If you need to remove or replace the serpentine belt on a 2.4 Multiair engine we will show you how to do that. We demonstrated how to remove and replace the serpentine belt on a Dodge Dart but the same 2.4 multiair engine has been used in Chrysler 200, Jeep Compass, Jeep Renegade, Jeep Cherokee, Fiat 500x and Fiat Toro. You have to securely support your engine if you remove the engine mount so it does not smash your hands or other body parts or cause damage to your car.

I just did this 2 days ago on my 2015 Chrysler 200 2.4 Multiair. Unless you have have arms and hands like a toothpick, you need to remove the passenger side tire and inner splash-shield.
That will make this job alot easier and gives you 100 precent access to the idler pulley for replacement. The splash shield is easy to remove. My 2015 had 128000 (thousand) miles on it. Both my pulleys were in perfect shape still.

Heads up! The tensioner pulley bolt is 16mm you need a 16mm box end wrench or a socket. It can be done without removing the tire and the fender well components and without removing the engine mount. All I did was remove the coolant reservoir. The trick is to start on the flat side at the tensioner with a loop going to the water pump and then down to the crank, AC, lower pulley amd then,finishing with the power steering and upper pulley using the tensioner. Do it on a cool engine with sunlight as I tried and failed doing it at night on a hot engine.

@@Unforgiven118 I ought to make a video showing my method as I’ve had to do this about five times now since I didn’t replace my pulleys and tensioner and I ended up paying the price. Then my AC quit working and had to do it again. Got pretty good at doing it haha

@@oscaralvarado8148 I’ve had some pretty bad luck lately. I had to have shoulder surgery, hand surgery and was just diagnosed type two diabetes and my liver is got problems and I don’t even drink. I’m usually in bed sick. I get up and feel weak and almost nervous. I wish I could’ve made a video before my health went to shit. Wife is trying to support us but she isn’t much better. I’m sorry for not making a video but the way I described does work and I’ve don’t it 6 times now easier each time.
