there is something between failure and
    0:08
    success that actually makes success
    0:27
    [Music]
    0:37
stop putting out same repeated content
    0:39
again and again in the name of use
    0:41
i don't blame that content kyuki
    0:51
but that is something which is the best
    0:54
thing about at least my relationship
    0:55
    with failure
    1:00
i love failing at a low level because it
    1:03
teaches me so much to win at the high
    1:05
level and this is something that i spoke
    1:08
about in a podcast with ishani how does
    1:10
    one prepare for failure
    1:15
it's like how does one prepare for the
    1:16
first examination of their life or the
    1:17
first interview of their life or the
    1:19
    first
    1:20
    date of their life
    1:27
nothing will be equal to the actual
    1:29
experience of doing it for the first
    1:30
    time right
    1:31
    the same thing with failures
    1:45
that you do not know how to act you just
    1:48
    crumble
    1:49
so the best way of actually dealing with
    1:52
failure is to get comfortable dealing
    1:54
with failure and a good way of getting
    1:56
comfortable with dealing with failure is
    1:58
    to practice failing
    2:05
    but if you are
    2:07
in your 20s in your 30s
    2:09
    in your late teens
    2:11
    and
    2:12
    failures
    2:14
    it almost feels like
    2:16
    a fail
    2:17
it paralyzes you then here are five
    2:19
    steps that will
    2:47
and that period is an important period
    2:48
for you it will also be a heart period
    2:50
    like in yeah
    2:52
    period
    2:56
    live with your emotions
    3:00
i try and write down whatever i'm
    3:02
feeling i try to record my voice
    3:04
whatever i'm feeling i try to even
    3:05
record videos whatever i'm feeling not
    3:07
    share it with anybody else
    3:09
    but it is
    3:36
it may happen in a day it may happen in
    3:37
two days it may happen in two weeks
    3:40
give it time that's totally okay
    3:44
    because now you
    3:47
and that is when step two starts which
    3:49
    is
    3:50
now begin to think of this failure in
    3:53
    your mind again
    3:57
    objectivity upon
    4:13
    visualize your failure
    4:14
    for example let's say
    4:17
interviewed it went brilliant and you
    4:19
were so confident you will get it but
    4:22
    you got dejected
    4:24
    and you were like
    4:25
    broken shattered
    4:37
you allowed it to happen but now when
    4:39
    you're tired of that
    4:41
    you're like okay
    4:42
let me go back to the interview date
    4:45
let me go back to the interview time let
    4:47
me go back to that interview setting let
    4:50
    me
    4:50
    visualize myself
    4:52
    not as me
    4:54
but as a third person watching me
    4:58
and now begin to see that
    5:01
    all over again
    5:02
and when you find yourself in that step
    5:06
    3
    5:07
    step 3
    5:10
    [Music]
    5:53
    how will i change myself
    5:56
how will i change my approach
    5:58
how will i change my world view
    6:01
    18
    6:25
what are the truths that i believed in
    6:26
that i now know are not true
    6:29
what are the lies that i believed in
    6:31
that i now know are not lies and how
    6:34
will i change because of this
    6:49
if you genuinely want to be true to
    6:51
    yourself
    6:52
is when you move to step four and step
    6:55
    forward
    7:00
    what
    7:15
but now i have to get out of where i am
    7:20
remember failure is a stepping stone to
    7:22
    success
    7:24
    stepping stone
    7:25
    right
    7:26
and that is step four which is
    7:56
this was your dream job think of the
    7:58
smallest thing that you can do
    8:01
to get you out of that
    8:03
towards where you want to be
    8:05
now towards where you want to be
    8:07
    is something that needs clarity
    8:09
    yeah
    8:10
    you see job capital
    8:23
you have figured what you can change it
    8:26
could be something in your resume
    8:27
something in your profile something in
    8:30
the kind of companies you're applying
    8:32
for the kind of roles that you're
    8:33
applying for the kind of people that
    8:34
    you're connecting with could be
    8:37
and that is the change that you execute
    8:39
    chai jitnam
    8:40
it could be a linkedin connection to
    8:42
someone it could be a cold email to
    8:44
someone it could be sending a thank you
    8:47
to the recruiter for their feedback
    8:49
    anything
    8:50
but one small step that you will take
    8:53
to get yourself out of where you are
    8:56
towards where you want to be
    8:58
    and then finally step five
    9:00
    show up
    9:01
    every
    9:02
    single
    9:03
    day
    9:05
    show up every single day
    9:19
    now
    9:20
you have to just do that
    9:57
unless you have the way of dealing with
    10:00
the failure that comes with it
    10:03
and that brings me to the last point
    10:04
that i wanted to share practice failing
    10:15
because the more and more comfortable
    10:16
    you get with failing
    10:18
the more you know how to deal with that
    10:20
failure and that becomes the stepping
    10:22
    stone to success
    10:23
    it is not
    10:24
failure that leads to success it is a
    10:27
    reflection
    10:28
on that failure that leads to success
    10:32
    and yay mega formula
    10:34
    failure
    10:35
    plus reflection
    10:37
    equals success
    10:39
    is
    10:40
the way to deal with failure
    10:42
    liking a reflection
    10:52
and that happens when we are comfortable
    10:54
with failing so every single day
    10:57
do something at a small scale low key
    11:00
where you know you will fail smile at a
    11:02
    stranger in a elevator
    11:04
the next time you are in a lift koi
    11:07
    in sana
    11:09
wish them good morning good afternoon
    11:15
it's quite possible they will not even
    11:17
reply back if they reply awesome you
    11:19
feel good about yourself but if they
    11:20
don't you will know how to deal with
    11:21
    failure
    11:25
will actually start making you more and
    11:27
more comfortable with failing and when
    11:29
every time you fail you will not be like
    11:33
an opportunity to reflect i will only
    11:35
    now become better
    11:37
at what i wanted to do because um
    11:41
what are the truths that i now know are
    11:43
not truths what are the lies that i now
    11:45
know are not lies and how am i going to
    11:47
change because of that and imagine
    11:51
    whoever had a failure reflect
    11:54
how awesome will you get how awesome
    11:56
    will you become
    11:58
    and that's all
    11:59
that failure serves as a purpose for
    12:02
it's to help you become a better version
    12:04
    of who you are
    12:05

