@@galpeleg143 Yeah I agree with that, but I still think people are a bit too harsh on her saying that she's like the worst character ever I think you know her actions are really weird from this point on Woods in terms of like not believing in her journalist dream like she wanted to be a journalist from season one and got sidetracked with boys and other things like that like her and season five is very different from season one Rory, like season one Rory had that drive and ambition that season five Rory just doesn't seem to have season five Rory really is kind of a pushover and just wants to matter if they like her it should only matter if he likes her and he never really stopped her from pursuing journalism like he was a little bit of a bad influence as he said in this episode, but maybe like a sponge where She takes everything everyone says especially her grandparents just becomes like that spoil rich kid, I know this is also a bit of a spoiler as well, but she also writes that other article about Logan and his life of privilege and doesn't even reflect on the fact that she had a life of privilege as well, like that's another example of her just as you put it getting whatever she wants and they're being no consequences for her and I don't like that because, I think like I said in one of my other comments that Amy Sherman Palladino is a good writer and you know she clearly had a good story for the show but it feels like she kinda got lost along the way with Rory's character like I get she wants to show that people telling you all the time you think you're amazing, it's kind of like with Harry Potter how Dumbledore hired Lockhart so Harry wouldn't turn into Lockhart and kind of showed him what he could become if he went down the path of oh I'm amazing, it's kind of like the same thing with Rory where everyone's constantly telling her how great she is that she starts believing it and getting a big hit about it and doesn't actually start working for things or actually wanting to put in the effort so it's almost like when Mitcham tells her she doesn't have what it takes to be a journalist, rather than pushing back and saying no I believe in myself I think I'm a good writer you don't know what you're talking about and then going off to someone else and giving them her stories and you know seeking out real advice and actually trying harder she just kinda says oh okay and gives up and you know it kinda goes to show that does she even really want to be a journalist at this point like I know she claims that she does but does she because it feels like her dropping out of Yale and living with the grandparents and just all of that stuff that happens in season six, it feels like it could all have been avoided if in this episode she had just had a little bit more confidence and actually believed in her journalism and believed in herself and didn't take criticism so harshly, I know it's hard not to take those things to seriously, but just because he's some big newspaper guy doesn't mean his opinion is the right and only opinion, like you can value his opinion because he's a big newspaper Mogul, but also think he is a newspaper Mogul, but he also doesn't like me or his family don't like me so you know that question and peelback those layers of is he saying this because he really means it or is he saying it because he's trying to push me or is he saying it because he's not happy with my dating his son, like those are not things that she thinks about she thinks oh this really newspaper person doesn't like me that must mean I suck at journalism, like not even asking anyone else at that newspaper that should've been been working out for two weeks hey can I talk to you what Mitcham said do you agree, I know I haven't really shown my work, can I show you some things that I've written and could you get back to me like you know actually talking to other people there cause she was in a internship situation they're not actually doing any writing so I feel like she really needed to talk to other people and just you know actually report him to some sort of person and say hey I know he's the boss but this is what he said to me even though I haven't actually been doing any journalism stuff here you know I've just been working in this volunteer job to get experience I have actually written anything or done anything as part of this and you telling me all these things is it true is it not true, I know that Rory isn't the type of person to say that kind of stuff, but it always bugged me how she fell after you after cheating with Dean on his wife and all of that stuff like I know some people don't really think that's a big deal but I feel like that's kind of weird she started to become a different type of Rory and just become so selfish and self obsessed with her own talents, where she doesn't even think that it's worth putting an effort to try for things, I don't know maybe that's controversial but I think I don't know what the creators vision was in terms of Rory other than to show her as being a really nice and sweet girl who turns into a spoiled brat because everyone gives her everything she wants, why not actually make her work for things and kiss her when it comes to what she really wants like she keeps talking about being a journalist kissed her on being a journalist and have her bounce back from it don't just like have everything drop away it's kind of ridiculous, I mean it makes sense but it's just unfortunate and there's a lot of characters with missed opportunities, like Lorelai not getting pregnant in this episode was also a disappointment she really should have I think there were a lot of opportunities were really good storylines in the show that just got replaced with other things that wrecked peoples characters or were unnecessary plot points that came out of nowhere. Where they inclusions themselves unnecessarily bad, it's just more or less that they don't seem to be fully thought through and it's kind of dumb to just create a plot line only to then remove that plot point, like Rory wanting to go to Harvard was all she talked about and then they swapped it for Yale but then she dropped out and then all that hard work that she worked five seasons like what was the point of it, I don't know I just feel like there's a lot of messed opportunities there.
