I watched the ball drop in NYC on TV and had a shot of champagne after a long day at work when it became 2025. Then went to work again in 9 hours. Where you are it seemed lively yet quiet I wish the U.S. was like that. You will reach all of your goals in 2025. My sincerest wishes that your 2025 is full of abundance and luxury. You mom looks a very skilled homemaker :) We eat "sarme" in Croatia (minced meat-rice balls wrapped in cooked sour cabbage) and explode fireworks All the best in this new year!
Mums are always so good at cooking 😋 our city has a large fireworks display at 9pm for the kids/familys and then again at midnight with a countdown. My goals for 2025 is go to Japan, expand my business and find a friend. Happy New Year 🎉

My former hometown has a bell like at that but I don't know how often it gets used or any specific things it gets used, it's in a city park so anybody can visit it once i once took a bunch of pictures of the bell and it's surrounding area if i remember it was a gift from a city in Japan, I don't know the details but it was part of a sister cities program matching my home city to a city in Japan with similar populations etc, considering my home city didn't have a large japanese population I still like the connection 😊

You would recall that in the New testament that he sent them two and two together as companions where they have no salary and they have no home I'm happy to say that I could impart that to you here in Portland Oregon a member of that fellowship.
How is your mum and sister? Hope they’re feeling better. We have similar tradition of giving money to youngsters. Married couple also gives to unmarried colleagues at work. We put the money in red pocket or 🧧 lai see. I like the circular candles being lit to wish for new year. 😊 For New year, I went to family dinner at my mum’s home. I skipped the midnight fireworks since it’s always very crowded along Victoria Harbour, HK. In three weeks, Lunar/ Chinese year so many shops are now preparing for another festive occasion.
Frying oil sounds like there was a bath water running.

私の国。。。どこだろうか？ ずっと移住してきたので、色々な風俗習慣を知るようになった。オランダのスヘフェニンゲンで大晦日には海岸で大きな焚き火するとか、イギリスで元旦には泳ぐに行く人が多いですよね。私も元旦の泳ぐに行ったことがあります。子供の時トルコで、祖母ちゃんは特別なペストリ作り、中に黄金玉一個を隠していました、口の中に金を見つけた人がそれを手に入れるでしょう。面白いですね。
去年日本語の学校の入学願書を送ったので、今年の一番目標は日本語が上手になることです。受け入れられば、4月横浜で始めます。楽しみにしています。
