Cuomo has also freely acknowledged that on CNN you had to stick to a certain agenda. Because you had to stay on track with the “brand.” The guy on Newsnation is the real person. This was the very plea deal Hunter struck with the DoJ in August 2023 - that deal was struck down by a Federal Judge after an outcry from Republicans.

It really isn't about pardoning Hunter, it is about protecting what Hunter could say about the Biden family dealings. With blanket immunity whatever he did on behalf of the family is safe. Technically, Hunter could still come clean and rat out "The Big Guy" since the 5th Amendment is removed and he can't be charged again himself. If his sentence was only commuted, then he could plead the 5th in future cases.
