still one of the fattest and tightest 3 osc monosynths ever created, IMO - the internal routing options are still on par with what's available today - ~ just wish they'd made a keyboard version with more physical control, still, i'll never sell mine ~
@@cryptout - Same here, it was like a poor mans MiniMoog when it first came out, I bought mine just as they released the +version, so i got the original, new, for £250. Now, I consider the Pulse it's self, a unique, vintage, 3 oscillator synthesizer which in many ways, including reliability and modulation, far surpasses the MiniMoog.
anoybody have opinions in pulse 2 vs pulse comparison? :) I borrowed the Pulse2 from a friend and really liked it. But ye the Pulse is a bit cheaper here in my country sooooo what do you say?
@JimmyV2009 Yeah, I think I've decided to stick with the Juno for a while. Just got a real rehearse room and figured the Juno would fit good in there, why my rackmounted synths stay at home. Probably gonna by a Mopho instead of the Pulse. Seems about equally fun, has a cool mod matrix, and the desktop version is really small. (Been looking at the evolver as well, first thought it was the same synth with the Prophet VS waveforms added, but most people seem to prefer Mopho for bass.)
@NarcissistsDie Triggering issues is why I sold mine, years later I listened to old recordings and regretted abandoning him.. So happy the Pulse 2 is coming \:D/
@paulyscrate1 Is there not a softsynth that emulates a lot of these sounds now? Particularly on the sub bass, Rob Papen sounds pretty punchy and I hear Trillian has a lot of decent basses.
i use to own one like this with the red button its a very nice bass synth but the thing is when you move the nobs with Arpeggiator it can jump with the values settings
It is way more advanced than MK1. Easy to edit with a versatile arp. Sonic-ally it sounds much better than MK1 because of it's multi-mode filter. I really like mine
haven't bought anything yet. tempted by the pulse 2 though. I still have the juno. not sure it's worth selling even if I wanted it - it won't raise the money for an evolver or something else. but evolver or pulse 2 is what i'm thinking of now.
it´s clear that back in the 90s we don´t care about audio-rate modulations...today, the lack of one of the oscillators in the modulators list is something that lower my GAS for one...wonder if the pulse 2 got it...
Did you buy a Mopho? I was going to suggest you don't. I did own a Mopho Keyboard but sold it when I realized my Evolver desktop was just as good at bass and MUCH more interesting, flexible and fun. As a dedicated bass synth you should consider the Moog Slim Phatty. The bass on that is insane. Very warm and with a decent price point. I liked the Mopho initially but it has serious design flaws, in my opinion. In the long run I think the Alpha Juno will serve you better. I've owned one of them too
I'm about to trade my Alpha Juno for a Pulse. What do you people think? I'd say the Pulse usually goes for about 50 euro more here in Sweden. I have a Nord Rack 2, so if I need a steady polysynth I've still got that one...
@MissKinksAhoy I regret so that I sold it after understanding how shit most VSTi actually do bass, they have no attack or punch they all seem to be slow attacking compared to this.
I own the Little Phatty and the Pulse, the Little Phatty has to be the most over rated synth of the century. The pulse may not have the best filter, but it certainly makes up for it in so many other ways. tons of modulation options, 3 osc, great arp etc. Meanwhile, the little phatty does not even have a noise generator, and the midi implementation is still a mess after 3 generations of them. If would take a micromoog or Prodigy over a Little Phatty any day.
@mummstylesound :( I like a real modmatrix though. And it would be pretty nice to save som space. Might buy the MKS-50 sometime in the future. At this point I'm leaning towards a trade...
this synth still sounds amazeballs
Such an underrated synth. Big, ballsy sound that is very versatile. Coupled with a good sequencer and sampler and you can make some great music!!!
My college has one of these and I fell in love with it as soon as I heard what it could do. Nice bass sounds, oh how I'd love one of these :).
i have had one & I loved it...👍🎶😎💥 epic synth
still one of the fattest and tightest 3 osc monosynths ever created, IMO

I'm rediscovering mine now in 2021! bought it when it was released.

