Tender dinos skill is "unlocked" by a character you meet a bit later into the first year. The skill works with an item given by this character!

Petting, feeding favourite foods and keeping the pen clean also help keep the dinosaur happy 😊

Tell them to follow you with your flute then it should pop up “this is your home now”!

Once you unlock Dapplewood forest, you can gather garlic. I find it sells for a good amount! Same with extra stone you get from breaking rocks.

As a dinosaur fan it’s funny watching mispronounce all the dinosaur names that seem simple to me 😂
Just so you know Styracosaurus is pronounced Sti rack oh Saw us
And Gallimimus is Gall e mime us
