I went through the same emergency c-section with my daughter. It was terrifying. I’m so glad you and baby are ok. ❤️ He is so precious! Congratulations!
4 times c section mom. Ice pack the incision site, use a pillow on your tummy with a little pressure to cough or sneeze, stay up on your pain meds (you will heal faster), also don’t overdo things, but stay mobile. If you don’t your recovery will be twice as hard.
Im crying so much right now. Allie you did amazing, you’re a great mother. The most important thing is that the baby is healthy and you too. Love yah!! ♥️

I’m a labor and delivery nurse! I heard the arrhythmia and thought is this just me? That’s before I knew you had an emergency C/S. It was the right thing to do. Safest for the baby. I’m glad you’re doing better. We all have our plan for our delivery but the bottom line is we want a healthy mom and a healthy baby. I’m so happy for you! Most times the arrhythmia resolves itself so no worries 💕
This might sound weird but your comment gives me chills just hearing that you knew it was arrhythmic, I’m an LPN (3yrs) in progress of bridging to RN specifically to work in OB. It’s my biggest passion 🙌🏼

All HELL would have broke loss if you went into labor at home and you the baby died. The doctors and nurses had everything under controlled while monitoring both of you guys. The doctors and nurses saved both of you guys life by choosing a c-section. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses!!!

True, but when she was admitted the nurses already had a feeling/hint that something could possibly be a problem. So if she was at home (at least in the Netherlands) she would have been advised by the midwife to go to the hospital, instead of staying home and continue labour.
So I get what you're saying but I think things are never just so black or white like that.

In my 1st pregnancy I had an emergency csection with my daughter, too. It was really traumatic for me. You handled it so well...I cried for months. 😣
Now I’m expecting baby #3, had baby #2 at a birth center and VBAC, now I’m having a homebirth for baby #3! Praying over all us expecting mamas that we have safe l&d, and healthy babies! 💘

I’m sorry you had to experience that in your labor. The safety of your son and you were number one. Period. I know you understand that. This made me so emotional. My first pregnancy was scary and ended in a traumatic c section. Now I’m afraid to try for our second because I don’t want to go through the same thing. Us women really do go through the toughest things.
I'm just the same 😭 ended up in an emergency csection because I was having a placenta abruption during my induction. Hope your 2nd pregnancy is better 🙏

My first was an emergency section as well after 25 hours of labouring and getting to 9cm and then his heart rate dropped and I got sectioned. My 2nd i was 10 days over and because nothing happened they sectioned me. It was a completely different experience. I arrived at the hospital at 8:30 and he was born at 9:44. Currently pregnant with baby no 3 and booked in for a section at 39 weeks x
I'm so glad I never had to ever go through a C-section wit none of my 3 I already have and now I'm 3 months wit my 4th and he will be here in 6 more months I had all vaginal births wit epidurals it eased the concentrations a lil wit my 1st two but my 3rd baby I didn't feel her at all wen I was pushing but the contractions were very bad b4 I got my epidural I felt like I was in heaven wen I got it but wen I had to have her I felt the worse pain ever from my butt but I went through it now I'm ready again wit this lil boy I'm having now

Thank you for sharing your birth vlog. I know it is probably hard for you to relive. I just had an emergency c-section due to heart rate dropping every contraction. I wanted to do a natural birth like I did with my first and wasn’t prepared for even getting an epidural! I wasn’t knocked out, but was an emotional wreck the whole time. It was traumatic to feel them taking my baby out and my husband watched it all happen. I used to love birth vlogs and can’t watch them anymore. Too emotional. I watched yours because your story is so similar and it helps the grieving process to know other people have dealt with the same feelings. Beautiful baby boy! 💙

C-Section mama here, too! I laughed a little bit when you started laughing at calling baby the wrong name and said ow - totally a memory I forgot I had! Laughing and sneezing were the absolute worst on the incision site!

