Great discussion. I grew up in the 80s so a lot of the music you guys mentioned is very nostalgic for me. I don’t believe that I heard Madonna mentioned, so I would have to add her. Her Immaculate Collection CD is amazing. I’ve always lean towards rock and metal but as I get older, I appreciate the pop from the 80s more and more. I’ve actually gone back and purchased a bunch of pop album from the era in recent years. One of these days I would love to be on your panel.

Great choice Peter Jones...The Scandal album like The Cars,Metal Church and Metallica albums from 1984 was a perfect album in what was my favorite year in music... Say What You Will,All I Want,Only The Young,Beat Of A Heart, Warrior..So many strong tracks..The Patty Smyth 1987 live show from Japan is actually the only clip I've ever uploaded to YT.
I forgot Mutt produced Heartbeat City. Not my favorite but definitely brought them to another level.

I'm so with you on Listen Like Thieves. It's the reason I'm an INXS fan 😊😊
And the self-titled Crowded House album. It's great. I like So too. As a matter of fact, I have all CDs still.
I'd throw Texas in the Mix
Arcadia "So Red The Rose " is pretty good. The Power Station, INXS "Kick", The Fixx "Reach The Beach" Simple Minds "Once Upon A Time"...
You're talking my language. I have Kick and Once Upon a Time. INXS is my favorite band, but I think Simple Minds is highly underrated.
