  • Amazonia Connect promotes low-carbon practices on farms to help ranchers produce more with less land, reduce emissions and increase income. The initiative's achievements in Brazil include working with 700 small-scale cattle ranching families in the municipalities of Novo Repartimento, Anapu and Pacajá, in the Transamazon region of Pará implementing good agricultural practices on over 23,000 hectares of land.
The programme is an initiative of USAID, Solidaridad, Earth Innovation Institute, the National Wildlife Federation and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In collaboration with USAID's Amazon Regional Environment Program, rural producers, companies, local governments and financial institutions, Amazonia Connect will promote and expand the adoption of low-carbon agriculture and sustainable commodity production in Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
