Maintaining Lichen Diversity in an Era of Global Change

Often overlooked, lichens are diverse, beautiful, and play critical roles in ecosystems. Currently, lichens face ecological threats that make their future uncertain in the Pacific Northwest. Jesse will focus on how large hot wildfires affect rare lichens and on strategies to keep our rare lichens present on the landscapes for the long term. He'll also talk about how community scientists help with this work by documenting lichen distribution.
