I know that mountain. It bears the name of my friend's grandfather and I have even climbed part of it. The mountain gets regularly burned in dry weather, which keeps it grassy. The main trees you do see there are a large species of casuarina known locally as a Yat tree. Fire is about the only way to stop the rainforest re-claiming all the gardens.
