Hey Jasmine, I had similar issues and just had periodontal surgery last month in the US. It took two weeks before the sutures were removed, and for the first week I was on a liquid/yogurt/applesauce diet. I no longer have bleeding when brushing and my gums are no longer inflamed. This is ‘surgery’ so they require your passport in the event you need to be hospitalized from surgical bleeding or effects of anesthesia complications. The braces are dependent upon good bone and gum health. Stay Blessed Babes.
I knew that recovery time would be extensive lol thank you for providing a personal testimony. Definitely holding off until I can rest up for a few weeks comfortably.
There’s a lot of fear mongering and projection happening in these comments so let me clear up a few things. 1️⃣ They weren’t saying I need the surgery the same day of my appointment. From my X-ray, the dentist could see that the gum disease has already spread to my bones. This is an operation that must be scheduled in ADVANCE with the surgeon. 2️⃣ This is a highly respected and sought after dental clinic in Istanbul and I chose them SPECIFICALLY for their expertise in gum health 👩🏽⚕️ 3️⃣ This was a 5 hour dental visit crammed into a 40 minute video. Of course not every little detail made it into the final edit. 4️⃣ You don’t get a 30 year flawless track record by doing shady business ❤ Just to clear up any confusion, I was in great hands ☺️ info about the clinic is listed in the description.
I trust you know what’s best for you. You’ve lived with your mouth and know the problems that may have occurred over the years. I really like how they did the X-ray and showed you. This looks like a very expensive place but as you say you do your research. Good luck. ❤
We trust you. 😊 The Turkish in general have a reputation for great services with the most affordable prices. I would rather fly there to receive care lol. I finally had a dentist appt back in the States in Georgia for X-rays of my wisdom teeth and a cleaning. Tell me when I got to my appt, they gone say oh we didn’t have time to do your cleaning today despite scheduling an appt exactly for one 😑.
Hi Jasmine, I had periodontal disease and had the same procedure on one side of my mouth and I had bone loss in the USA. It cost me 3K with insurance in the US. That was 6 years ago. I learned from that exeperience to floss daily, no soda, brush 2x a day, and use a very soft toothbrush. No other surgeries needed. All the best.
Yes you need to get this done ASAP!!! Periodontal disease , periodontitis can kill you fast if the infection gets into the blood stream… it also causes bad breath… please don’t neglect your health… this is so serious so glad your getting the medical attention you need
That dental office was phenomenal! Super detailed in explaining your situation. 🙏🏽 Glad you are aware of your treatment plan. Don’t put it off for too long!
Yes, I always bring my passport with me wherever I go when I’m out of the country… I never know if I will need it for any situation that presents itself while I’m out or even if some kind of emergency happens and I need to flee the country or something and I cannot go back to wherever I’m staying at while in that country.. Also God forbid if someone was to steal it while you’re away from you items it can be a headache to get another while you’re in another country and need to get back to America in a hurry… That’s just me though, I always keep it on me no matter what
Gum disease is pretty serious. You can reverse it with flossing and being vigilant about carefully brushing. Electric toothbrushes have timers and you brush in quarter sections for 30 seconds each. The brush vibrates to let you know when to move on. Brush each individual tooth. The US is super expensive when it comes to dental care so if they will do it at a reasonable price get it done there. Worry about the cosmetic aspect after your mouth is healthy again. Good thing you caught it in time. Also, sometimes it is genetic. Stay on top of it and you will be good. Flossing is key.
Yes, thank you for mentioning the genetics aspect. Turns out gum disease runs in my family 🧬 so no matter my efforts, it seems as if this was inevitable 😆
@@itsjasminegiselleit is evitable, its all about accumulation of dental plaque near your gum and under it. gingivitis is reversible with better hygiene, periodontitis (loss of bone and gingival recession) is not. need surgery for the gum

Hello, love following your travels. I too was told by a doctor here in the US that I needed to have this procedure, but he wanted to give me 6 months to try a different dental cleaning routine. He said for me to purchase an electric toothbrush, use sensodyne toothpaste, carry dental picks in purse, and use Crest prohealth or Act mouthwash. I also purchased a home dental pick cleaning that I do twice a month. I do not drink sodas or sweet things and drink lots and lots of water a day. It has been 5 years since we had that conversation and he said things are looking good. You could probably do a different routine while traveling to other countries.
Jasmine thank you for sharing your dental experience in Turkey. The only way to prevent periodontitis is to daily floss and brush, using a soft brush. Food and debris can become trapped between and under your gums causing plaque buildup. Having a waterpik helps, but brushing and flossing is paramount to preventing gingivitis and gum issues.
