Back to language. At first sight, when I looked up for greetings, days of the week and months in Latvian, I thought that Latvian had roots also in Latin. What do I know, right?!?! 🤪 What a unique language this one of yours!!! Super duper cool! 😎 How hard do you think it would be for a foreigner to learn some of it? The foreigner in question is kinda fluent in English, knows enough Italian to be dangerous (dangerous to herself. She knows just enough to get herself in serious trouble) 😂 Considering also that she speaks Portuguese too. Curious to know. Tchau, até mais! ; ).

It's really nice that you're interested in my language, and as a native speaker I really cant say how hard or easy it is to learn it, really :) But for a foreigner in question (for a talented women, I would say), who can get her self in trouble with ciao bella :) learning the basics of Latvian would not cause problems- čau, mazā! it is😂😇
but, seriously, the language is probably difficult, especially if you want to speak correctly in sentences, the grammar is specific... and, did you know that some Latvians have been living in Brazil for 100 years and they even have their own village Vārpa?

Girl, I’ve just found a series about Latvians in Brasil. (We spell Brasil with an “s”). The series starts in Vārpa and ends in Rio (Rio de Janeiro). There are Samba and Bossa Nova in the background. Watched the whole first episode, but browsed a little and they also show the little town of Monte Verde MG. Gotta run! Ci vediamo dopo, bella!

So- some short answers to two of your questions:) it was hard to tune in because today I feel like I don't really speak any language :) I caught a little cold or something, mostly staring at the screen and so on:) so I googled it, because in your native language you just talk and feel it and usually, if somebody asks, cant explain, why it is so:) - Latvian has two grammatical genders- masculine and feminine and seven cases; there are no articles. Adjectives generally precede the nouns they modify, and agree in case, number, and gender. In addition, adjectives take distinct endings to indicate definite and indefinite interpretation... And yes, we use metric system and we are a bit too far North, I don't understand why our ancestors chose these latitudes, if most of the year it is cold, a bit cold, or very cold weather 😁 And what about heavy rains predicted to Sao Paulo area these days? 🙂