I feel like this episode also heavily supports my Kirk might be disabled theory, it's very common for people especially with autism to be really good at specific things like him being good at all these jobs and then being able to calculate his money but then also not really being able to function because mentally he's not All there, is something that to me makes a lot of sense and I know I keep bringing this up all the time when people mention Kirk, but I feel like there is some sort of learning or processing issue there, but it's just that shows from around this time never really acknowledged disabilities, but you see it in episodes like the episode where he slept in the boat or went from house to house soI feel like he is like a child in someways but then he's also incredibly mature and others like when it comes to his job and his payment and his finances which to me makes a lot of sense. As a lot of disabled people are incredibly capable, but at the same time may need help with other things.
Even if it had only been few weeks, Mitchum was her boss and wasn't wrong about Rory. She never had it, nor the drive nor the passion. She would've been an amazing researcher ou planner, but she never putted herself out there, Rory was always in her little shell
I stan Rory's implosion. For some it may seem out of character, but I think it shows how much pressure she's been her whole life to be perfect and how something's gotta snap. Makes perfect sense imo
This eas apparently were viewers began to have issues with Rory as a character. The way I hear it, some people were frustrated with her because they feel that up till now, Rory has had a free ride; with a supporting mother and financial secure grandparents and a whole community who've all been telling her, her whole life she's going to be great no matter what she does, but the moment she faces some harshness in the real world she caves and acts out. That does sound like typical teenage stuff though, so whether or not you agree with that assessment of the character is up to the individual.
honestly i get that Rory has always been spoon fed her whole life but for someone who was so adamant abt what she wanted to pursue, i can understand her acting out. she’s also still in college and still immature in a sense. i don’t understand the rory hate. i feel like she represents a percentage of 20 year olds who just tend to act out.
I mean... For most of those people though, acting out is binge drinking and maybe sleeping around a lot. I don't know many who commit out-and-out grand theft auto...
Also she could get different opinions, she could go to yale and get advise how to continue if she doesnt pursue journalism. Figure out other passions. Yes she didnt want to waste but hey she has that option

This is the one episode that for some reason I have vivid memories of the radio ads for. I can just remember hearing on the radio Sookie saying “why are you asking” and Lorelai saying “my body is telling me something” surrounded by that deep voice they used saying “on an all new Gilmore girls”
Omfg 😂 Kirks 15,000 jobs, the Suki baby despair, and the workmen shittalk rant 💀 Such a good reaction video, these are becoming my favourite things ever 🤣
Found your channel when you started season 5 of Gilmore Girls, went back to the start, ive realised youre partially psychic, and possibly quite violent, almost every video on any of your reactions you want someone pushed out of a window, or just to simply 💀😂😂👏🏻👏🏻
This is the episode I decided I really didn't like Rory. The fact that she, as an INTERN somehow gets to where she's basically running the news room is so unrealistic. They always write her in as the one and only conqueror of any and everything. The one time the show has someone give her some criticism she looses her mind. Spoiled entitled child she is.
I find it quite the coincidence that the most recent video you posted on Patreon is 6x9 on the same day this goes live on TH-cam, when you said Luke would be ecstatic having a kid. 😂
The elder with the cool voice was played by the late William Morgan Sheppard, a very prolific actor who was in everything. I recommend looking up the character Lucky from Wacked he played for a laugh.
Mitchum is an ass and I get the feeling that he said some things on purpose just to crush her spirit, but honestly it wasn't surprising how Rory reacted. Considering that journalism was the only path that she and everyone else envisioned for her, it makes sense that those rude and thoughtless comments about her not being cut out for what she worked for her whole life would hurt her. I don't get how anyone can have a problem with that. Only the unempathetic haters would find an excuse to blame Rory
@@kerriethompson2073 I guess you don't understand the meaning of "constructive". Telling a young intern that they're in the wrong position, and should rather be an assistant isn't constructive in any way. Also, where was the outrage when other characters acted out? Jess, Tristan and Logan have all engaged in minor theft and everyone swoons over that. The hypocrisy is ridiculous
So annoyed with myself for missing this yesterday! I liked all of the snippets; more like real life. Wish Rory had taken Mitchum's criticism as a challenge.
This is where Rory ticks me off. I understand being upset with what Mitchum said to her -- it was awful and he's a dick. But you go cry, or yell, or rant to Logan, or call your mom, or maybe in a pinch throw something (lol) -- you don't go STEAL A BOAT! It's ridiculous. And it feels out of character for her. I don't care how upset she is; she knows it's wrong to steal someone's yacht, and the old Rory before this season never would have done such a thing. It makes me eyeroll.
