So interesting to hear Shaka's experience in East Germany. I lived in West Germany where my city had a Mosque and a Synagogue. It used to be an old grocery store that some Israeli man started. He also came to Germany cause for love as he put it.
this is my favourite episode so far, great balance of comedy and important discussions from interesting perspectives. shahak was the perfect guest! i look forward to more stuff like this!
I honestly hope ti be able to dee Gianmarco live one day. Never would have known him without the internet and YT. All the world wide web is a stage, but you will never reach every corner from NY. Keep your head up ❤️
great podcast! you could bump up the mic levels a tiny bit tho. once you’ve got everything set, switch between your audio and a song off spotify or something and listen to the difference in volume
Nice to see you thriving in new waters ,Shahak. You should vlog your journey . It would be fun to watch . You know like when Tanzverbot did his journey to Madeira
Israeli Jews always flamed us. It can be brutal, but super accurate. Also they would mock out Hebrew since we typically focus first on Biblical Hebrew then move on to modern Hebrew, but most American Jews converse in Biblical Hebrew if not Yiddish. Which Yiddish has Germanic language roots. Being a polyglot I can blend more easily at least.
By 1972 Germany did not even have a federal police. Only after that special forces were even created. It was basically the Munich Police that had no experience.
55:05 actually there are around 100‘000 actively practicing Jews in Germany today. But the total estimated size of the community is 225’000 and therefore the third largest in Europe. Most however are not associated with German Central Council of Jews. In the 2010s Berlin had the fastest growing Jewish community in Europe. However, most of the community are new immigrants from Eastern Europe or remigration from Israel. Unfortunately, the Jewish German life that existed until 1933 (the community was amount 500k back then) is gone forever.
The idea of paying to work is ridiculous, and lowkey tragic. It's capitalistic hell, it's exploitation, it's a monetary and networking gatekeeping, and of course people who didn't pay to see you don't pay attention. You're working harder then your client. If they consider themselves such and not came only because of another insentive - free or cheap alchogol, to support a friend, networking. I would not be surprised if some owners straight up paid people like an audience on a tv show - because it's like mlm, your "employer" doesn't get money from clients by selling your service, but directly from you, person who's service brings them money, and who should get paid for it and not be paying. It somehow outdone unpaid internships in it's insidiousness.
aren’t there like 25 people in arcade fire? lol i feel like i remember reading that. but i agree stealing the music seems like the best answer, or only buying secondhand stuff.
I just imagine golf carts speeding and grabbing children without a stop 😹 I’ve always wondered how many people sign up with universal life church thing to do funerals.
Its cause people don't have freedom of consequences for their freedom of speech. That's where alt right or gender critical people are totally brain broken about it
I feel like they are ignoring that the issue isnt *specifically* having guns, its the mental health issues, neglect, and just the stupid people. A gun aint gonna hurt anyone(that doesnt deserve it) unless its used irresponsibly
Jesus Christ nine minutes in and I have yet to hear from Shahak except only to tell them how to pronounce his name correctly - something you as the hosts should know since you invited this person to be in your show.

Really loved a guest, would listen to a lot more stories from him. A shame he didn't seem to finish the one about Jeff Lorence
The spam comment five minutes after release is hilarious 😂

Make sure that you register your "church" with the local county clerk. That's just about everywhere so make sure!

For the emails I find it's best to do bullet points. So people see the multiple points

“Legless people aren’t the problem here” 😂

Ngl seeing the #100 epi, i find Russell is def way handsome compared to Tim Dillon 😌💕
Did you mirror his video so he appears to be looking at the correct side of the screen?

And the only way to keep this from those people is to regulate the flow of guns. Particularly the private trade of guns.

Omg. Biden ain't even running the country. It's Jill and the team. I want him to have an MRI when he's done