@@CallmeQuayZYes. Periodontal disease is no joke. Everyone is different. You can have a great oral hygiene routine and still be prone to have gums tissue problems. If you are a smoker you have a higher chance of having oral problems too.

@itsjasminegiselle you are hilarious! Your reaction to the video they showed you about the procedure was so real and authentic. It had me cringing too. 😂 Also, I can relate to the overall experience. I went to the dentist two weeks ago for a cleaning, then they started talking about, hey you need implants. If you go through with your treatment plan, then I guess I can too. ☺️ Safe travels to Morraco!
They seem very knowledgeable, caring and genuine. The fact that you needed numbing for a routine cleaning is a clear indicator that something is seriously wrong. Good thing now, is you can correct the issue.
That was the most beautiful mall I have ever seen! Thanks for the video. I go to the dentist every 6 months as scheduled. The dentists are trying to save your teeth and your health. Periodontal disease can lead to so many other diseases. Follow the plan, brush and floss twice a day and keep your teeth. I had a below the gum scaling years ago, it didn’t hurt much at all. Because I had the same dentist for years I trusted their judgement because I felt the difference. Thankfully I still have my teeth!
So, so gorgeous. I’ll definitely be returning ✨ happy to catch it while ahead. Heavy on the dentist are here to SAVE your teeth not harm it 🦷🦸🏽♀️ thank you for watching ☺️
This was a very informative video on a healthy mouth ! A healthy mouth will prevent trouble in the future ! I must go and thank you for sharing your experince !
Good video. I’m here in Istanbul. We’re almost at our three month window. I was told that I need to go to the dentist and do all my check up while I was here. Kind of wish I did maybe when I come back from my Istanbul trip. I hope and pray everything goes well for you
Some countries such as Panama, you have to carry your passport or your residence card. They want to find out if you’re there legally and they do random stops. Cool video
I had similar issues after college (I'm now 51!) b/c I hadn't really gone to the dentist for a few years. I didn't need surgery but had to go to multiple scaling sessions that were quite uncomfortable. Since then, I've been pretty obsessive but I'm surprised they were so focused on "brushing" as opposed to flossing. I feel like flossing regularly changed my entire dental landscape. I use those flossers (I think they not be that great for the environment, but they are amazing) and always have one near by. After a while, you end up not being able to deal with having stuff in your teeth and you become addicted to them. I am not a crazy brusher since the floss really takes most of the plaque out. I also get a cleaning 3 times a year b/c I got lots of plaque behind my bottom front teeth. Anyway, good luck!!! Love the content!
then when you have a urgent problem for example with implants, no dentist will accept you as a patient because you did the job somewhere else and they dont want to make the follow up of the job of another dentist (logical)
@itsjasminegiselle Yes, I observed the older women in my family from my mother to my great grandmother and aunts, noticing they all had dental issues, and many have dentures now. I'm 41 and need to take my healing journey seriously again. My teeth are holding on to me, though I'm sure I need exactly what you was offered as far as the cleaning under the gums the surgery. I do believe it can also be cleared up with a proper diet and herbs. My gums no longer bleed, but I do need other work. Speaking healing and wellness over you. 🫶🏽👑
There is a dentist on TH-cam that says everyone can reverse anything. It seems crazy and so simple her suggestion. Crest toothpaste(cavity original one), ACT mouthwash, and Listerine mouthwash. She does suggest using both mouthwashes after brushing. And she likes manual toothbrushes. Someone else I watched used a $12 toothpaste that was fluoride free. That’s all I have
My mama use to tell me treat your teeth like dentures. Brushing and flossing after every meal vs twice a day is the better practice. I use to think she was crazy till I started having dental issues then i thought the lady knows what she's talking about. ❤
Damn so it’s not just America. ALL the dentists in search of a bag. Everytime you go they’re suggesting a plan and a “surgical procedure” that takes three visits.
@@TheAudioFablesactually no, not fully. But that doesn’t make what I said less true. It was a general comment about DENTISTS to increase engagement. If I can’t watch the entire video I leave a random comment for support. If that’s ok with you.
Hello Jasmine, I need to go back and look at all your other videos I missed. I see you back in Turkey. Girl how much does they charge for teeth because I need new teeth - I could hardly eat.
