I wish I could download mods (like your cloudy) but I’ve tried so many methods and I just can’t download them onto my wiiu and I don’t want to accidentally corrupt or destroy my wii u so all I can do is watch TH-camrs play mods :)

I love the gimmicks, graphics and backgrounds. The details were well drawn! I think the quality is on par with the real Mario and I would love to play this as a new Mario game!
My mad respect to Rimea for making such a fantastic mod, everything about it is truly amazing, there's only 1 downside and that was if there was all the worlds as extra content, but I can understand it'd be too much work.
Dry Dry peaks -2 slaps. Something about those extending block staircases just sits right with me. Love the design and details in this whole mod. Some of the textures are a little off looking but most of them look incredible.

Good mod, but with some major caveats. I'll try to be as fair as possible. The look is pretty amazing. Well done for using level themes properly, along with some new touches that are great. Level design is awesome. But. The biggest issue is that they're too long. As the mod goes on and the levels become even lengthier, it starts to become a chore to clear them and player fatigue sets in. You could have easily cut most of them by a third, in some cases even half, and they'd still be challenging *and* it would increase the level count by using the cut parts elsewhere. Overall I enjoyed my time with it, but it left me frustrated and annoyed more than I would have liked. Nonetheless, this is a brilliant mod, and probably the best such available for NSMBU. I hope you don't take offense to my critiques; it's really good, and just shy of being truly great.
Hey Mark, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I totally see where you're coming from. This mod's levels are roughly as long as the original game's, but they're also more difficult, which can be a frustrating. Most people who might be interested in playing mods like these are probably already very familiar with / good at playing the original game, so that difficulty was intentional. However, since this mod has been played by many people from outside the community that it was mostly aimed at, yours is not the first complaint along these lines that I've received. Looking back on this mod's levels, I agree that some are overly long relative to their difficulty, but it should be noted that I don't just make levels long for the sake of it. The way my levels (try to) introduce, evolve, and twist their mechanics, is something that can only be done through iteration across a large play area. I also tried to make sure every level in this mod used completely unique mechanics, to the point where, despite having half the amount of levels, the mod uses almost every level gimmick from the original game. Therefore, although I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think the "cut levels in half and make twice as many levels" thing would have really worked in practice. Either way, thanks again for your criticism. It's people like you who help me continue to improve my game design.
@@Rimea Thanks for taking critiques like a champ. The difficulty is quite high, yes. Even New Super Luigi U was a breeze compared to this. Although it did frustrate me, I appreciate how it made the experience last longer and tested my skills. You "get" platform game design, and I like that. There's a lot of junk out there that claims to embody classic platformer goodness which unfortunately falls flat. If you ever decide to make your own game and release it on Steam or Switch, I'd certainly lay down money for it.
For some reason when I try to load the game on my Wii U it goes to the Cloudy title screen but when I press A then the game glitches out and I have to restart my Wii U
Fun fact if u use an og smbu file and go to the levels in this game that are blocked of (worlds 1-3 to world 5) all the level names are something very weird
I think this is great but i think it falls short of the newer team games for a couple reasons. 1. No new power ups 2. No new bosses like newer wii 3. While the worlds have new music and different names and some different textures its still the same layout unlike newer wii. 4. Newer wii and ds are much longer 3. Point on newer ds. While the worlds mostly have the same layout as ds much more textures were changed compared to this. I still will say this is the best super mario bros u hack but because of less worlds and no new world map wii or significant changed world textures ds it keeps it below these two. Great work still this hack makes u feel original just like newer ds and wii did for their games. This is truly amazing.
