But way, way, way to many details. I hope they have live-in staff. If Mies Van Der Rohe was the architect, you would not believe what he'd make would be real. It would be so simple, but so lush, you'd want to touch the texture of the walls, the furniture, the floor. See Barcelona Pavilion, as an example. A genius.

I came across a Shelter Magazine layout of a rooftop house designed by its architect resident. It looked like a house, because that is what it is. There was one outdoor shot showing some original ornament from the original bank below. I was strolling along one day in my neighborhood when I happened to look up and couldn't believe that I saw those ornamental features from the magazine. Impossible. Nope. I came back with the magazine in hand. That was them. Nirvana on 14th Street.
Sorry to disagree with everyone else, but it has all the feeling of a home that a hotel lobby has. The only rooms I really liked were the baths. I wonder how it did in Hurricane Ida. Would the servants have been quick enough to bring in the outdoor furniture? How's the drainage on the balcony? Ready for 9 inches of rain in six hours?
