It’s the coaching STOOPID. NO ONE is playing for/putting their ass on the line for a “coach” who they all KNOW doesn’t have their back, who they don’t like, & who they know is only ‘in-it’ for HIMSELF. Bottomline. It’s the reality. It is what it IS. They were all DAMN GOOD players, until NOW… Hmmmmm… Wonder WHY, or HOW that is!? He was NEVER a “good” Head Coach. NEVER a leader of men. Only a “Coordinator.” Always was. Always is. And, always will be. It was ALL nothing BUT “smoke & mirrors” from Day-1… The WEAKEST the SEC East has EVER been for all throughout his entire CAREER. HE never had to play the LSU Game annually either (with the addition of A&M and Mizzu to the conference), as every other UK-Coach always did. HE had TOP of the line facilities, resources, & $$$$ for staff, Etc. Also, like EVERY other UK-Coach did NOT have. And, I can go on, but I won’t. 💯 The FANS and administration MUST make his life VERY uncomfortable and MISERABLE now, moving forward. PERIOD. End of Story.
This is why Mark Pope went for culture in the NIL era. Get the absolute best players that want to wear the Kentucky jersey and a modern offense and roll with it.
@@brandon2107 The biggest issue with UK is the low football IQ of fans. All the big boys are going to try to steal him from us. Time to open up the checkbook and give Stoops a raise and extension. It will help recruiting. Fans need to step up with NIL money too. UK fans are cheap and don't want to spend what it takes to contend.
Cat fans are a strange breed. In basketball they had the best players in the country, couldn’t win titles, and wanted to get back to kids proud to play for Kentucky instead of NBA talent kids. Now in football they want good transfers, and a coach who understands the new college game. Kentucky is an average team who may pull off an upset occasionally, but will usually be fighting Vandy for the bottom of the SEC. Now with Oklahoma and Texas in the conference that’s their fate.
This is three straight seasons of underperforming with this season being by far the worst of the three. Stoops has shown no signs of turning things around for the better. He gave us absolutely nothing to hang our hats on by the end of the season. In fact, the last game was the worst performance of the season with clear signs that he has lost the team. If Stoops had shown any signs of improvement by the final game of the season, then maybe you can justify giving him more time to turn things around. However, as of today, things have only gotten worse and I find it very difficult to justify moving forward with Stoops. Now, of course Stoops isn't leaving on his own at this point. The man makes $9 million a year here and at this point, leaving for what would even be considered a latteral move would be difficult for him. If he leaves, he's more than likely taking a cut in pay and "prestige" if you will. It will have to be the University that makes the decision to part ways and I fear that it may take the fans forcing the University to make that decision. If Stoops is getting another year and looks like he is, then we better see major improvements next year. Going 6-6 and simply making a bowl game doesn't cut it anymore. Stoops is currently the longest tenured coach in the SEC and is the 6th highest paid coach in the SEC. In my opinion, he doesn't have to win a SEC title or make the college playoffs but fielding and ending the season year after year inside the top 25 is a must. If he can't be competitive enough to at least end every season in the top 25 with all things considered, then it's time to move on.
This Louisville team is much better than the Lamar teams. Lamar was holding those teams together with all his might. Once he left we saw what happened. Also UK only won by 7 last year so not sure what Matt is talking about
It’s stupid for Barnhart not to include a performance contingent clause in the contract, as in Cal’s life time contract! Barnhart has been wasting massive money for years! He was lucky to get rid of Cal when Cal made a mistake in contacting Arkansas and gave Kentucky an excuse to get ride of him. What can you do with Stoops? The guy is apparently having no market at this point.
@@yitang5877Agreed. Stoops did that with Texas A&M, so why isn’t he gone, AD Barnhart? Stoops has been in over his head for the last four years. Everything has changed in college football. It’s too late for Stoops to learn how to do the job. Kentucky needs to move on from him quickly.
Don't understand Jones' comments about last years game. Every Louisville fan believes Louisville gave the game away. Most UK fans feel they stole the win. UK was losing to Louisville until the 4th quarter. Where is Jones getting that UK won last year's game "handedly"?
This offence has been so bad the last 3 years. How you recruit, how you get players to transfer in this offence? You have to overpay... and then you get players that care only about the money... The whole offense coaching staff needs to get firrd, and bring in people that you let them do their job and recruit their players!!
