Happy Sunday my friends! Good to see familiar peeps again! Good to be back. I have a proper post-accident update video coming soon, but I am back and well! Hope you all are too!
Very nice! There are hardly ANY reviews on the GS460. I'm thrilled that you provided that service, keep up the great work! You are a natural in front of the camera.
I’d do anything for a GS460. Unicorn! I currently own an 05 GS430, final model year for 2GS and one of 422 V8s that year. I used to own a 2008 LS460 that I loved, but it burnt oil quite a bit, so that makes me skeptical of the GS460.
@@BernonCarsyeah the 350 and 460 motors burn oil at higher mileage if they weren’t maintained to a T. My 13 GS 350 burns a decent bit of oil but who cares when you can easily add more
@@DeathhAngel1 i had a gs460 and it burned a quart of oil every 1500 miles. but since i checked it religiously and the engine takes a little over 9 qts it was never a big issue for me.
Always loved this generation GS. I had a 2008 LS460 for a few years back in 2012-14 and i always wondered how that motor would feel in something smaller. Too bad the GS460 is so rare!
@@joekavalauskas8767 should just mimic the VE (volumetric efficiency) map of the LS460 1UR-FSE with your ECU but I'm not an expert so find a professional shop
I had a GS460 from 2019 to 2022 and put 50k miles on it in that time. Same transmission as the ISF and the TCU from the ISF drops right in for better shifts. I had a friend with a 3GS 450h and when we raced, he took me off the line but I reeled him in at the top of first gear and passed him in 2nd and never looked back. Yes. I have a 2009 GS450h. Pearl white with a tan leather interior. 120,000 miles. I absolutely love it!! I call it a luxurious race car. Want to review it? I reside in St. Louis, Mo.
4:18 Fun fact: in the Middle East the 2nd gen IS had the same engine as the GS 300 but with port injection as a base engine in the IS 300 instead of the 2.5L V6 in the IS 250 which like the GS 300 engine had only direct injection and problems with csrbon buildup. The larger port injected engine had more power and torque and had fewer problems. The Middle East also got that engine in the GS 300. 3GR-FE > 3GR-FSE >> 4GR-FSE
5:32 another middle east fun fact: they got the 1UR-FE in the GS 460 instead of the 1UR-FSE. Apparently this was due to bad fuel quality which would rapidly wear the direct injectors, but at least it gave them the bigger displacement base 2IS, IS 300, not to be confused with the first gen IS 300.😅
I just got a 2009 450h sliver with 60k miles and people think it’s a new car 😂 When I tell them it’s 2009 they are shock This is the best design again so well

Only fitted Tanabe medallion exhaust and Tanabe comfort spring . Roughly 1Inch lower . Also Borbet LX 19inch . The car is definitely better sounding. Drives better. Firmer ride on sports but same feel on the motorway. Mint condition. Best car I've owned.
@@Mylogcabin Nice, i have a powerflow on mine. Not as nice as yours but a nice subtle sound at low speeds and you hear it at WOT. Didn't want another noisy car
The days before turbocharged 6 cylinders took over for midsize cars. Most V8s in this class didn’t immediately suggest sports sedan, and many V6s of the day were approaching this engines exact power figures, however a premium engine option is all about desirability. The 2GR is more reliable than the 1UR engine. I've owned a 2013 ls460 and experienced the cooler leak under the intake manifold. They also have ultra brittle plastic connectors and high pressure injectors that like to disintegrate while you're trying to fix that coolant leak. For the small ish power difference in the GS I don't know that the 460 is really worth the trouble. The 430 is a better engine and there are more of them available.
Lexus used many parts from the 350 in the 460. It came with the same heavy wheels, small brakes, small intake, and y pipe exhaust. It would have been way to sporty if they gave it lighter wheels, bbk, and dual intakes/ dual exhaust. They didn't want it to out shine the LS460 or upcoming ISF.
