Tunisian people are very friendly ! 👍
I am Tunisian and I am telling you, for the love of god stop following strangers!! And if they say 50, you say 10 and pretend to leave ...
I will be visiting there soon, and will be staying in the Port El Kantaoui area.
Which flea market I can visit which is close by?

i like how u are spreading positive vibes through our country
I just love it and it wormed my heart when you said Inchallah is your favorite word.
This guy looks more Tunisian than the Tunisians themselves !!!

Right?😂 Am tunisian and i approuve that😂😂
The inside of that building was really really nice with all that architecture 👍
"Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is a folk tale in Arabic added to the One Thousand and One Nights in the 18th century
I have to read into that one!
They called him Hi Baba which meach Hi Bro ..we use the word Baba casually to call out our dudes ..Baba means Dady simply..that has nothing to do with Ali Baba

In this fabulous flog i feel i am walking with you watching wonderful places stores tunisian people were helpful and welcoming . Note you did not stop in such restaurants this video . Thank you and go ahead
Love all your videos, your always such a positive guy and are very friendly. Keep making the content , your inspiring me to visit places ive never seen before. And i like how you keep it real and raw
Chris is a real Bro. Love you from Tunisia.
I doubt many people would be as generous to give a tip and not buy anything, you’re a rare one sir! Getting scammed, so we don’t have to!
Great video, hope you’re both enjoying yourselves. Ps those fez keychains are the cutest thing I’ve ever seen 😂
Past life I was born in Tunisia 😅😅😅 you’re very welcome brother . I’m from Tunisia but I live in USA now
Hey there, I'm tunisian. So starting with your first day in tunisia, the juice you got is expensive, it should b 5DT or little more not 9DT.
For this video, the prices that the first guy gave you, are good. other things are acceptiable. the price they gave you for the whole set is good, but for the shirt only that's a little expensive, 35DT not 45dt. the flag price was really cheap compare to other places, so I think he liked that you're getting Tunisian flag and gave you a nice price, but you were generous and gave him a tip anyway, that was nice to watch.
The price for the hand of Fatima at the end is also good, you compare them to the other ones but it's not the same work, it's not the same materials, and it doesn't last as long too.
Thank you for the video , we appreciate your videos and marketing you did for our beloved Tunisia and other countries. 🙏♥
Hi Chris. As a Tunisian, I must say that in this Market you bought products with the right price. Honnestly the sailers in the Medina Market of Tunis did not tried to scam you, they gave you same prices as for Tunisian customers. Those 3 items you want to buy for 20 dinars cost 35 dinars from the workshops of artisans. The rules of Sailors in Tunisia is that they sail their products by adding 35% comparing to the prices of purchse for the vendors. the sailing price with 35% of benefits and they must pay 18% of the benefit as taxes to the Gouverment. Normally It's prohibited to exceed the rate 35% regarding benefits .
Hi mate. I think the prices are very expansive.
Watch his previous videos
• He got charged 60 Dinars from Tunis Carthage airports to HB Avenue !!!!!!!
• Almost charged €20 to take a picture with an eagle !!!!
That too he’s wearing is not more then 25 Dinars.
We can see the material ain’t the best.
• 72 Dinars for then three items !!!!! Shouldn’t be more 18 dinars.
They can make profit but don’t over charge the tourist
No wonder lots of them are going somewhere else.
Those people in the medina don’t know how to do business.
Top expensive...Real theft
Are you the guy from the shop 😂😂
They are not expansive same prices for Tunisians
aight out with it which of these shops were yours. 18 percent tax is outrages how is government going to control tax with cash payments when european government cant even control tax on payments in cash
I am happy that you are happy with the purchases you made 🙂👍
That guy at the end would definitely piss me off. I get its a hustle but I would not handle it near as well as you. Great video though Chris!
It is the CULTURE in North Africa.
More videos in tunisia please ❤
Yes!!!!
@@Travelwithchrisbecause you look like an alibaba 😂😂😂
Got to respect the hustle. I use to go to the mercado in Juarez. It was so much fun.
My favorite series !! Glad to see another market video hope your doing well brother
I have another one coming as well, as of right now! I still have some of my best Tunisia videos to come!
@@Travelwithchris can’t wait !! Looking forward to it
I rate you for tipping them so much you know; that's respectful. I also love when someone being honest, that makes me wanna tip them even more fr
Absolutely! 🙏🏻
I was dying to shop those gorgeous bags and souvenirs in that gentlemen shop that was trying to push the plate, ashtray and small vase. His shop was gorgeous! Gorgeous ❤
Great videos. You got me thinking about visiting North Africa. Tunis looks really nice.
You are such a happy go lucky guy! So friendly. Do you ever meet up with a local guide. You need to go shopping in Egypt. That is the ultimate market hustle! Go to the red sea as well. I met a lot of tunisians in university. They loved Sfax, Sousse and Djerba!.You could pass for an Arab except for the tattoos..😂😂😂😂.Love your joie de vivre! Great you support the local economy.Middle East still has craftspeople that make things by hand. Like going back in time. Tunis is on my bucket list
There are plenty of Arabs with Tattoos. Its worth mentioning because most Arabs are actually Arabized people (meaning identifying as Arab and speaking the language despite not genetically being arab) there is a wide variety of Arab Phenotypes (black, white, blonde, ginger straight hair, kinky hair) so anyone could look Arab with the exception of far east Asians
I'm not sure about the prices tbh but it's safe to assume that you've unfortunately been taken advantage of, at the very least, once during your trip to Tunisia. I mean, the locals are also affected by extremely pushy vendors and maybe higher prices, but it seems like tourists are way more affected.
oh absolutely! Just like every other tourist market, but these videos I film for fun and fun only. :)
Tunisie its beautiful place with beautiful People we are not thiefs, its touristique place so thé princes are différents. Stop to speak like that.

