Sir, pls understand the indepth context. DMK gonna play an important role in opposition alliance in upcoming elections. If the govt gets dismissed on such charges on supporting excile govt of other country (srilankan internal issue), other oppo. Parties will be reluctant to side with DMK becoz BJP will project it as separatist alliance which will bury the opposition parties in hindi belt which is enough for BJP to retain power (except TN no other indian states care about Srilankan tamils) .

On what Mr. Mani said, I would like to go on record and make some points.
Mr. Stalin could have faced the atrocities of emergency. But what is the immediate aftermath. 1980, DMK-Congress combo.
1989, after 13 hiatus DMK came to power. Did they start on the right note?! The attack of Jayalalitha in assembly and Arcot Veerasami's corruption charges. Was that enough?! Padmanabha's murder and suicide of DGP Durai. Mind you no post mortem was done on Durai's body.
When Chandrasekhar became PM and visited Chennai, Mr. Karunanidhi as per protocol received him. With him beside, Mr. Chandrasekhar said there is no immediate danger to TN government as the press asked whether the DMK government will be dismissed on law and order situation. Mr. Karunanidhi looked crest fallen at that stage itself. The days were already numbered.
2001 same as 2021 alliance with the BJP was the problem. 2001, Mr. Karunanidhi would have never quit the Vajpayee government and the fancy ride continued till 2014 enjoying the Central Government privileges which included the genocide phase in Sri Lanka.
In any part of the world, have we seen Dad, Son, Daughter, Grandson, his most trusted loyal all enjoying Government privileges both in State and Central. Won't a basic cadre leave alone general public be agitated.
Thrice he was beaten by MGR, twice by Jayalalitha with a multi layered alliance. Stop calling him Arasiyal Chanakiyar and everything.
