I would give anything to have Ted Striker in cockpit of my flight, which is a little room in the front of the airplane where the pilots sit - but that's not important right now.
Well this seemed exactly how I assumed these pacific cruises would be - an RSL on water. Still, it could still be fun if you get drunk everyday I guess. I think that a Mediterranean cruise might be alright as there's so many more interesting stops. I feel like once you've seen one pacific island you've seen them all.
I was almost as cynical as you until I scored a very cheap Mediterranean cruise at a price that I couldn't knock back. In two weeks I went from being fairly anti cruise to a great convert. Basically there is such a variety of things to do that there is something for everyone, even grumpy curmudgeons like me (and probably you). In short, don't knock it until you're tried it.
I did an 8 day one a few years back with Carnival, not sure I could do one longer than that. Did however discover it was better getting cocktails rather than beer, particularly if served by a Russian bartender as they didn't pay attention to the amount of vodka they poured in 🍹
Interesting, followed your movie stuff for years, I also went to Fiji about 3 weeks later for the first time. Flew, sat by a pool for 8 days and flew home. Not sure I could do the cruise thing but the bars do seem appealing..
I should have told you that in Cruisers there is higher chance of getting COVID... ;) (Anecdotal evidence, because every second ship this year seems to come back with quarantined cases)

I did have a bad cough for 2 months after this Cruise. Probably returning to cold Sydney and Melbourne maybe the reason.