Delicious fat sound! Thanks for posting this great demo.
what i like is the random feature .. mostly it just gives the crazyest sounds out .. I will take this synth with when i die :)
Wow. Those sounds though.
I'm pretty keen to see what the Pulse 2 is like. I have a Microwave 1 and it is amazing. I love Waldorf stuff and wavetable synths in general :)
Thanks for the demo :)
AWESOME ! can you share sysex-patch of this sounds?
@footmarshian Yes, if you go to another "matrixpoint"or when you're using the shift-function the parameter values could jump!
@mummstylesound yes waldorf said they was going to fix it with an update but they never did but is was a good bass Synth very powerful
anoybody have opinions in pulse 2 vs pulse comparison? :)
I borrowed the Pulse2 from a friend and really liked it.

sounds like a lot of electro and techno from the 90's and early to mid 2000's
@JimmyV2009 Yeah, I think I've decided to stick with the Juno for a while. Just got a real rehearse room and figured the Juno would fit good in there, why my rackmounted synths stay at home.

@VegassTrades this is still for sale, can post to most countries
@NarcissistsDie Triggering issues is why I sold mine, years later I listened to old recordings and regretted abandoning him.. So happy the Pulse 2 is coming \:D/
Mmm yeah i got the good old blofeld black really an awesome peace of equipment
You're welcome! :)
I just got one, the model without the CVs. A guy sold it to me for $75, it has been in a closet after one of his roommates left it.
Can't wait! ;)

@jeanfatale You´ll probably discover a cool world of modulation with any Waldorf synth...
I must have the Pulse 2! With it's multimode-filter it will be a killer-synth!
But sonically not on par with the Mk1
It is way more advanced than MK1. Easy to edit with a versatile arp.
Sonic-ally it sounds much better than MK1 because of it's multi-mode filter. I really like mine

@roblegit1212 how many part multi timbral?
haha yeah I just bought one I couldnt wait anymore. Ill just buy the 2 when it comes out and sell the 1 if it lives up to the original.
What Patch is playing 2:23?? Is it a factory preset
@jeanfatale Your question is too difficult for me to answer because I really like the Alpha Juno too!
wow
Pulse2 won't be hitting stores before mid August 2013
it´s clear that back in the 90s we don´t care about audio-rate modulations...today, the lack of one of the oscillators in the modulators list is something that lower my GAS for one...wonder if the pulse 2 got it...

@NarcissistsDie Have owned several, and NEVER experienced any of what you claim. The thing's reliable, stable, etc.
I'm about to trade my Alpha Juno for a Pulse. What do you people think? I'd say the Pulse usually goes for about 50 euro more here in Sweden. I have a Nord Rack 2, so if I need a steady polysynth I've still got that one...
Crazy to see it's now being sold at 10x the price 😂
@@backtofitzgerald00, I sold my Juno 1, but didn't get a Pulse. Last year, I bought a Juno 1 again.
Little Bit like a Moog! :)
@MissKinksAhoy I regret so that I sold it after understanding how shit most VSTi actually do bass, they have no attack or punch they all seem to be slow attacking compared to this.
for less than 200 euro's this will blow any vst away.. it's amazing how cheap these synths swap owner nowadays
@maccagrabme I don't think that any softsynth or virtual-analogue synth has the bass-power of the PULSE!!!
I own the Little Phatty and the Pulse, the Little Phatty has to be the most over rated synth of the century. @mpresev sorry, I found out it's one channel.. I want one though.
knorke!
Ooooo
Pulse 2 or Sub Phatty????
Strangely reminds me of a thinner DSI Evolver.
for me is cold and flat, the sound is not massive
@mummstylesound :(
I like a real modmatrix though. And it would be pretty nice to save som space. Might buy the MKS-50 sometime in the future. At this point I'm leaning towards a trade...
Have one for sale in very good condition if someone is interested.
+Om Shanti hey mate if you have not already sold i would be interested. if you could wait a month i would buy it off you for the right price.
did you sell it?
@djemptyx :)
Well seeing as the Pulse 2 is vapourware I'd say sub phatty. But you are comparing an £840 synth with one that if made would prob be less than £400.
Pulse 2 vaporwave? What?
wtfuq im on a waldorf school
:)
1:15 kraftwerk
I will never sell mine!!!
@mpresev 2 - 16
Demo ok, but synth sound sucks with comparison to Moog LP e.g.
uh the usual synthy crap nothing new from waldorf
