, they all liked the music of that time. Really liked when we danced, great times
🤔Tom went to MIT, Brian May (Queen) is an Astrophysicist & Neil Peart (Rush) is called The Professor for a reason. 🤯 Nerds took over the World & 🤭 we didn't see it coming. 😁🥰🐰
3 days late. This is a top 3 rock songs of all time IMO. I'm a 70s kid and this album was king. More Than A Feeling by Boston is my all time favorite song. Love that young quality people are listening and appreciating classic rock.
In my opinion this is the best DEBUT album ever made. Full of positive energy throughout. ANY SONG on this album is fire! Triumph is another great positive feeling band. #fightthegoodfight #magicpower
So cool how these reaction videos make me truly appreciate songs that were just common to me back in the day (probably because they got so much air play on the radio at the time).
Listen to the whole album, you will be blown away. Just like I was when I first heard this album in 1976. Definitely check out “Smokin”, you will love the keyboards.
No laptops. No computers. No auto-tune. Just one musical and engineering genius by the name of Tom sholz who caught lightning in a bottle when he added Bradley delp, who had one of the finest rock voices in history. The entire first album is fire, but for my money hitch a ride is the best song out on that album and Boston's best song overall. You should check it out It has what some call the finest guitar solo ever.
This is one of those songs that reminds me of The limits of digital recording. Hearing this on vinyl is a different experience. But I am very grateful you are keeping the music alive👍
I'm surprised that there aren't more requests here for "More Than a Feeling.," probably their most popular song of all. Probably a lot of aficionados of Boston who appreciate some of the less well-known songs--even if quite well-known and appreciated by most anybody. If you're looking now at 60s and 70s rock, one of the absolute essentials are the Rolling Stones. With a big recommendation for "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Gimme Shelter."
#FunFact Led Zeppelins Heartbreaker (song 1) went with Livin' Lovin Maid (song 2). You had to own the Album to see it was 2 separate songs as they played both on the 📻 as "1 song". 🥰🐰
* @MDreeezy * I'm glad someone recommended this piece to you and I love how you loved it. I grew-up on this, and most of the stuff you have been reacting to. This is the intro number to the soundtrack I'm having played at my memorial service when I "move on." You're a cool young dude, Bro, and I believe (like me) you were born out of your time, and it is GREAT to witness! Rock on with your bad self, and enjoy the ride - it's shorter than you think so make sure it's intense.
Boston, while not as prolific as some bands from the same era, what they did put out will live forever, constantly being discovered through the generations. Almost 50 years later and it's still gathering new fans. Do you think in 50 years anyone will care about the dross being made in the last 20 years?
Now i know why this is called Foreplay🎸
No shit. Literally musical foreplay.
Btw. Chuck Berry is the father of rock n roll. Johnny B Goode. Live 1957?
Biggest selling debut album of all time - for obvious reasons. Every track is a gem.
(Dude-Ness).
Your reaction is the exact same reaction us old farts had the first time hearing it. Boston’s first few albums were done with zero computer. All analog tape. All the cuts and pasting was done with a razor blade on 4” tape reels.

One of the best debut albums ever. Every song on it is great. I love Hitch A Ride.

This was their debut album that they recorded in their basement !! A FANTASTIC ALBUM!
It doesn't matter that you weren't born when this album came out or not it's just awesome that thanks to recording we can all still enjoy it 👍🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💯
Brings back memories. I remember we had this album in the seventies. I'm glad I grew up with this fantastic music! 🎶🎶😍👍
You won't be disappointed with any song from this album.
Dude,,,,welcome to the world of classic rock. The '60's, '70's and '80's were great for music. 💥💥💥👍😎 The louder,,,the better. 🤪
Get out of school, roll down the windows, pop in the 8-track, and listen to the organ opening “Foreplay.” I’m glad I went to high school in the late ‘70s, early ‘80s.

This album has the distinct honor of being the first number one album by a new artist. Every song is exceptional!
Classic rock at it's absolute finest!
"More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Feelin Satisfied", "Something About You", "It's Easy", "Rock & Roll Band", "Hitch A Ride", That will get you started. Every single song on their first 2 albums are epic.
You have just experienced one of the Top Ten rock songs ever written and played.
Best Debut Album of All time. Period.
You have hit the jackpot today with the three songs you reviewed.Im a little envious at how it all feels for you.Im 73 and heard these things fifty or more years. They still get my attention but I remember first time hearing and yelling Holy S...t
This was a turning point for rock music(1976) I was 15 yrs old… Top 5 vocalists of all time who took his own life many years later 😢
My second year in college, 1977, if you walked the halls of my dorm, you would hear this album playing somewhere, 24/7. It was huge!!
boston just tapped into the seventies like something that just can't be explained.
Best debut for an American rock and roll band. Saw them 7 times.
This whole album rocks!! Enjoy!!
LOL
The whole album is still being played on the classic rock stations!
HELL YEAH!!!...You found one of the BEST!!
This man’s reaction to GREAT music from so long ago is AWESOME!
Closest thing to a perfect rock album, ever. And I'm not even a huge fan of them. But the next song of theirs you should do would have to be "More Than a Feeling". Brad Delp's vocals on that song are incredible.
Brad Delp was one of the most under rated rock singers of that era.
First rock album I bought. I was 12. Listened to it endlessly. Been rockin' ever since. ❤
I have cassette for this album!
Most Definitely 💯
"More than a feeling" should be the next song from Boston, you will love it !!!!
Hey brother. I'm digging your reactions to classic rock. You hear this guy sing?? Brad DELP was his name, my he rest in peace!! One of the GREATEST VOICES EVER.
Young man, your smile when listening to great music is f**ing PRICELESS!
I was 11 years old when this came out in 1976- this music is damn near 50 years old and sounds as fresh today as it did when it first ripped the airwaves
As a GenX'er this is the music we grew up listening to I'm so glad the younger generation is seeing that its just as amazing as we did back then.
A masterpiece!!!!

Every song on the first Boston album is amazing. It's the only Debut album that's also a greatest hits album.

More Boston! Read up on how this album was recorded, you'll be even more impressed.
Nice. Top debut album, sophomore yr in HS. We all had this. Every song is fire. Smokin is my fav.

Best Album!!!
Brad Delp of Boston, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, and the incomparable Steve Perry of Journey were the trifecta of vocal excellence of my generation.
Perry? Really?
I will never again in my life have the same feeling as I did when this album came out.

Your next Boston has to be More Than a Feeling!!!😁🤘❤️🎼
It's two different songs rolled into one much like lights/ stay a while by JOURNEY.
More Than A Feeling is their best 👍
NO WAY! lol... close
Boston’s first two albums are amazing. Pick any song, and I guarantee you’ll like it.
This is one of those songs that reminds me of The limits of digital recording.
Hearing this on vinyl is a different experience.
But I am very grateful you are keeping the music alive👍
This has to be one of the best intros to a song ever , such a build up, epic!
Honestly 😂🔥
"Miss America" by the band Styx is a hard rocker released about the same time on their masterpiece album "Grand Illusion"!!🎸🎶🔥
Great rabbit hole to explore!! I highly recommend "Smokin'" next!!🎶🎼🎵🎸🎤🎧🎹🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Good road trip music !! 😎🔥

Dude, every song on this album is a classic. You ought to learn how this album was made... it'll blow your mind.

Please react to every song on this album. They are all Super big hits. That is why it was the best debut album of all time.
Just listen to the hole album. There all bangers like this one
"A Man I'll Never Be" by Boston is a good one. The live version of Frankenstein by The Edgar Winters Group is one you might try too.
Live version Frankenstein definitely
