Watching this video (over and over and over again!) reminds me of one of the main reasons I took up the violin: passion, drama, great emotion, AND great control! Damn!
It’s amazing how fast the notes come and easy it is to not let the notes speak right, but Szeryng just lets it breathe and open up so naturally. He is truly my favorite.
A crucial issue is missing in the description: the fact that Szeryng was a [sic] Polish Jew who fled the Nazies. One of the high points of my life was seeing him in a concert with my father in Haifa (at the Rothschild Auditorium) back in the spring of 1974. Szerying played Vivaldi's double concerto (with Haim Taub as second) and then Szymanowski's concerto. I don't remember the rest of the program.
In 1946 he became a Mexican naturalised citizen, he had the string department of National University of Mexico. His father Simon was a businessman and amateur singer, he had two cinemas in Warsaw. His mother Salome was a concert pianist.
If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly

You are right. I am agree.
Compare with version with Guila Bustabo. Also in TH-cam. I thing she was the best but now in her home country and in the world completely forgotten!!!
Dana Šumová So I looked up Guila Bustsbo, and WOW!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the comment!

Thumbs down. Cannot stand this violinist - never have and never will. At least he isn't butchering Bach in this particular video...
Can YOU do better? No.
If you cannot stand the violinist, i would suggest to get the hell out of videos with his name on them
Lol, Aimson, you cant play anything, like that)))