I agree. People in earlier seasons/eps have critiqued Rory before too. She took it as a challenge when she started at Chilton or the yale news room. For Mitchum to criticize her so vaguely and base his opinion on a gut feeling should have been a red flag for Rory, especially after what happened at the dinner she had with Logan's family. It's enough for Rory to be angry, but not to be so wreckless. Maybe if Mitchum was meaner or if she experienced something life-changing? Odd character choice for sure.
13:28 please please don't watch the time skip!! I would do anything to erase it from my memories, it's not worth it, it's not even good hate watch, it's just plain bad
You finally made it to the episode that a lot of us are really frustrated by for two reasons, firstly the stuff with Mitcham Hunts burger and secondly the stuff with Lorelai, we know that Luke is buying the house for her and him to have a family together and after this point everything just kind of goes downhill because it would've been as you said so cool to see Lorelai pregnant and see her have a baby, the closest we get to with GG, Christopher's daughter, but no one really cares about Christopher right, there is also another person who pops into the picture soon, but the reason a lot of us hate season six and seven, is because they take what could be a really cool storyline, with Luke and Lorelai buying a new house and getting married and having a baby and they just flushed the whole thing down the toilet, sorry slight spoilers there, but you will see soon what I am talking about with especially season six. I think Lorelai getting pregnant and having a baby would've been a great storyline and I'm really upset that they didn't do that and went with something else, that in my opinion not only wrecks her relationship with Luke but also ruins the whole show in a way, there is nothing wrong with Sid character, but it feels like a missed opportunity and an unnecessaryplot point that honestly just comes out of nowhere. As for the stuff with Mitcham and Rory, that's another plot point that I think a lot of us are really angry by, because it's another one of those plot points that doesn't really make sense, because when you were talking about it earlier and one of the earlier episodes how Him giving her the job felt like it came with strings, I think these are the strings, I think he always intended to build her up and then crash her confidence in journalism, because why asked would he give her the job and then make her do nothing and then Crush like that, it's so unnecessary, especially since she is a good journalist and it just ends up breaking her whole character and I don't like that about this, because it's so oddly ridiculous and unnecessary, it feels like maybe they ran out of story ideas, the creator Amy Sherman Palladino, is good at writing Certain story lines, but others it feels like she doesn't quite know what she's doing, or it could be that she left after season six so she hasn't seen season six or seven of the show, I know especially season seven, I'm not sure if she was here for season six but she did end up leaving and so that could be why certain characters are introduced or storylines have been Ruined and then she tried to fix it with the revival, but it was kind of like 10 years too late with some story stuff and some of it felt dated and too late, so I'm really angry that they didn't go with the storyline of Lorelai being pregnant now, as I think that change Could've taken the show in a whole different direction that would've been in my opinion much better than what they do go with, again this is just my opinion as someone who's watched the shows several times and always gets frustrated after this point, I don't know if I'm alone in wishing Lorelai had gotten pregnant or if other people like what happens after this point, I personally don't but that's just my opinion, when it comes to what they did with Lorelai's character and Rory's.
Yeah this isn't Emily's vintage era. She definitely gets kinda flanderized at this point. I think she improves a bit at some point on S6, but expect this kinda BS from now on.

actually make her work for things and kiss her when it comes to what she really wants like she keeps talking about being a journalist kissed her on being a journalist and have her bounce back from it don't just like have everything drop away it's kind of ridiculous, I mean it makes sense but it's just unfortunate and there's a lot of characters with missed opportunities, like Lorelai not getting pregnant in this episode was also a disappointment she really should have I think there were a lot of opportunities were really good storylines in the show that just got replaced with other things that wrecked peoples characters or were unnecessary plot points that came out of nowhere.
Oh boy. Can't wait to the next one.
Yesssssss!
Can we talk about Kirk and his frickin' fortune.. when a few episodes ago HE WAS SLEEPING NAKED IN LUKE'S BOAT!!
@@AshleysAdvice yeah that or he's just written as a funny side character with no continuity to him
Even if it had only been few weeks, Mitchum was her boss and wasn't wrong about Rory.
Makes perfect sense imo
who’s putting pressure on her to be perfect?
Luke is so handsome in the blue shirt in that Limo omg
Did he just say JUNE 3RD? 🥺
I immediately came to the comments to say this.
Context? I can’t remember what I said 😅😂
@@TrophyReacts oh nothing, just a reference from S6, you’ll see when the time comes 😬
Noticed that too!
Made the same comment.
