Asmon is such a rat when it comes to his defense of the roach. Never once have I seen him mention that the 2 of them are employed to the same company and have a vested interest in each other's success.

Pirate literally did his casts so everyone could get away. And some bosses like what they encountered are immune to some casts of spells. Not Pirates fault. He did what he could. The others kept stopping and being stupid when run is called. That's not Pirates fault. I play WoW. I know just like Asmon and Pirate that there's an invisible circle around every NPC of what their area of agro is. And those people (Not pirate) on the run did not pay attention to it. I saw the entire videos of the event. And Pirate was not being stupid. The others were.
Blizzard To slow all the enemies down trying to give everyone a chance to run away. WHICH some team members turned around and stayed. Not running. Agroing the enemies again when they were out of range. They had to stop and get agroed again. Not Pirates fault. I watched the videos. Absolute stupid team members. They lost their characters with their own bad choices.
@@barrycopithorneTank had agro for the most part, he did a max rank blizzard which is more mana rather than the tier one version which is significantly less mana, he could not stun the boss, sure but the boss wasn't the biggest threat at that moment the ads were. He definitely had more mana which can be seen from mana gem and from robes of the archimage I believe it's called. He used blink which is a high cost mana spell twice and used a frost shield to drain mana further instead of using either frost Nova or rank 1 blizzard to slow. But the thing is it's not even about that it's about his attitude and emotions toward the group and complete disregard of their death's, sure let's agree it's not his fault then should he be aggressive and demeaning to people that have just died no remorse was shown instead it was all me me me. This is why people are mad he was argumentative before they were even out of the dungeon which was a big character reveal for a lot of people. I just woke up the only reason I'm even replying but just tired of people being confidently wrong. Also yes run was called but run doesn't mean every man for themselves that's what "every man for themselves" means.

@ 6:45 to 7:00, It's not a case of "Oh we finally got him!", It's that Asmon has never been particularly sneaky or underhanded about his beliefs or opinions. He's never really said one thing while doing another, He's never been as much of a hypocrite as Pirate.
When Asmon does something 'wrong', People call him out for it, typically then Asmon makes a video and re-explains his position, shrugs, says "If you don't like it, too bad, move on." and moves on himself. He's controversial, But, He wears it, and he stands by it, And when he's wrong about something factual and is PROVEN wrong, He will admit it and say he was wrong. And if it's a matter of opinion and not fact, he'll just move on himself, which is exactly what he professes others should do.
Pirate though has lied to us about everything, pretending he's someone he's not, talking up all these modelistic behaviors and presenting himself as if he has them, and the first time a real controversy hits, He octuples down on being in the right, lying through his teeth, even as people are dragging up proof after proof after proof. He won't admit he fucked up, He won't admit he was a dick, He won't admit he could've done something to save them, And he's proving he's a hypocrite who stands for none of what he's professed to be. Here's the fault of each player nothing more nothing less unbeatable: first we have the tank tanking in a bad spot. Second we have the rogue pulling mobs by mistake. PIRATE FAULT is getting everyone killed. Doing everything in his power to leave everyone to die. Meaning wasting all his mana to have an excuse to not save everyone and just run away. And then becuz of that someone (can't remember which one it was i believe the druid?) Pulled even more mobs which got the killer killed which is becuz of the mage not helping and again the mage not helping also got the healer killed. Most of the fault for anyone actually DYING IS ON PIRATE. Not the tank not the rogue not the druid not the healer. The tank did his job when all of it happened he did a very good job at holding aggro while everyone's running away the druid did kind of a game job too until he aggroed more mobs at the end which got the healer killed and the rogue ... eh he could've done much better while running... it wasn't great. There. End of story. Let's move the fk on now. This is literally the situation explained properly and it's not debatable. Move on now. It's been too long. Lol

For any who have confusion about that, the reason "run" doesn't mean to save yourself ASAP with your own escape abilities, is because -- if it did mean that, it would mean that in any case where anything ever goes wrong in a raid and run is called, that there'd be certain classes who would virtually always escape (like mage with slows and blinks, rogue with vanish), and certain classes who would virtually always die (namely tanks).
In the Dire Maul event, the call to heal the tank did save the tank. If they all just ran and left as Asmon suggests, the tank was 100% dead since mobs and the boss are slowing him. It's true that going back to help the tank caused more inadvertent chaos (and Healer and Druid dying), but the crux of all this is if Pirate was doing anything to help along with them, then they'd all have managed the situation easily since situations like this are the whole point of frost mage.
I lost a lot of respect for him. Before he was guy with bad ideas. Now he's a loser who should apply for CNN lol

That whole pull was a shitshow, nobody but the healer acquitted themselves well at all. Fault was mostly on the tank/leader, who mad a shit pull too near to another pack and the boss path, then called for everyone to run, then changed his mind, just increasing the overall chaos and confusion, which of course is amplified in hardcore permadeath runs. The leader's #1 job is chaos control, and he totally failed at it. Of course Pirate could have used his last ounce of mana or a mana stone to run back and pop a Blizzard, that might have saved someone, so he looked bad too. Snupy of course butt-pulled at least one pack, which then resulted in the boss pull on top of that, not great, but at least he took responsibility for it, which made Pirate look even worse for getting defensive and not just owning it. This was just a classic WoW shitshow all around.
I get so annoyed by Asmons take that “redditors hate people who speak with authority.” First of all you’re like the most quintessential redditor there is. But also I think a lot of people who hates Thor started out liking him, or at least being indifferent. I think Asmongold's wrong on an obscene level about why people are mad, but he's not wrong about how Pirate handled the WoW raid. He was told to run, and he ran.
Now, Pirate built a whole fuckin' reputation on being "holier than thou" and "smarter than everyone else" and actively tried to put on an air of knowing everything at all times, yet obviously he didn't at that time. He should have said he was sorry and moved on, because he wasn't what he built himself to be, and didn't meet the expectations people had for him. He would probably argue he's not some all-seeing god or something, but that's how he portrayed himself.
He could have facilitated a safe escape. Instead he dropped all his mana to have an excuse and left. He could have said he was sorry about not attempting to even help his clan, but didn't. He built himself up to be a WoW god that could handle any situation, and he couldn't. Most people who know him aren't mad that he ran; most people who understand the game understand that the other people on his guild have more blame for it falling apart. People are mad because he dropped his mana on a blizzard and other bullshit, used that as an excuse, then put all his efforts into running off.
If I'm going to assume Asmon is defending him for reasons other than personal, I think Asmon is defending him because Asmon would have done the same. Asmon is out to look for himself, and if things seem sketchy, he's going to look at the situation to see if he can somehow benefit and then see how he can escape it the fastest. Which is fine; some people are like that, and those kinds of people are sometimes needed. Thing is; this is *not* how Pirate billed himself, and that is *why* people are pissed. If this was Asmon, people would think it's business as usual. When the WoW savant that can calculate five million variables in his mind and would never leave another guy behind does it, then afterwards continues with his holier-than-thou character he's built for himself, it's different.