@warikoo This is exactly what I wanted at this point in time. I am appearing for interviews and due to so many rejections, I was feeling so low. I know eventually with time I'll learn from these failures and do well in future interviews. But I needed someone to tell me that, It is okay to feel low. And just keep doing what you are doing. Just show up every single day. And eventually, you will get what you dream of.

Thanks Ankur. I know you from your Quora post about losing weight, reaching 10% body fat, building muscle - all at age 31. I was 25 when I encountered it. It inspired me as well.
I completely agree with you on how to deal with failures. While you already said everything in your video, I think moving on from failure is also important for success. So failure+reflection+move-on is what all of us need to do. I know personally moving-on can itself be difficult. Although I think will it lead to success, not necessarily. But it will 100% lead you to become best version of yourself and to individuals hopefully that means success.
The change I'm currently struggling with is my argumentative personality. I'm learning to be okay with how slow the change is. I'm learning to take it 1 day at a time. As you said, show up. I'm being mindful and learning to get out of my own way and not being too hard on myself. Your videos have helped tremendously!

Under reflection itself comes moving on, you can't reflect if you are stuck in the failure, haina

    • @ArpanAsawa
      @ArpanAsawa ปีที่แล้ว

@@anushkasirsulwar3580 maybe you are right. Reflection is a bit fancy word for me. Learn from the mistake and move on is how I'll simply put. Sometimes you can't see your mistakes, discussing failures with trusted mentors can also help in reflection.

If I fail more than you, I win - Seth Godin.
Also lately watching a lot of Tur Kalleyan, the Lyric or audio version cos its the full version of song currently, awesome music but there are great philosophical lines in the translated english lyrics.
    Thanks.

I would want to share my experience with failure. Please bear with me.
In 2016, I graduated and I started appearing for ACCA exams. I could clear some papers, but I couldn't clear the rest. In fact I attempted one paper 3 times and I still dint clear it. And I own my fault in this because I haven't prepared well more than what was required. In Dec 2017, I wrote two papers and that time in my opinion I worked hard that ever before to prepare for those exams and I even did well as per my opinion. But somewhere deep down I was anxious about my result and I was literally afraid every single moment. I was like 'this is the end, agar main pass nahi hui, then there is no meaning to life'. I dint enjoy every moment in that one month. In fact it was Christmas time and all that I had in my mind was 'Will I Pass?????' I even went to different churches in Bangalore with my aunt's mom in law and I was praying to make me pass, but the mistake was I dint pray to Jesus to help me if I fail. On Jan 15 2018, I received my result and I failed 🥺 I was dejected, angry, frustrated, broken. I even lost faith in God. My Mom was also upset that I failed. She was in my hometown that time and wasn't with me. But that same evening, my aunt, my uncle and my Nani sat with me and they told me that why couldn't I try going ahead with Masters. That is when my life changed. I thought to shift my direction towards Masters and excel in it. My parents, my Nani and my family supported me a lot in this. And today, I feel happy that I took the decision of doing Masters, because of which, I have scored good GPAs, I have come out of my comfort zone and overcome stage fear, I have cleared NET and SLET which are very important exams and very few are able to clear it every year and I even got a job immediately after my final exams even if it was the lockdown time. That is why I always thank God for that failure because of which I couldn't have achieved all of this. I have embraced that failure now 😊

I am 30 years old. I made so many mistakes in my 20s. I suffer from social anxiety disorder, which has greatly affected my career. I was careless, afraid, pessimistic. I am not blaming it to my mental illness, but I will admit I failed to face my fears. This has made my anxiety disorder worse. I tried to prepare for the government exams because I felt it would be more challenging to work in private sector . I failed in all my exams with flying colours. Looking back I feel I was never serious about my preparation, I was only trying to avoid my fears. I have 8 years of gap from my graduation (civil engineering) no one is going to hire me even for a private job now. I am clueless and feel like a total failure. I regret about how much time I have wasted . I kept myself trapped in my room for 8 years.I often feel that my best years to achieve meaningful and successful things are gone.

You have your own life and you have to decide how do you wanna live it
For someone 1 cr per month is happiness and for someone 10K per month is happiness
Live for yourself , not for society and lastly don't marry , simple i think you can easily earn for your family and your basic needs at any point of life

sir you unpacked the core of looking at failures and i felt it almost changed the dimension of looking and dealing with failures. Amazing!!! and its the
best approach i have ever heard of towards understanding and growing from a failure. thanks for sharing such deep introspective perspectives through your experiences.
something i often realize watching such videos of yours is
that its so deep and attached to a certain level of self awareness that if you are not yet in that level of consciousness you almost feel that this is some useless/nonsense, but later to realize when you are actually in that situation that this was such an amazing path and absolutely amazing work to guide you along!
thankyou for such such deep and profound thoughts.
