curious that i was having a conversation with my 7 year old child about the meaning of life, as he kept asking me "how am i alive? how did i become conscious and alive, was i a little bee before?" and them this song showed up

I feel like it’s a new vocal colour from Anohni. Especially at the end of the song. And yet so unmistakably her. I love it. And I love the music video, it’s very beautiful.

It feels so unrestrained all of a sudden compared to her past work, I love it too. So open and clear, a lot more forwards and direct.
Combined with the lyrics and themes it's heartbreaking in a new way. Instead of shy acceptance of fate there's loud and clear lamenting of how shit a lot of things currently are. I feel it.

The arrangement of strings on this is almost as beautiful as Anohni's voice, and that's saying something. What a masterwork.
This album is such a rich textural wonderful journey, good lord I just can't get enough of it. I feel like every time I listen to it over again I find more and more new little discoveries I didn't quite pick up on the prior listen.

The sound is unreal, simply amazing.
The songs released so far reminds me of one of my favorite bands, the Tindersticks. Although I know they both have similar, older influences. I love these soulful 60s/70s strings.

Anohni and Producer pretend that their main influences were NINA SIMONE & JIMMY SCOTT.
But I also hear The Cowboy Junkies here and there, more often The Associates (Billy MacKenzie & Alan Rankine), and a lot of time Scott Walker.
Whatever the influences and inspirations were, this one is such a phantastic and brutal beautiful album !!!!!

I’m so happy and excited for Anohni!!! Her new tone of voice is much more intense, I’ve always connected with her emotions, her capabilities to own our loyalty to her career and her every single recording and video! I’m convinced she needs to start a World Tour that once she captures the audiences with an educated ear(85% of human beings) once the world understand who she is, what she has to give to the world, once that happens, her tour would likely end by 2099!!! She has so much and so much more than just her unbelievable compositions and interpretations! I’m dying to see her in concert! I’m saving big money, I will see her live no matter where but it better be soon!!!
