I can't even explain how grateful for that video I am!!!! Our uni taught us only auto cad but they let us use other programmes too! this makes it so much easier 😆I appreciate that tutorial !
I am working on Architectural Visualisation in Blender because of Cycles photorealism, but I was always interested in creating floor plans myself, which you cannot do in Blender like this. There are some plugins but this is the real deal. This is very nice tutorial for beginners. Nice and easy workflow. Thank you.
Never disappoint bro. Been searching for floor plan and this demonstration has got it all. Hope the same technique applied for previous versions. Thank you
My archicad seems to be different from yours yet am using archicad 27.Some of things you are executing dont display like your on the screen. Can you share your version
Hi ! Storage close to bedroom. You mean Control D for duplicating ? Please clarify this text at 5.37 minute. Your text on screen discribes as "so I'll select this wall tap control holding in shift ! " With regards K. Jeyen.
Hi There! to duplicate, once you start dragging an item, you'll need to then press the control key ('option' key on a mac) this will show a small plus icon next to your mouse indicating that a duplicate of the original is being created. The video below at the 2:20 minute mark has a demonstration of the shift + tab technique. th-cam.com/video/qx8OCZi1S7k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6eLYjPdPe1ymPyyq&t=140
Hello new friend, thanks so much for this express tutorial. I was skeptical, but you really covered the basics in 15 minutes, it's a great videoa. However, I saw at the end you removed the measurements for the doors etc. What do I need to do to get the measurements for all the rooms? Not as Sq M but as each wall eg 500cm x 600cm etc. Thanks so much! P.S is there also an easy way to see the length of a wall without the dimensions being on the page? e.g to hover over a wall and simply see it's length
Thanks! Great to hear you enjoyed the video! For measuring without using the dimension tool, if you tap the 'M' Key this should activate the measure tool. For the height and width measurements of a door or window, you can either turn on the build in marker, or you could use the label tool. If you use the lable tool you'll just need to adjust its settings to your preference then click on the door or window and it should give the sizes. I’ll put a link to the ArchiCAD Help guide for the tool below helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/129124/
For sure. There are a few ways to change the dimension, depending on the object you can either select a corner node and stretch it. Alternatively the dimensions can be adjusted in the objects settings. if you select the object, then use the shortcut "CRTL + T" it will open up a dialog box that will allow you to change the size. Hope that helps, cheers.
I am using Archicad 20 and I don't have the experimental features in my settings. Is there any alternative for that option in the older versions of Archicad?
I've made the Black and white pen set available for free over on the Patreon, link below is where you can download and how to import them. www.patreon.com/posts/importing-black-112977842?Link&
Hey Amy, It'll be the 'geometry method', when you have the wall tool selected, go to the setting where it says 'geometry method', then click on the little icon and select the one that looks like a single wall... it's a bit tricky to just describe with just text here, but I hope it points you in the right direction.
You can always play back to the parts you couldn't catch on. As a slow learner who wants to learn quickly, I personally like how he explains the fundamental tools and summarizes the key parts we need to learn as a beginner
@@archguide have similar issue, it's not missing libraries but door is just not selectable. Only way to select it is find and edit > doors. Tried everything, including restarting. Not sure if i'm missing something obvious or something broken
@@evanious Doors can be a bit tricky to select. You have to find the doors "node" points. you'll need to click the door at the outside edge of it's casing. (not the door leaf) tricky to explain without a picture, but I hope this points in the right direction.
@@archguide Thanks for the reply! Turns out restarting my computer sorted it out. Now I can hover over line and it gets selected. Just beginning my journey - yours are the best videos I've found, thanks!

Do you think CiTools is a must-have in NZ/AUS? If not, how do you detail the roofing accessories like gutters and flashings? Thank you.
Do you have any videos where you explain how to scale a drawing in archicad? The methods that you use in order to do that
Hi Laura,
Just release a video a few days back, will put a link below
