    USB Testers on Amazon UK - amzn.to/2F6Gv3g
    There are some newer models that support higher voltages and additional functions

      @Lambo Ferrari They just test there is no voltage protection, but USB devices can't short out (a protocol of the USB format). If you use a decent source of power/power bank then you won't have a problem. They shut off when charging is done and won't exceed voltage. I would suggest Xiaomi make the best power banks. For charging use decent makers ie wall adapters, not the ebay ones flying around some of them blow up!

      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lambo Ferrari There are different models out there are newer ones. Some will show higher voltages (ie quick charge etc) so look around and find what you need
      I made the video quite a while ago, there are variations on these testers out there with higher volt support

      @Lambo Ferrari Read my first reply they convert nothing they are testers they do not convert voltage
      They read the data not change it

      Useful review of these clever little devices (as of five years ago). I find I've still got charging cables that are very slow and were probably cheap - made for the days when phone batteries were accepting slow charge.
      I'll throw them! There are many USB cables out there today that are well made and will carry 2+ amps load. On Amazon they even show cross section diagrams of these high quality leads.

      I passed on the background music, I did a poll and 90% say no don't want it. So I'll never use it. It can be passable at super low volume -most have it too high

    useful, informative video with comparison features too, I learned there are inexpensive testers that will record capacity passed through as well. Thanks for this

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are useful particularly for devices with built in batteries, you can test the charge capacity. Or even just charging speed with the Drok, I use them quite often

    I have the KCX -017 and it gives very good readings, tested with multi tester and its spot on, 100% accurate, not bad for £3 off Ali-Express, took 3 weeks to arrive.

    There is more to USB ports that just charging. How do you test if data is being transferred adequately?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's a windows PC it either works or doesn't you'll get a warning if files copied are corrupt. As far as speed goes varies hugely there is benching software for that

    btw the white one can only measure up to 19999 after it would roll over to 20000 it stops reading so i have to say go to 10000 and change channel and combine the 2

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some vary but yes it tops out at that level (maybe enough for some testing or most), there are newer ones out that go higher and do bigger voltages. Still these testers are pretty handy, thanks for commenting

      @@MrBazReviews Thanks Sir, I will have to test it, trying to trick one that I use to power a camera to stay on, bit when the camera goes on stand by, the power bank stops and turns the camera on. An usb hub with an usb powered fan connected to it did the trick but I am trying to resolve it in a more elegant manner :)

      @@gzoladz Can you turn off the power saving on the camera? Might work not sure which one you are using

    • @gzoladz
      @gzoladz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, it is a good suggestion. To make a long story short, my camera (Nikon P1000) has an inbuilt protection mechanism that turns it off when not in used for +30mins, even if it is powered externally. As that causes that there is no draw from the Power bank, then this turns off too and when the camera wants to start again, there is no power (it is much longer than this...) so I am trying to get dummy the camera into doing something, and I have achieved that by finding a way to have it in standby, but in standby there is not enough draw to keep the power bank on (if that makes sense). I have ordered one hif these voltimeters to see if that draws the additional power to keep it on. If not, I may connect something else to it i.e. a fan, to see if that makes it. All this is to use the camera as a camera trap :)

    I need to check USB ports inside vehicles to see if they are getting power and if they are able to read music of USB sticks. Would any of these be good for that, or are they strictly for charging purposes?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can check power so if the port is working it will be showing near the 5V, the Drok is the most obvious one as this shows the voltage and drain so I'd use that for this purpose

    Do you know if there is some hack for this?thanks

      I've been using it quite a bit lately and my one is updating the mAh even at under 200 (albeit obviously slower than higher speeds) either you got a dud or something else is wrong

    hello
    can i measure the voltage of a quick charge phones ( 9 to 12 charging volt )
    with KCX017 ,, because it indicates that the input voltage is 3,5 to 7 volts only !!
    thanks in advance

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The KCX017 is 7 volts max, the Drok goes up to 10V so I use that for quick charge measuring. There are other testers out there, so just check the max voltage it reads some of them will go up a bit more