Hey Chris! If you're still gonna be in Tunisia for several days I recommend going to the south ( it's far from Tunis though about 6+ hours if you're going to Tozeur. ) specifically if you like deserts and if you're a star wars fan (some of the scenes of the first movies, were filmed in the desert somewhere between Nafta and Tozeur, and some of the decorations of the movie are still there in a small area.). Djerba Island is also in the south and it's super well known for its beaches and resorts. It also has a very old famous synagogue. Many places in Djerba were just classified in the UNESCO world heritage about maybe 2 to 3 weeks ago. I love the north of Tunisia as well (many forests + beaches) but I think it needs more planning since it's not very touristy (Tabarka is an exception though and it has probably the fanciest hotel in the country called La Cigale)
The most touristic areas are the coastal cities and towns in the east ( fancy hotels, beaches...). Hammamet and Sousse (and Djerba in the south) are by far the most touristic places in Tunisia. There's a lot to discover in Tunisia but if I'd pick just one more location I'd pick Tozeur and the surrounding areas or Djerba but that's my personal opinion as a Tunisian guy that actually visited all of these places. I'm sure others might have a different opinion, it's really very subjective. If you have more time, I suggest you visit all of the mentionned areas.
Thanks a lot, I will definitely try to visit before leaving! I'm in a beach town now and it is amazing! I can't wait to show you guys soon!
Bravo. Tu as bien tout dit.
Sousse
25:08 he said zeyd maak which translates roughly too, you're the best (for tunisians im doing a semantic translation not the literal translation)
some older guys like to wear the chachia all the time. it's not that popular with younger generations, but they may wear it for example with the "jobba" or other traditional clothes during events centered around traditional clothes (like during one day in a marriage ceremony or on the traditional clothes day in Tunisia). fun fact: we also call the mantle of an octopus "chachia"
u have a tunisian look , welcom to tunisia

And look at him mode hunting at 40:27 and 40:57 . Lol😅

Hi, I’ll be visiting Tunisia near the end of October. I’ll be in Tunis, Sidi Bou Said & Mahdia for my birthday. Enjoy! I’m looking forward to the food and culture, but most of all the beautiful beaches with my Habibi.
Welcome to tunisia enjoy your holiday happy birthday in advance 🎉
Welcome to Tunisia ma'am and i hope you enjoy your Time here and also happy birthday 🎂🎉
Enjoy mahdia, best city in Tunisia 🥰 my city that I already miss.
@@rabebbouchnak639 Yiaschek
When I was in the Medina many times, I bought a lot of products and clothes, and I was naturally not bothered by the price because the people are good and work hard despite the difficulties of life, and they give you the opportunity to discuss the price, and this is everyone’s right and with complete freedom.. Then I went to Sidi Bou Said. The scenery was so beautiful at the highest point that I spent 3 days there between bathing in the sea and going out for a walk at night. I have a program to visit the Douz International Desert Festival in the winter....In Tunisia, you feel peace, freshness, and enjoyment of life.
I am watching this vidéo cause I am in love with a tunisian man and I want to know his culture.🥰😍
chachia is a traditional tunsian piece of clothing that men and beys(kings) of tunisia used to wear it everyday but nowadays since the fashion sense changed a lot its not fashionable anymore so teenagers and ppl dont wear anymore except for some eldery people who still stick to traditional clothing.. they do wear it on special occasions and holidays tho like weddings and thour etc..
Thanks so much for that info!
"Ali Baba and the forty thieves" is a folk tale from the "One thousand and one nights".

wow Tunisia is very similar to jeddah, we call the old town "Al-balad" which is also the name meaning as madina, also we have Makkah gate in jeddah al Balad.
Or you can say Jedda is similar to Tunis , because Tunis is much older than Jedda

Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" is a folk tale in Arabic added to the One Thousand and One Nights in the 18th century by its French translator Antoine Galland, who heard it from Syrian storyteller
Are you going to Hammamet ?
That shitty view is a known scam. Lots of those hustlers everywhere in the medina and outside of it, hunting tourists and basically following the same script... Looking friendly, wanting to show you around for free and keep insisting about the "panorama view" and the "special exhibition" (which is just a scam shop)... Then that first guy by the door tries to sell you some crazy overpriced carpets, even offering to ship them anywhere around the world. This time he didn't push because of the camera and because he felt Chris wasn't a worthy target, usually he would drown you in carpets 😅 👎After all of that done, the hustler will try following up by another scam shop 😅before finally asking for a tip. So much for a free tour lol.
Crazy! I hope other people watch this and avoid that!
I am Tunisian and I do not buy anything from those greedy merchants.
It's annoying to see how they scam tourists.
Your Latino faded completely away and you were suddenly an authentic Tunisian man 😮