Did Stoops flirtation with Texas A&M last year violate his contract with UK in ANY way? If it did, wouldn’t that provide an opportunity to remove Stoops without paying him any buyout amount?
Kentucky did not beat Louisville handily last year. Needed everything to go right. Just face it, Louisville is the better program and the ACC is just as good as the SEC this year. Especially after watching the GT vs G game
We need a above average offensive line coach and a quarterback and running back. We need to have better NIL and more resources. And they need to do a better job at recruiting and the transfer portal.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Why more people don't see this is mind blowing. I guess most ky fans are happy with mediocrity.
Since these players are now professional, could fines become a way of getting their attention?
This is why Mark Pope went for culture in the NIL era. Get the absolute best players that want to wear the Kentucky jersey and a modern offense and roll with it.
9 million a yr speaks for itself come on
@@robmetcalfe8902 you could hire a winning coach for 9 million a year
He’s a blamer. Nothing is *ever* his fault. Not just this year.
Stoops needs to walk away from the Program. So we can find a good replacement who will fix these issues.
You need to walk away. True Big Blue fans are happy with Coach Stoops
@@ItsReallyJackBlack No they're not.
@@brandon2107 This dude is in Fantasy Land. He knows nothing. Probably some Troll.
@@ItsReallyJackBlack - If you're happy with Stoops, then you're the problem. Settling for "meh..."
Growth is realizing Kentucky is the new Vandy of the SEC 🤭😂
Also UK only won by 7 last year so not sure what Matt is talking about
Kick off return and 2 wheel routes were the difference
Ole Miss was a fluke win. We got whooped due to talent deficiency.
#9 highest paid football coach, btw.
Pony up
There are plenty of coaches who could go 4-8 for way less salary. 😊
@@LaLakers17we did and this was the product he produced. Unacceptable!!!
This program is S O F T .
Stoops seemed to lose confidence in his coaching ability when He DID NOT GET THE COACHING JOB HE REALLY WANTED instead of having to stay at UK.
Don't understand Jones' comments about last years game. Every Louisville fan believes Louisville gave the game away. Most UK fans feel they stole the win. UK was losing to Louisville until the 4th quarter. Where is Jones getting that UK won last year's game "handedly"?
He's got on them big boo glasses!!😂
Stoops 12 years ! Time to switch ! Just like basketball ! Change is good !
This offence has been so bad the last 3 years. How you recruit, how you get players to transfer in this offence? You have to overpay... and then you get players that care only about the money... The whole offense coaching staff needs to get firrd, and bring in people that you let them do their job and recruit their players!!
We've had 6 oc's in as many years. At what point do you stop blaming the oc and look to the hc
Did Stoops flirtation with Texas A&M last year violate his contract with UK in ANY way? If it did, wouldn’t that provide an opportunity to remove Stoops without paying him any buyout amount?
How much did coach stoopid pay brock vanderbiff??????????????? $800,000+.....Fire HIM yesterday!!!!
Kentucky did not beat Louisville handily last year. Needed everything to go right. Just face it, Louisville is the better program and the ACC is just as good as the SEC this year. Especially after watching the GT vs G game
FACTS!! 💯
Stoops has to go...period
We need a above average offensive line coach and a quarterback and running back. We need to have better NIL and more resources. And they need to do a better job at recruiting and the transfer portal.
I love Mark Stoops the man. He’s a phenomenal person and has been a great ambassador for the state and program.
It’s just beyond time for him to move on. It’s been a 2-3 year decline and that’s unacceptable in this era.
Is he really that good of a person? The dude cheated on his wife.
@ sure, so have a lot of people. I don’t think that makes you a bad person. It’s an embarrassing and really fucking awful thing to do but let’s not act like he’s some awful human being lmao
No he isn’t and it shows in his players. He is NOT a leader of men. Period. And, NO ONE is breaking their back and going to bat for HIM. He’s NOT a good dude at ALL. 💯 Has ZERO self-awareness. Arrogant, & etc. HE is one of those dudes who is “cocky” that has absolutely NO reason to be, and has a way over inflated opinion of himself. He’s a POS. NOT even a “good” Head Coach. Never was. And, NEVER will be. HE is a “Coordinator.” Nothing more. 💯
He is a horrible person. Look at him and how stubborn he is. If he cared about this program and the school he would leave. Instead he will throw everyone under the bus
@ oh I’m sure you’d turn down all that money too, huh?? Not a fucking chance you would
Why did stopps play all these freshman and didnt even try!