He’s beautiful. You’re amazing and you did a great job momma! I had a similar experience with a c-section my last pregnancy, and I was so upset about it all🥴, but later on a realized that my baby was here and healthy, and that’s what matters most ❤️

Congratulations Allie, this is beautiful. We have had c sections in the past. This one in March will be #4. With our last 2 I was in labor for about 8 hours and still had a c section. It was a process, but beautiful in the end. I'm so happy for you and your family.

I was born during an emergency c-section as well, only I was a preemie. I'm so glad he was able to make it to full term. He's so precious. 😄
He’s absolutely beautiful. When you said ouch the concerned look on your husbands face actually made me feel emotional. I hate anyone in pain or unwell it really bothers me but I’m so very glad you have someone who is going to take care of you while you recover. I hope the pain soon eases and you feel better soon. Congratulations! He’s beautiful ❤️. I also had a similar experience with my first, ending in an emergency c-section. It was really hard on me and I think it lead to my ppd. Currently pregnant with our second due in June, hoping for a better experience this time around. You are so strong and should be so proud! Sorry you had such a traumatic experience.

I recently had our 3rd baby and it started normal my water broke at home and then when I was at about 4 cm Ryden's heart rate dropped and we almost lost him, his heart was down for 6 mins and then they rushed me back to or and delivered him. I didn't get to see him for the 1st 3 days . You are awesome.

I totally understand that feeling of being scared, I remember having my clothes cut off me and then being put to sleep and my daughter being born. It’s the most surreal experience ever, I was in so much shock. I’m due my daughter in July and I’m told I need a c section again and I’m so scared! Congratulations, he’s absolutely beautiful xxxx

It was so scary to watch when you commented that you didn’t know at the time but could hear the arrhythmia in one of the earlier clips at the hospital. I felt for you so much! You make such beautiful babies. Emergency C-sections are scary, and physically draining to recover. My son will be 25 in a less than 2 weeks. He is my miracle baby. Give yourself permission to heal completely, that was major surgery! People sometimes expected more of me than I could do, “it was just a c-section” was tossed at me more than once, so common we forget it’s still major surgery. You look amazing! You are rocking this!! And Hudson is so adorable. Many blessings to you and your precious family.

He is so adorable - congratulation! This was a really helpful video for me, but also hard for me to watch, as your experience was so similar to mine with my second baby in so many ways. I also had an emergency c-section and could still feel things when they were starting the surgery and was then put on so many meds and I wasn’t fully conscious and wasn’t allowed to hold my baby until 5.5 hours after my little girl was born. Thank you for having the courage to share such an intimate and vulnerable time with all of us!

I had an emergency section with my first baby & the shock of a long labour and a total deviation from the water birth I had planned took a long time to get over but I eventually did. Here in the U.K., we can get the chance to discuss our labour and go through our notes with a midwife which is really useful for traumatic births - perhaps in the US you have a similar thing.

Im so glad you are both safe! My son was born in May and similar situation I was asleep for an unexpected csection so I see you its really hard when that moment is taken. My first was natural and the recovery of a csection is so much harder! 9 months post partum now and so appreciate this body more! Best wishes to your wonderful family

This same thing happened with my first child the same exact thing. I got to 8 cm his heart slowed way down and when they took me in for the c section after epidural I could feel them poking me too. They knocked me out and I woke up like it was a bad dream. I have ptsd till this day but ours babies are healthy and that’s all that matters 💙💙

I had an emergency c section, and felt my doc cut into me too! We decided last minute to do it, I started to vomit and shake uncontrollable. Epidural wasn’t enough- next thing I know I was hallucinating doors opening and closing. I woke up enough to say “why does everything keep repeating?” SUCH a crazy experience. Baby boy was in NICU for 3 weeks. It was an eye opening experience.

Watching you drive in the car and going through contractions brought back memories of my awful contractions in the car and waiting to go to the delivery room. I got to the hospital at 4:15am and had the baby a little after 5am. It is creepy how much it brought back memories.
