My first art exhibition | dance opening choreographed by Alice Pearl

So, I just held my first art exhibition - a dream I've been wanting to come alive for years now. Here is how the night opened. It was at this moment.. where I stood watching as my incredible friends opened up the exhibition with this dance piece.. that I realised "it's finally here".
Now let me talk about this item, the purpose and what it means. Firstly, I didn’t want this exhibition to be like anything done before. In the lead up, I purposely didn’t research how other artists ran their first exhibition an instead allows the Holy Spirit lead me with creative ideas. This dance performance was one of them. I also wanted this art exhibition to show who I am as an artist (creative/Jesus/dance) as well as incorporate the Word of God.
I matched each dancer with three of my biggest paintings displayed for the night. Expressing meaning behind it intentionally from the choreography, transitions, to body art, to costume, videography and music choices.
💃 My Dancers who are also some of my greatest friends - again a huge THANK YOU. To @roslyn who represented my floral piece called “Spring Forth”,
; @ashleigh who represented my “Monochrome” piece with fierceness and @claudia representing my biggest Seascape painting titled “Sunset Meets the Sea”. They not only learned the chorey in two rehearsals but they made the dance better than what I had in-visioned it to be and more. (I am in awe of how gifted you three are). Thank you for being the best to work with and making my crazy ideas a reality.
Lastly, thank you to the beautiful videography from my very own talented sister @adelle who captured the whole dance through the eyes of a genius! Love you so much!