Hey new subscribers here! I❤your channel, I have binge watched your videos . Question: how much will you be saving getting your teeth surgery done there versus the US if I’m not asking too much? Thx 🙏🏽❤️
Jasmine, Your earrings are Goorrgeous. In regards to the passport issue, i have mixed feelings about it. I travel a lot lot. Sometimes I keep it locked up in my luggage because what if someone snatches my purse. Then there other times when I think what if I make an expensive purchase and want to claim duty free or have a medical emergency; thats when I carry it with me. So idk🤷♀️
I didn't expect you to have surgery today either 😅 the place is beautiful and I saw that Popeyes 🧐. Will you get a second opinion? Good luck on what ever you decide and I can't wait for your next trip. Travel 🧳 safe
I think you’re in love with Turkey I’m of the opinion that if in case you decide to relocate from the US you might consider Turkey 🇹🇷 I don’t know but I can tell you really love it there.
I get not wanting to carry your passport everywhere but living in another country now, I realize the importance a bit more. It is your ID but they may also check (checkpoints) for your entry stamp. So a photo of your passport may not always suffice. I haven’t seen it mentioned yet but you can order a passport card which I always carry on me. It’s like a card version of your passport (numbers ARE diff) and it’s like $15. Get one!
I enjoyed watching this video, but my heart went out to you when you were understandably concerned about the surgery. It’s a bit scary, especially with a new dentist in a foreign country. Everyone treated you well and really seemed kind and caring. I liked the nice Turkish people that you met while waiting for your dentist appointment.
Girl a few weeks before I left for East Africa, I had to drop $3790 for dental work and still have to get additional work done. I take care of myself, but I guess over the years as you age ish happens. Thank GOD I have the money because dental work is EXPENSIVE asf!!!!
Please don’t do anything but cleaning. You have a beautiful smile! There after, invest in an electric toothbrush and flossing regularly and you’ll have a healthy mouth.
I got the same thing done here in the US. It really does get rid of the issues she’s having. And my insurance covered a Phillips electric toothbrush and water flosser which was highly recommended after he procedure. I think they told her correctly.
I knew there was a reason why I was having anxiety about where you've been! Cause gurrrrrllll...the dentist just ain't my cup of tea!😅 I'll see you on the next one! You in your own here! 😳 😂
our family has history of periodontal disease, I had both wisdom teeth extracted with laughing gas, thank god Mama was with me... its scary for sure!!!!!! hang in there baby girl. I had the bleeding gums until I started using Paradox toothpaste. best ever.
I always take my passport with me until I receive my residence card for my new country (American living in Europe). I can tell you from first-hand experience that no one cares about our US DL when it comes to important things. Even though I take my passport with me, I always try and see if my DL will work, and sometimes they accept it, but most times, no. 😅
The people of Turkey are beautiful kind people business is businesses if you are in the US or abroad it does not matter Turkey is known for the best hospitality in the world I LOVE the content don’t stop posting
It's your official form of ID that allowed you to enter the country (whichever country you're visiting) legally. While it's ok to have your DL (some grocery stores etc. may ask for ID when making a purchase), your passport was scanned at the border, not your DL. You can take a copy of your passport with you if you feel you might lose it, but I don't trust leaving it behind in these hotel safes. 😅
Hi Jasmine I’m new to your channel and I like watching your adventures of travel. If you needed all of this work on you teeth why didn’t the dentist in Mexico tell you this? Why didn’t they ask to see your medical records to see what the old dentist did? For you to go the first time and say you need surgery and attempt to do surgery the same day isn’t that questionable? Get a second opinion remember your in a foreign country and people take advantage of this. You have a lovely bubbly personality ‼️😊😊
Floss Floss Floss !!! is the thing many don’t think is important. But it soooo is because that’s what ultimately causes your problem. They will put you under local anesthesia and you’ll be totally fine girl… get a sensitive toothpaste. You could also get a prescribed toothpaste (it’s something that will be preventive… I think it even reads that on the tube) Make sure you always follow up. Again local Anesthesia is the shot she was talking about… you won’t feel a thing just stay on top of your oral hygiene like nobody’s business moving forward. lol you got this girly. 💪🏾
passport is something you should always keep with you in case of an emergency and you have to get out of any country your not from. you should always make a copy as well if you don't want to carry it but girl that passport is like a arm and leg

@@TheAudioFablesactually no, not fully. But that doesn’t make what I said less true. It was a general comment about DENTISTS to increase engagement. If I can’t watch the entire video I leave a random comment for support. If that’s ok with you.
Wonderful treatment! How much did it cost?
Did they discuss price and if something goes wrong????
Good video.. You can keep a copy of your passport on you… I’m surprised they need to see it!!
I keep a copy, don’t trust keeping the real thing on me 😆
@@itsjasminegiselle girl I understand!!
That's how the office is so elaborate. Patient compensation.
As it should be.
