@@brandongilbert3071 He was definitely as good as Luka but not on his level as a star. This era is completely different than the one Van Horn played in. The era Van Horn played in had legit centers and power forwards. He dealt with much tougher physical play, with crowded paints and less ticky tack fouls. I could go on and on, but I won't. Luka is good, but he's only this good because of the era. Had he played even 10 years earlier he wouldn't even be close to being considered an MVP caliber player. That era had legit shooting guards galore. The era matters no matter what folks think. This era is littered with G league talent masquerading as starters.
Awesome video. I was a huge fan of Van Horn. I even wore high socks for a time because I saw him do it. Never was aware of the stuff swirling around him not wanting to play in Philly, but it makes sense. He took full advantage of immobile 4s in that era but you are right, in this era of so much small ball, if he has no shotblocker to worry about, 30-40 points is possible out of him (not averaging of course) he would probably get 18-20
@Jonathan Donathan he was drafted as a 4 and that was his best spot and during his career year that is where he played. He only played 3 after kanyon Martin came to the nets

Thanks for this video. He was definitely ahead of his time. Great person and player
Funny thing that this video got recommended on my TH-cam because I am playing with Keith RIGHT NOW on my NBA 2k🤣🤣.... I have him with the 85-86 Bulls with a Young MJ & he is KILLING IT! LOL
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
*He'd be a perennial All-Star in today's era.*
Do Royce White, Leon Smith, Rashard Griffith or Keon Clark. I know you like the point guards but give the front court dudes a shot
Nevermind I just saw the Royce White video
Hey man, this was good one. I grew up watching him in college. But a another one that you should do is Kerry kittles. I think he was on that same draft class that year. I could be wrong. Keep it up man.
Excellent as always Bro! How about Kerry Kittles for one! Let's get it!
IMO this dude was as good as Luka Doncic, he was just in an era with REAL Superstars, and also on a bad New Jersey Nets team. Had he been in this era he would be a top player for sure.
The 97-98 Nets were the 8th seed. Man they were scrappy and I thought they would be better than they were before the Kidd trade.
@@Joohnny23 Yeah they were coming around. He was pretty good back then. I used to watch alot of basketball in that era. To me that was one of my favorite era's leading into the early mid 2000's
Lol sometimes y'all be hyping these players up keith van horn was decent he was not on luka level and I'm a sixers fan lol I agree he definitely belonged in this era
NO HE WASN'T THAT GOOD!!
Awesome video. I was a huge fan of Van Horn. I even wore high socks for a time because I saw him do it. Never was aware of the stuff swirling around him not wanting to play in Philly, but it makes sense. AI and Jerry Stackhouse were rumored to be beefing and Derrick Coleman didn't have the best rep either (as you alluded to in his video). Plus, Keith Van Horn did stick around after Steph got traded to Phoenix and was a piece on one of those Nets NBA finals teams. Got traded for Mutombo the next season.
Anyways, thanks for this video because I will not stand for any KVH slander. Not a bust in the slightest. I'll argue with anyone.
Kenny Skywalker, Rex Chapman. Damon Bailey, for sure.
I believe Kenny Skywalker and Rex Chapman played at Kentucky together
@@Rakeemgrant I was just MENTIONING names for good stories not necessarily team associations.
i rem me and my friend at school would always argue who was gonna be bigger and better, TD or Keith,. I always said TD, but he said Keith. We now know who won that argument lml rotf!!
Who tf is td
@@gudlukkay Tim Duncan
Ultimately he came out winning in the end. I liked Keith Van Horn
facts.
@@stuntedgrowth you have an awesome channel man, keep up the great work! 👍💪
He Choked Bad in the Finals, That haunted him for the rest of his career
@Franko E I wonder why they never gave him a chance??? That sounds great but after his Final's run. It was like he was written off. He could have been a great shooting guard. His team mates talked a lot of shit and through him under the bus. His Value dropped terribly ??? The NETS lost the final's the next year in 5 games. He was not the problem.
@@hamzasinanaj9132 Shooting guard? At his size? Seriously?
The guy was a mobile power forward, even playing small forward he struggled defensively against smaller players who were simply too fast for him.
Man this guy was one of my favourites
he was underrated hell of an athlete and scorer
He is gonna be a star player if he played the nba today... A stretch 4 or 5.. But KVH, in my friends was a fashion trender... That high socks..!!
Christian Laettner, Cherokee Parks, Austin Croschere, Troy Murphy and David Lee should get a Stunted Growth video as well.
Eric Maynor should be featured soon
One of the first “Stretch 4s”…salute to him for choosing his family first 🤲🏾🙏🏾
He was a good inside out scoring machine
Couldn't tell if you were only talking about Cinematic Universe ir Real Life. Good job
he reminded me of toni kukoc mixed with a little bit of dirk...
I’d love to see Keith in the BIG3!
Larry Johnson - Keith Van Horn - Dirk Nowitzki are my fave players of all time!
Southern California do have some BALLAHS!!!🏀
Just subscribed!! My friend just led me to your channel Stunted Growth and what an awesome channel it is! Being a big basketball fan (particularly college) it was so cool to hear the stories of players I grew up watching. Your methodical, concise, and unbiased analysis is so entertaining. Suggestions on some players Donte Greene, Korleone Young, and Rodney White. Keep up the great work :)
He was one of my favorite players
Thank you I always felt kvh was always underachieving
Last Vid on DC was 🔥!!!
I love this channel so much, because every episode has a good lesson behind it to learn or even revisit!
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. I thought that he was The Next Larry Bird! I was SO hopeful, when he was rumored after 1999-2000, to be traded to Seattle for Vin Baker!
Wow never realized the numbers KVH put up.. 20 PPG 7 RBD 85% FT in his rookie year? You would be lucky to see a big man get those numbers in today’s game where defence is a 1/3rd of what it was in the 90s.. this guy could obviously ball. Learned something every day 🔥🔥
He took full advantage of immobile 4s in that era but you are right, in this era of so much small ball, if he has no shotblocker to worry about, 30-40 points is possible out of him (not averaging of course) he would probably get 18-20
@@scotthaines1461 he was a 3 who played wing almost exclusively.
@Jonathan Donathan he was drafted as a 4 and that was his best spot and during his career year that is where he played. He only played 3 after kanyon Martin came to the nets
Great Video 💪🏾. I got a view suggestions Ed Cota, Clifford Rozier, Q Richardson, Damon Stoudamire
My Spurs made the right decision! Respect to Van Horn
i was thinking bout van horn recently.... dude was legit!
Keith Van Horn was a problem! A whole bucket!
He would be a superstar today.
One of my favorite player to use on 2k