I think we need to give Stoops a put up or shut up year. If that don’t work out then let’s throw a bag of money at Jon Sumrall. Dudes done great with both Troy and Tulane. He has coached at uk as an assistant. Let’s go get this guy if it don’t work out.
44.4 million Buyout . Can you Dig it.
It will be too late. Sumerall will be getting a good job this offseason.
Are you sure its 44 million or is it 4 @@watchinglclowns9890
Let's work on the football program, just like we did the basketball program. GO BIG BLUE 💙💙💙💙💙
It is Kentucky football lmao. We just need to be competitive. Kentucky will never be at the top of the SEC.
The stench of Kentucky football is the only thing that has become offensive.
F
We need to spend money in the trenches both sides of the Ball.
Otherwise we are going to get boley hurt... Tim couch please TT cutter... We need him and he needs time to throw the ball..
#KSRoonly place to get the scoop
Stoops is going to screw us on his way out the door.
What was the deal with the black uniforms? Tradition out the door.
The BLACK uni's were because y'all are in mouring.
Watch what you wish for you all no what happen when Cal left the Kentucky fans wanted this coach or that one but they didn't get the ones they wanted so we got pope which is doing a great job just saying
We just need to get the right players on the field! Keep it the KY way! Gotta go back to the roots!
If the basketball team is doing well, the football issue will be quietly tolerated. We all just got on the football train because basketball sucked and now here we are. Blah blah and blah....
Stop the cap. He's making $9 million a year. UK has a relatively big and passionate football fanbase. It definitely won't be tolerated.
Just a bad time to be 4-8 especially with he new 12 team playoffs. Please consider Ken Niumatalolo if Stoops leaves. His style and how hew recruits to that system Ives us the best chance to be one of those 12 teams in a tough conference.
It's John Sumrall. Take your guy and leave.
@@kentuckydurbin3525 Im sorry are you telling me to take my guy, meaning Ken Niumatalolo, and leave? Not sure I understand?
@@JasonMorris-hk5lw It's JOHN SUMRALL, period. UK Grad. Success EVERYWHERE he's been. Excellent leader and communicator. His teams play FOR him, because they respect him. Period.... What in the hell are you trying to put forth????????????????????????????? P.S. Ken ain't happenin'............e v e r .
@@kentuckydurbin3525 Just putting forth an opinion just like you but you for sure take things a lot more serious than I do. I looked up Sumrall, agree he is a good one, just saying I like Ken and like his style especially since we with him would not have to out recruit/pay our stiff comp in the SEC. Looks Like Ken just took a new job anyway and Stoops is prob here for a little while longer.
Ya know, ya know, ya know
Mark Stoops is like what $10M a year? 😂🎉
Matt knows about sports as the man the moon ,but sometimes just sometimes mind u he's right
If they dont fire him, then brainfart doesnt want to win.
Barnhart should be fired then a AD come in that will fire stoops and force him out
Vandergriff is abysmal. Not sure how he played at all for UGA, even as a backup. But the WR corp is pretty unimpressive as well.
Vandagriff is a solid QB in a well-oiled machine like UGA, and he wasn't ready for almost zero protection here by the o-line. That's all
i knew he was garbage the first game of the season. People were just excited and opportunistic to hype him up.
@@Dominick-s2sI don't think Tom Brady could have done any better behind this line. Cutter proved that point yesterday.
Kentucky should have every resource any other school has.
The and coach both had no work ethic. Entirely over paid for the work they put in to it.
I couldnt believe after those fumbles and interceptions a change wasnt made at halftime to try to win
Season ticket holders should not renew next season. If fans don't show up, they will be forced to make changes. I'm just glad it's over.
Last year we shouldn't have won either. Stoops needs to leave and go somewhere else.
Think God we didn't play Indiana this year 😂
Indiana beat ONE team with a better than .500 record leading up to the smoking by OHIO STATE. Seems that you, like ALL SHEEP, bought the kool-aid that is iu football. There coach is better than stoopid, and he has them playing together, but their personnell is NOT SEC level. OVERRATED. Will get blistered in the playoff.
