- Pavan Ahluwalia holds the Guinness World Record for being the fastest mehendi, or henna, artist in the world. She can make more than 500 designs in an hour.
She started at the age of 16, and developed her hobby into a well-established profession.
“I started doing brides when I was at university and people would say how fast I was. I asked my dad who said I should go for the world record which he absolutely supported,” said Ahluwalia, who has also done tattoos for celebrity such as Ellie Goulding.

Well, my friend's mehndi artist did 18 whole hands upto the arms and 4 feet in around 45 minutes... We were in a big shock then, but after seeing this I am sure she was fast as light!
God that's fast I am a beginner at mehendi when I did my friends mehendi for her wedding it took me 3 hours at least

When we visit super markets in india, you see Rajasthani boys there, they design many many customers in an hour, and the designs are so beautiful, mesmerizing and full.

@@Riya-l3c what u are not understanding is that here they are not counting designs of 500 different hands.. they are counting tiny and small designs which can be easily completed in 7 sec or even less than that.. i can do that easily.. and making 500 of those tiny designs is easy (not for me) but i can say my sister who is more experienced than me can do it easily..

@@ARMYGIRL-fx2wm dude my sis just drew a design in 5 sec.. and yes she can draw for straight an hour.. leave that.. i have seen henna professional artist do legs and hands, both with no space left in half an hour.. i tried it.. i did it in 7sec.. cuz here we are talking about small and tiny designs.. and I can confirm almost all my cousin can do it too.. even better than her.. u have never even held a cone of henna.. u don't know

I don't understand this world record. It's similar to the guiness book of world records for "The Fastest Violin Player." That record became defunct because there were too many variables involved. How do you judge speed, while also judging the quality of the sound? Just because "Flight of the Bumblebee" is a fast-paced piece, doesn't mean it's the hardest song to play. In this case, how do you judge the speed of the henna artist, while also judging the quality, size and complexity of the henna design? It's not that straight forward.

Faster than her does the street mehendi artist who never had the chance to get to study or do any far but as I saw my mom did a mehendi from the street artist it was something u would have never expected to see from them and it was far better design than this girl and they didn't even need 1 min to complete one hand!

I genuinely dont understand the credibility of fastness here. People who practice, have good hands will eventually become efficient and get faster with time, and that's excellent. However, at the end of the day, it also comes down to the range and quality of work that they can create for themselves and people and beyond what can their designs go. For example, I Mashallah have good hands for sketch and art, so naturally I have good hands for henna, however, without any doubt, its mostly work with patience and precision and time that I create the best of what I can, never mind the quantity. I do take time. But once I get with the flow, process speeds up. Practice makes perfect. I am mostly currently considering the diversity and range of designs now and to make my hands more flexible, as we know that's exactly how are we only able to become more faster and efficient with time.
There are much more faster mehndi artists than her in Mumbai & Navi Mumbai whose stalls are there in the malls & outside shops. You should've broadcasted them.
