This was sooooo great! I'm sick of so much pseudoscience! I applaud your willingness to do this. Your father was wonderful. And he has great hair! Michelle is truly great. I go to her for all information about beauty products after I hear some sketchy stuff. I did buy a dollar tree ProSilk Purple conditioner to try waiting for this video! Thank you!!!
I’m from Canada like you. Nice you had Michelle and your dad. He has the same pleasant personality. You smile so easily and can tell you love the beauty industry
Yay!! I was hoping for this kind of video. Thank you, Michelle, for your willingness to participate in this live event and share your expertise! I first learned about you, from Gabi & now watch both of your channels! Joao, it was nice to meet you and hear about your background, about the difference between chemists & chemical engineers and hear your perspectives, as well. I think it's great that you are supportive of Gabi & are open to venturing into the social media space! Now, I need to go wash my hair. LOL 😂 🤣
I'm really enjoying the questions that dad has asked and Michelle explaining how deceptively hard it is to test things on hair. Who would have thought it would be so hard? No wonder some of us have such a hard time figuring out haircare that works for us, even if we can figure out a really complicated skincare routine.
Love your real channel….love that you include the knowledge of your Dad…..he is amazing….and Thankyou for asking real questions and considering real concerns….Michelle was a great choice to impart information.
Your dad is such a blessing to you. What a great relationship you have with him. It made me miss my dad, who passed, but it made me smile to see your bond.
Hi Gabi, this was incredibly educational.. Your dad and Michelle are so smart and wonderful. You sure bring some very relevant and interesting content on your channel. Thank you so much Gabi!!! You are amazing!!!
Wow! Such a fantastic video. So full of information and such a great learning opportunity. Thanks to Michelle for coming. Gabi, thank you for bringing us such an informative video. Your dad is incredible and did such an outstanding job. He brought information to us in a manner that we could understand it. He is a star!
Love this video so much! Thank you to you and your sweet dad and Michelle who I didn't know about. Love your channel so much. Hi from Pickering Ontario
I have been searching for cruelty free hair products , in the bigger brands Garnier and Fudge are both cruelty free .I have found more luck with indy brands being cruelty free than the larger brands .
Gabi I'm new to your channel and I so appreciate how entertaining, topical and informative your videos are! Thank you for introducing Michelle to me, what a great resource you both are in navigating the product choice we have. This video is a perfect balance of 3 really smart and informed people who know how to communicate in an understandable way. Thank you!
If anyone is curious I find vanicream hair products to be pretty bomb, and great for allergies. I have curly hair and love the gel. Enjoyed this so much!
@turnbacktime65 they have shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, and a hairspray that I know of. I've used the conditioner too and it's actually quite nice. If it were put into an expensive bottle I'd never know the difference!
I kind of wish she would’ve named some products with amodimethicone in it. I watch Michelle and Ty for having her and her dad to your channel. I really liked this video.
No, it's just the type of hair. Low porosity hair is water-resistant and has a harder time absorbing moisture. If you have low porosity hair you might notice frequent buildup and that your hair takes a long time to dry. High porosity hair can easily absorb moisture but it has trouble when it comes to holding onto it.
I get turned off with a huge high end brand that has a strong fragrance in their skincare products. Fragrance doesn’t need to be in skincare though a little can help . However, strong fragrance is not needed. At the price , they should know and do better.
I’m hoping I can learn something new…. I need help in stopping my hair loss. My shower is covered everywhere with hair….. Help! I am slowly going bald, I’ve lost have my hair and as a senior with now thin hair it’s not something I can afford to lose! It’s been going on for a good year now! P.S. When this started I was dealing with very uncontrollable grease hair…needing washing every 2 days! I’ve been ION DETOX shampoo which has controlled the greasiness beautifully!
Hi there, I can only tell you about my own hair-loss problem last year. I went to my dermatologist who tested my iron levels. She said the level was lower than the “optimum” level for the body to grow hair. So I went on prescription iron tablets for about 3 months and the hair loss stopped. I also now eat beef once per week (after having been a vegan), and take liquid B-12 daily. When I think about it, I cook and re-heat food with cast iron pans. Several months later, my hair is still fine! I hope you find something to work for you.
I understand testing is important for safety but then if safety is the issue how can results from a rat, for example, be accurate enough to say it’s safe for humans? There are plenty of people who donate their body to science which I am sure a lot of tests could be done and logic and basic knowledge of chemicals should be factored in, unfortunately I think money is the biggest factor, which is sad.

Do curly hair girls need use special shampoo and conditioners and silicone free as pushed on us??
Does high porosity hair need more moisture or more protein? And what's the best way to balance both?
Thanks for this! I've shared it on my FB Curly/Wavy group. P.S. Your dad is gorgeous!
Michelle looks so bored during the intro.
You clearly have much love and admiration for your dad. Its lovely to watch.
If anyone is curious I find vanicream hair products to be pretty bomb, and great for allergies. I have curly hair and love the gel. Enjoyed this so much!

So does damage create high porosity hair? And is low porosity hair considered healthy?
No, it's just the type of hair. Low porosity hair is water-resistant and has a harder time absorbing moisture. If you have low porosity hair you might notice frequent buildup and that your hair takes a long time to dry. High porosity hair can easily absorb moisture but it has trouble when it comes to holding onto it.
