The pistol you held up with the "built-in suppressor" is also the same one that came with covergirl, and it's called the 2011. You can call this the son of the classic 1911. This one can hold a double stack magazine, for more ammo. And the "built-in suppressor" it's actually just a muzzle device call a compensator, to mitigate harsh recoil. The primarily used for competition shooting, that's why they look the way they do.
When I saw that muzzle break my 1st thought was a Baretta 93R (due to the muzzle break) But then I notices the funny star on the handle and thought ah it's a Stacatto C2 / 2011 (or similar) with a weird looking High Performance Muzzle break stuck on it that it doesn't come with by default. But it is a very American gun so I guess it is appropriate. and Hawk did have Target shooting Badges so in a bonkers kinda way it makes sense he'd use that gun.
Hawk isn't the first figure in the line to get that shoulder articulation. I'm pretty sure Snow Serpent, Snow Job, and Mole Rat all have the same shoulder cup joint, it's something that McFarlane uses on their figures too. Arms pop out but easily pop back in too and give a much wider range of movement for the shoulder. I also don't see any resemblance to Dan Larson at all, that bearded Mr Fantastic looked more like Dan Larson to me.

They gave us the General version before the Colonel version. Hawk only had two ranks and maybe we will be getting the Colonel Hawk version with the MMS as that is what he can with in the original 3.34 line. Any ways I can’t wait to see what they do with him a younger version. I am definitely switching his weapons out with some Gridiron shotguns/guns, also good catch with the Tomax/Xamot hand re-use, I watch you and Bees Battlegrounds for figure reviews but you are top tier brother, keep up the great work.

I picked this guy up earlier today. Love him. Something about the helmet and jacket makes this a timeless soldier look. Like this design could have existed at any point in GI Joe’s history. These classic soldier designs just hit different.

This figure looks amazing! I love the shoulders! It’s going to be a big help on rifle placements, and now the shoulder looks closer to the neck, which is a problem that some figures have. I like *two* versions of Hawk - this one (his 1986 outfit - black hair and brown bomber jacket, and merely named ‘Hawk’), and his (early) 1991 outfit (sandy hair and green flight suit, and renamed ‘General Hawk’ - adding his title and rank to his code name) [in the UK, this version’s character art stayed the same, but, in lieu of his *traditional* accessories, he now had two spring loaded handheld missile launchers, that came with the Crimson Guard Immortals].
nice review, I was hoping for the 82 version, but this looks fine. better than the 80s version in every way, especially the colour scheme. older look, more realistic, better armed, more details, the choice of weapons is also appropriate. cool to include different goggles and helmet. the new colours really fit better as a whole, one glance tells you they re a team. Grunt and Nunchuck look just fab together, Hawk will complete in harmony. the 80s flashy green pants now look clownish in comparison. the shoulders are promising, more flexibility in the future. one day, it d be cool to see you show your Joe - Cobra team together, now that we have both leaders, it could look like a realistic agent review, lol. it does nt need to be all the collection, just a team that you like best. it s always one of my best scenes, a leader in front of troops in formation, and now, it will def look better than ever! good show bro, and get well!

Hawk is the first Classified figure I bought. I also bought the Gridiron loadout for him. I like the Tommy gun and pistols better than what he came with.
Interesting gripe that the Joes post 2022 seem to be shorter and shorter. I would say that Shooter has been the tiniest of the classified that I’ve personally collected I find, followed by Scarlett in the same line. I preorders Abernathy and waiting on them to arrive still. I’ve seen one video of a person saying that the gen Hawk figure has QC issues in the arm peg area ala Cover Girl, Dusty v1, and Zarana so I’m hoping mines don’t have that issue. If so, I’m going to scale back on doubling order these figures to keep one mint condition and in box because it’s of no value to have in box that you want to sell and no one wants them b/c they know the classified line in 2023 has had a variety of QC problems, I’ve even seen people have major issues in their Agent Helix with there being disconnected arms form the figure. I think that’s ridiculous for the cost of them to begin with. Hopefully I will not have problems with mine or the Ripper figure, and Buzzer figure.
I did not say that they were smaller, someone else is telling people they are and it’s not true. Some are, but Classified has always had different size figures.
“O-Rings were made in the 80s get over it” 🤣 I love it. I had the O-Ring line including Abernathy and I don’t want to go back to that scale or design. Leave it in the 80s-00s. I wanted them to modernize the classic O-Ring figures and wish they hadn’t gone back to remaking the O-Ring figure in six in scale less the O-Ring design vs the general classified 6in designs like they started out. Retro card is nice and all in 6in and I have a few of those too but I like the modernized take they were going with for classified line
I have no issues with 1:18 scale, I like it. But if it doesn’t come back I won’t be upset, and if it does come back, I will probably collect much of it.

I’m also excited wjth the upcoming retro scarlet as they all seem to have all new import like articulation which I’m all for that when done right

Snowjob has those Joints too. I've not had an issue with Snowjob or Big Ben. their arms are in pretty tight. The only question is will Hawk beat out Snowjob for Legend of the Year (My personal list and pick, so unofficial. Or official to me.) That list is going to be hard to do. Then when Helix came I was like crap!!! This figure is way way better than I thought it would be. So all kinds of confused. And I am not counting out Mutt just yet. They say January. But that dude could come sooner. You never know. I didn't even expect Lowlight to be as good as he is.

@@Apunkwithtoys To be honest we must watch different Movies as prior to the multi round ones you see these days the one I'd other wise most often see were break open single shot ones or the lower caliber ones used on M-16's I wouldn't have recognised this model and it's not got any obvious features of a launcher like a ladder sight for example. It's not like they are that great with weapon scales so I don't think it is unreasonable for someone to think this is an over-size 10 gauge shotgun.
I wish this was the one figure to not have QC issues. Unfortunately for me, my Hawk had the big pair of goggles with a splotch of silver paint on the top rim of the goggles that is supposed to be black. And a really bad grey paint smear from the shirt collar all the way down the bomber jacket to the mid-chest in 3 separate lines on the let side next to his nameplate. This is the WORST paint app mess Ive ever seen. It's cleaning up okay with dry rub eraser but Im going to have to go to the acetone/alcohol to clean it up completely.

one thing i used to do was take the helmet from the '91 Grunt and put it on '86 Hawk. It looks way better than the bulky helmet.

Strange that they use Storm shadows bow drawing hands. Crazy about them drop down shoulders. Not a huge fan of the yo Joe logo.
