Mt. Etna lived on the island such a beautiful place. Camporotondo the town I lived in seems like Yesterday
Brings back memories! While my husband was stationed at NAS Sig we saw Etna erupt many times. Was always really cool

I very well could be wrong. However, I don't think they are as close as it appears. Watching the video, especially when they are shooting from above, there doesn't appear to be anywhere on the volcano for that many people to get close too to the eruption 🤷🏻♀️
Regardless it's a great capture of how mighty nature is 🌋😯
They are standing very far away, most likely on a high plateau. Without the eruption, there are tour going close to the rim

You would actually fall on that, as the lava is so dense. It is really rock but it looks like a watery liquid. You can walk on red hot lava if your footwear holds up.

WELLINGTON, Oct 31 (Reuters) - The management company of White Island, where a volcano eruption killed 22 people, mostly tourists, in 2019, was found guilty of one charge of breaching health and safety law in a New Zealand court on Tuesday.
Following the explosion on White Island, also known as Whakaari, the workplace regulator charged 13 parties in November 2020. Six of them, including the helicopter and boat tour operators, pleaded guilty.
Charges against the other parties, except the management company, were dismissed.