That’s a pretty bougee dentist office. So cool U r blessed ❤
Thx 🙏🏽❤️
Jasmine,
Your earrings are Goorrgeous.
So idk🤷♀️
Wish you all the best- that place was beautiful
Glad you're taking care of your teeth. It's one of the best things you can do for yourself.
My granny always told us "be true to your teeth or they'll be false to you"!!! 😁
Best wishes gurl❤❤
Thank youuuu 🤗
I didn't expect you to have surgery today either 😅 the place is beautiful and I saw that Popeyes 🧐. Will you get a second opinion? Good luck on what ever you decide and I can't wait for your next trip. Travel 🧳 safe
I think you’re in love with Turkey I’m of the opinion that if in case you decide to relocate from the US you might consider Turkey 🇹🇷 I don’t know but I can tell you really love it there.
YESSS to the enhancements!!! Your smile is going to looks amazing get a one n done and remove all the bad teeth and gums love!
Thank you ☺️ I definitely can’t wait for the day I have perfect teeth 😁
Jasmine Merhaba! Can you please give the cost of meals, yr dental treatment, cost of living there...thnx😎
My friend had dental work done in Istanbul she has friends there. She stayed 21 days.
How much did it cost?
I always carry a paper copy of my passport when I leave the hotel when travelling abroad...just in case
What was the cost of the procedure?
Girl a few weeks before I left for East Africa, I had to drop $3790 for dental work and still have to get additional work done. I take care of myself, but I guess over the years as you age ish happens. Thank GOD I have the money because dental work is EXPENSIVE asf!!!!
I think Sophiology did dental surgery in Turkey as well at prime dental she can see it on her TH-cam channel
Notice how none of them have veneers 👀
Atlantic Dental is highly rated!
Don’t judge a Book by its cover. Have you heard of false advertisement?🤔
On...
Girrrl do not do it. They are bamboozling you! I wish I caught this vid live to warn you.
That whole surgery video would have been enough to send me running out the door so fast. My dental anxiety is above the limits!!⁰
😂 I nearly passed out
Would have sent me straight in my purse for my credit card.
our family has history of periodontal disease, I had both wisdom teeth extracted with laughing gas, thank god Mama was with me... its scary for sure!!!!!! hang in there baby girl.
The people of Turkey are beautiful kind people business is businesses if you are in the US or abroad it does not matter
Turkey is known for the best hospitality in the world
I LOVE the content don’t stop posting
Get a second opinion, PLEASE!!!!!
So for us that are interested in going to this Dentist how much would Office visit be?
It would depend on what you’re getting done.. The consultation itself is complimentary. All of their contact info is linked in the description.
jasmine gurrlll love u😘😘😘😘😘
I want those earrings. Gorgeous!!!
The signs literally says eatally in the food court area lol am I the only one who caught that 😅 like Italy but eatally 😂
Eataly is a high-end restaurant. We have one here in Las Vegas.
And new york
😎cool
Shout out to Kelly Stamps for making me want to try their tiramisu 😂
They have state of the art technology. I like that.
Why were so many people in the office with you when the doctor was talking to you?
Even the owner was in the room lol
Ive heard from other travelers that carrying your passport on you at all times is a must. Maybe look into it. Im not exactly sure why.
Did you have the surgery and how was it?
Hi Jasmine I’m new to your channel and I like watching your adventures of travel. If you needed all of this work on you teeth why didn’t the dentist in Mexico tell you this? Why didn’t they ask to see your medical records to see what the old dentist did? For you to go the first time and say you need surgery and attempt to do surgery the same day isn’t that questionable? Get a second opinion remember your in a foreign country and people take advantage of this. You have a lovely bubbly personality ‼️😊😊
Floss daily...use an Electric toothbrush...use a Waterpik...
Everyone hated going to the dentist 😂
Thank you
i heard Turkey do good work on the teeth
Dang, she ate with you so you didn't change your mind. WOW
No way I travel abroad without my passport on me plus I have a copy that’s in a safe of my destination
Who are all the people in the room. Wow
Of course they had to throw a cavity in😢
Not everyone is out to get you ❤️
@@itsjasminegiselleThey are, tho. I didn't like how she said "everything."
wisdom teeth are connected to your heart you do need them. each tooth is connected your organs
Good luck @itsjasminegiselle! Btw, those earrings are 🔥🔥❤
Thank youuuu 😍🥰
Hi Jasmine ❤❤❤❤❤❤
That procedure takes months to heal.
You're just trolling now. Go touch some grass or something.
passport is something you should always keep with you in case of an emergency and you have to get out of any country your not from. you should always make a copy as well if you don't want to carry it but girl that passport is like a arm and leg
