Shepway green Y shape flats to the right
Sausages hut next to Northumberland rd
The pub was the One and Only next to the green. Tall slide they had one in Mote park also.
Still live in Maidstone most of my life. Nostalgic film.
    Thanks for sharing 👍😁

How lovely you have kept this and the memories it brings for you and for everyone else of social history evolving in this part of Kent!

A really nice video!!! Last year we went for Maidstone (5 days) and it was the first time for us in GB and Maidstone. We never had better holidays!!! Maidstone is so beautiful.
We had stayed at the Aylesbury House (Bed & Breakfast) and it was so nice there!!!
In November we (my girlfriend,my brother with his girlfriend and myself) go again to Maidstone for a short visit.
Last year it was our first time that we were in GB and Maidstone. Best holidays ever!
    Kind regards from Germany
    Chris

Thank you! This was so sweet and poignant, seeing people from this time. I recognize all the places. I was born in Mangravet in 1955. I played on those swings at Shepway. Now live in San Francisco.

I was about 6 then, I tell my kids how tall the slide was in shepway, they’ve never believed me 😂 I’m going to show them this, I loved growing up in shepway, lovely memories.

I lived here in the 70s and 80s - Shepway, Cumberland Avenue/Northumberland Avenue slide & swings, if anyone's not sure. Great to see.

Yes it is the children’s play area on Shepway green, I used to live near there and played on those swings a lot. The flats were replaced by houses . Great to see this area again. I also used to go to the disco that was held in the sausage hut ... happy days!

Northumberland road? I live at number 76 now. Don't think it's that, but could be a neighbours house

My dad (Jim) grew up in Northumberland Avenue, with his sister Carol. He is also called Jim Craig so there was another Craig family in Parkwood around that time...how strange!
