Notice at 0:57 the Marines were wearing the Cammo Utilities with the "old" green utility cover, at that time the Corps had NOT decided what type of cover to wear with the new cammo utilities. So this picture was sometime around January 1977. I remember this very well. At 1:47 notice the new cammo cover. SEMPER FI

@Emoji King sorry so late in answering your comment. So was assigned to 1/8 then, so we served together at Camp LeJeune at the same time. I was with H&S Co H&S Bn, 2nd Force Service Support Group. Yes I was a POG, I worked at the Co Hq as an Admin/Personnel Clerk. My last 2 years NOT one day in the field. Thanks for your service, Devil Dog. @Scott Page USMC I remember the day Elvis died. I was stationed at Camp LeJeune and a Sergeant. I was almost ready to finish my four years. Then I almost reenlisted. They wanted me to go to Admin Chief School at Parris Island. After completing the course, I would be promoted to Ssgt.
Well, about a week before I was to reenlist, I changed my mind and decided to get out and let my hair grow. Boy, did it grow. What was your MOS and where all were you stationed? Take care Scott, thank you for your service to our beloved Marine Corps. Long live the Legendary Chesty Puller. Semper Fi

you do know that you have the opportunity to not click onto the video. It's one of the great aspects of The United States Of America, is freedom to choose what you want to look at. There are so many people out there that are interested in the history of the Marine Corps. And keep this in mind, if you don't have something to say that's nice, than don't say anything at all. That is something that we learn in kindergarten. My 2 son's, who are my only children, both serve our country and they are just like the commercial says

"mom"... pretty much half the adult population is made up of "moms". if you've got nothing else to make a username out of.. you need to get some actual accomplishments under your belt. if your kids get killed, the world will be all the better for it.

Where's the praise for only male marines?
As a chick myself, were I a marine, I would find it extremely offensive to be praised for doing the same job as my male counterparts just because have a vagina.
[All of this is working under the assumption that m & f Marines have to meet the EXACT SAME mental, physical, intellectual, & emotional requirements to become a Marine. If that is not the case, you better expect the quality of our armed forces to decline, no matter how much money is poured into it. Cultural marxism & pc culture doesn't belong in the U.S. Armed forces(PERIOD)]
Hayotowin I agree with everything you said. I believe because the women in the military are not getting enough recognition as males do. Also when I go around places and watch videos on YT, haters give the military women hate.
It upsets me a lot. Women have every right to fight and serve this great country and work just as hard as males to be in the military. Especially in the Marines.

Eddie Olshefski I agree. But if women want to be equal they should also sign up for the daft. All male 18 yr olds are required to sign up for a future draft. I served with "WMs (Womens Marines) Im sorry to say, thats what women in the Corps were called back in 1973-1977. Only problem, DO NOT lower the physical standards, If males carry a 145 pounds pack, the same for women. There is a reason the standards should not be changed, to save yourself and others in combat.