I mean, she could take that feedback and think about what's accurate, what isn't, and what she could do to make him eat those words.
What are the odds to start watching gilmore girls on june 3th 🥹😭

@TrophyReacts: It's a reference to something later on in the show (next season) which would be a major spoiler.
@@TrophyReacts Forget about it for now. Would be a spoiler. :)
@TrophyReacts oh just wait 🥹
@@EmphaticNod grand theft BOAT :))
@@galpeleg143 Grand theft auto includes boats too lol
Also she could get different opinions, she could go to yale and get advise how to continue if she doesnt pursue journalism. Figure out other passions. Yes she didnt want to waste but hey she has that option

This is the one episode that for some reason I have vivid memories of the radio ads for. I can just remember hearing on the radio Sookie saying “why are you asking” and Lorelai saying “my body is telling me something” surrounded by that deep voice they used saying “on an all new Gilmore girls”
YOU STARTED THE SHOW ON JUNE 3RD? EVERYONE STAY CALM!
Omfg 😂 Kirks 15,000 jobs, the Suki baby despair, and the workmen shittalk rant 💀 Such a good reaction video, these are becoming my favourite things ever 🤣
Penultimate is your favorite word
True, thank you for noticing
Oh, no! This is when everything started going downhill. 😭

Found your channel when you started season 5 of Gilmore Girls, went back to the start, ive realised youre partially psychic, and possibly quite violent, almost every video on any of your reactions you want someone pushed out of a window, or just to simply 💀😂😂👏🏻👏🏻
Joe is really good at guessing what happens, in a lot of shows, it's a great quality!
@@wiscoqueen agreed, I'm always so surprised when he guesses, lol
A violent psychic 💀😂that’s a first

He is indeed ODDLY psychic 😮
This is the episode I decided I really didn't like Rory. The fact that she, as an INTERN somehow gets to where she's basically running the news room is so unrealistic. They always write her in as the one and only conqueror of any and everything. The one time the show has someone give her some criticism she looses her mind. Spoiled entitled child she is.
I find it quite the coincidence that the most recent video you posted on Patreon is 6x9 on the same day this goes live on TH-cam, when you said Luke would be ecstatic having a kid. 😂
the drill making a return is so funny I’m sorry
The elder with the cool voice was played by the late William Morgan Sheppard, a very prolific actor who was in everything. I recommend looking up the character Lucky from Wacked he played for a laugh.
Good episode!!! Great reaction. 😊
Can’t wait for the next episode
Someone might have already said this, but Lorelai had to wait two weeks for a yes. She got the no because she got her period.
Wait, did somebody tell you to start the series on June 3? That was their wedding date.
No, just pure luck 😭
Sometimes the ba-ba-ba stuff reminds me of The Courtship of Eddie's Father (which will be familiar to probably no one on here).
I know you don't like Jackson, but it was sooo bad of Sookie...
14:13 She got her period so she knows she's not pregnant
Mitchum is an ass and I get the feeling that he said some things on purpose just to crush her spirit, but honestly it wasn't surprising how Rory reacted. Considering that journalism was the only path that she and everyone else envisioned for her, it makes sense that those rude and thoughtless comments about her not being cut out for what she worked for her whole life would hurt her. I don't get how anyone can have a problem with that. Only the unempathetic haters would find an excuse to blame Rory
He was honest with her, which I wish all bosses were like. If Rory can’t take constructive criticism without stealing a boat. Just saying.
Apathetic
So annoyed with myself for missing this yesterday! I liked all of the snippets; more like real life.
Wish Rory had taken Mitchum's criticism as a challenge.
Wait, you started JUNE THIRD? Keep that date in mind. 😂
I would do anything to erase it from my memories, it's not worth it, it's not even good hate watch, it's just plain bad
noo please watch it and decide on your own if you like it
You finally made it to the episode that a lot of us are really frustrated by for two reasons, firstly the stuff with Mitcham Hunts burger and secondly the stuff with Lorelai, we know that Luke is buying the house for her and him to have a family together and after this point everything just kind of goes downhill because it would've been as you said so cool to see Lorelai pregnant and see her have a baby, the closest we get to with GG, Christopher's daughter, but no one really cares about Christopher right, there is also another person who pops into the picture soon, but the reason a lot of us hate season six and seven, is because they take what could be a really cool storyline, with Luke and Lorelai buying a new house and getting married and having a baby and they just flushed the whole thing down the toilet, sorry slight spoilers there, but you will see soon what I am talking about with especially season six.
And THIS marks the Rory downfall for me😭😭😭 and of course the dean incident
