Timing is pretty smooth, the only real issues are when a bike wrecks and it falls off. We have people in place to check the transponder before every race and replace it if a problem arises. Sometimes a loop in the ground will have rf noise interfering with our equipment so we have to check for microphone cables and dirty power which creates emf noise
Very cool.
What kind of issues do you guys experience with timing during the event

So the leader light is a radio frequency and you guys manually trigger changes between riders?
At the start of the race we manually trigger it but we can also allow the decoders to trigger it which can be tricky if a pass happens between splits
