I wanna cry because so many Teto songs were about wanting to be a Vocaloid, which made me so sad as a kid. She was never gonna be a Vocaloid. And now LOOK AT HER GO!
Struggling to not break down sobbing over the meaning of this song in relation to Teto Kasane specifically. I know this is originally a Miku song and the meaning is different for Miku - since she never had to, in essence, fight her way to the top, and now her popularity is waning - but... still. For Teto, the meaning of the song becomes a reflection of how this one-off april fools joke character was given a voice, an identity, and a hypothetical dream to one day become a professional vocal synth. In the process of her creation, her rise to popularity, and her reputation as being a sort of 'underdog' compared to the far more expensive vocaloids, she basically became a worldwide sensation. And it was all because people, her creators and her fans, genuinely loved her enough to bring her to life. ("If you tell me that you love me, I want to believe it, even if it's a lie") Even when she had no voice ("Even if I'm not real, if you felt my existence, I'd be happy whether it was a lie or not"), and even when her older voice was clunky and tinny and robotic ("A melody that sounds awfully robotic and that, at the same time, sounds like a kind person, will now turn into a song"), there was something about her that was so charming and endearing that, even if she could never reach the same heights as her vocaloid counterparts, she had so many fans who loved to hear her sing and a dedicated team of people working to improve upon her, for fifteen years. So many of us basically grew up with her, she's become an honored guest in our hearts. ("Even if I'm not loved, it's okay. If you're here, I will be able to reach you with my clumsy voice anytime") And now, at long last, she finally achieved that dream that, years ago, seemed so distant. And even though it feels like - and is - a new beginning, nothing has really changed. She may have been upgraded to professional software and sounds more real than she ever has in her 15 year existence, but at the end of the day, she's still Teto. And this is made even more apparent by the fact that now that her SynthV voice bank is out, people are using her to cover all of her oldest songs. ("Even when the fun party ends, if I can put a smile on your face, then forever, from right here, let me stay as *_Kasane Teto."_* ) Sorry for the rant I just love Teto so much😭

Wow. SV Teto is awesome! Great job on the tuning, the song is beautiful. A little side note here; It's kind of ironic how the theme and message of the video can apply to Teto's new voice bank and the general consensus about NT Miku's voice bank. Personally I love all the Miku voices but I'm not a producer and from what I read online, some of them aren't too happy with the way Crypton is handling things. Crypton is more focused on Miku merch over developing her software further thus leaving Miku thrown away, forgotten, and unloved, like the theme of the song implies. I'd like to think that the shining hand reaching for Miku was Teto sharing her new AI tech with Miku. Pulling Miku out of despair. Yeah, that's my head canon now. Lol. It would be neat if SynthV does actually share tech with Crypton, fusing Miku and the other Cryptoids with AI tech. That would be neat.
In the context of Teto, this song is 15 years in the making. It’s a heartfelt thank you finally given the proper voice by someone who never had the voice to express her feelings. She’s finally the vocaloid she’s dreamed of being, and it’s as she says, because we’re here.
