    This is the best video on how to be an injector!! I’m an ER nurse for 12yrs now looking to be an aesthetics nurse by the new year. Part time if anything. Most of the injectors I know got on the job training. Which I’m having a hard time doing looking for someone to shadow but a coworker of mine is going your route so I’ll probably be doing my injections there until maybe I open a spa some day. Who know thanks for the info

    Hi Nada thanks for the informative video! I really admire your journey in the business and I hope it will turn out the same for me.
    I am an RPN currently doing bedside and will be taking the botox and fillers foundations course next month.
    I have some questions, hoping you could help me out...
    1. What are the steps to opening up your own clinic? Was it expensive? Did you start small and eventually upgraded to a larger clinic?
    2. Is it expensive to hire a medical director MD or NP as a contractor? How much?
    3. Salary of a nurse injector employed in a clinic VS. nurse injector owning a clinic?
    4. How did you get hands on experience after graduating the 2 day course? I know we cannot order product until we have an MD to open an account.
    5. Where do you order all your products such as syringes/botox/fillers?
    Im sorry its long, im so new to the industry and would really appreciate your feedback!

      That’s a difficult one for sure! Word of mouth, finding cosmetic physicians and NPs in the area using google and reaching out to them, even reaching out to local injectors and finding out who their MD is works (majority of MDs have many nurses), also often the injection school will have a small program where they’re connect injectors and MDs.

    • @nadathenurseinjector

      Hi! Most courses require you to have your license first, especially if you’ll be doing hands on practice. That said, most of your growth as an injector will come from taking initiative and learning on your own so always a good idea to get a head start on that. Just understanding detailed facial anatomy and physiology alone with put in a great position.

    Hey!
    I have a question related to the courses that are offered. I see that Centennial College has it (roughly 112 hours), and so do other places like APT (2 days). Do you know the difference in these? Like is one better than the other, or does one give you a wider certificate?

    • @nadathenurseinjector
      @nadathenurseinjector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally speaking the colleges have more of a medical aesthetics course that covers some content related to Botox and fillers but no actual hands on with love models. So I would call and ask but I’d think that the 2 day courses hold more substance from an injector stand point.

    Great video!
    I read on the CNO website that RNs and RPNs must collaborate directly with a NP or physician to inject botox. Does this affect your practice since you decided to work independently?
    Also, do you know if being an experienced cosmetic injector in Ontario would make you eligible to inject in the US as an RPN? Or would you likely have to go back and obtain your RN degree?

    • @nadathenurseinjector
      @nadathenurseinjector  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You just have to find aesthetic doctors or NPs near you. Sometimes the injection training school can connect you with some, or just finding them online. Most of these prescribers have many nurses they prescribe for and are always looking for more nurses to be medical directors for. It’s important to network in this industry!

      @@nadathenurseinjector I am confused on how this process works, I've done research for days trying to find how medical directors are allowed to prescribe in ontario but I have not had much luck on the internet. I would really appreciate if you could answer these specific questions: Does the medical director have to work in your medi spa to be able to prescribe? do you need the MD to do the consultation with patient before prescribing? if they dont need to be present for your practice to operate and they dont need to do the initial consultation, how do you get the orders? do they sign the directive for the services done in that day at the end of the day? or are you requesting the directives to be signed as the services are done? • @nadathenurseinjector
      @nadathenurseinjector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rubyardiles01 So you would hire the medical director as a contractor basically for your clinic. They don’t have to be there in person. I know some nurses who have never even met their medical director in person.
      Some medical directors will not require you to consult them for patients and just give you the directive. Some will see your clients quickly via FaceTime or Skype to clear them for the procedure.
      Some medical directors just sign your charts after the fact + medical directive (basically your order) others will do the consult and sign it and that’s it.