@kentuckydurbin3525 first of all I'll never drink IU Kool aid. I know who my enemies are, unlike you idiots who think UofL is our biggest rival. By your statistics, we would have lost to IU, because we're f___king below 500.
I say you gotta extend him he’ll figure it out for sure
Stoops will just ruin his legacy at Kentucky if he stays. If he left now, we would still build statues of him. If he stays another 3-4 years, we will curse his name.
Let's send him back to Ohio and send Ryan Day down this way I mean it can't get any worse than what we have now. He is paid 9m every year and all he knows how to do is lose
He needs to go
Stoops must go, we should have learned our lesson with Calapari! Stoops can’t stay!
It's gonna happen again if Stoops stays. Truly belive that. Hes done great, but change is needed. Just like basketball 🏀 program needed a change.
Stoops is where Calipari was a few years ago. At this point, I don't think there's anything he can say that won't frustrate the fans.
The difference is, who's the Mark Pope who will take this team back in the right direction if Stoops goes?
I don't feel like there is one out there. Fortunately, I didn't think Pope was the right choice and boy was I wrong!
Don’t think Cats handled them easily last year. It was tied in the 4th quarter, and the Cards were marching to tie it.
There is not another program in America that would pay Stoops one half of what Kentucky shells out.
Something has been off all season. Louisville is not better, Kentucky is just not playing up to their ability. They just didn't care. Not having a physical O-Line and RB was obvious. It's like nobody is stepping up, nobody is leading on the sideline or on the field. It seems like a seen bad attitudes by players. With as a horrible of year it's been. Kentucky Football fans support this program and want a championship team
Where's Vince The Dog, Someone Should Asked About Recruiting or Lack Of No#1 Problem.... O- line , quarterback , running back , receiver, D- line , linebacker , D B , Safety, Literally Everything 12 years in With A 44.4 million Buyout And A Coach Saying He's going Nowhere.... That's A Problem.... maybe time to leave SEC. Kentucky fan my entire life remember watching starting in 1974 Same Ole Trainwreck with A good Season Every now & then But Basically At This Point Well I Digress 🕔 Somewhere. 🎅.
The state of KY rarely has 2 or 3___ 4 Star ⭐ HS players per year and Zero 5 ⭐ players. That will always be the problem.
Oklahoma and Texas really hurts Ky recruiting in the SEC !!! We were barely getting buy on recruits before !!
Won’t ever go back to a Kentucky football game till he gone said this 2 years ago and haven’t
Are you a yUK English major???
Saban is available!
Ole Miss spent $10 million and a very bad UK team beat them on their home field. The $22 million is a short term fix. UK needs a minimum of $6-$8 million per year to simply tread water in a very tough SEC.
Matt Jones lied! The commentator didn't say he was shocked to see Kentucky get whooped at the line of scrimmage! He said, "It's hard to watch Kentucky get whooped at the line of scrimmage!" THAT'S 2 DIFFERENT QUOTES because no football fan is shocked to see Kentucky struggle at the line of scrimmage. There's an entire history of Kentucky struggling at the line of scrimmage in football.
How can you say Hanley last season when UL had twice as many yards two turnovers gave up kickoff TD Louisville gift wrapped last years game UK program was falling last year Clemson ran over UK in last years bowl game Stoops has been unable to keep offensive coordinator
Stoops really needs to go. Very similar to the Cal situation.
It's cold up on the bill board 0-10-1. Let the KSR peeps draw straws for next to go on Nicholasville Rd. That said, the toughest conference in the land. Stoops another year. He's great a clock management. We just need some offense.
He’s not a bad leader ! Butt!!!!!!! He needs a great ! Not good !!!! Offensive coordinator ! Your team lives and dies on coordinators !!!
Oh and Texas 8&4 rejected him and not the other way around that was just spin on the part of Stoop's agent. Some boosters at A&M got word there were serious talks going on with him and said hell no. Stoops this entire season and before it even started has appeared checked out. I think the no show job scandal, Liam Coen screwing them over by taking the Tampa job in February 2024 and Texas A&M rejection has caused him to appear BUT hurt all season. Frankly if he doesn't make significant changes in the program they'll go 4 & 8 next season too..
