It's got a heavier sound....the vocals are different....and listen to Jen's drum track. Different version all together. Listen especially from 1:43 on.
No, he handles it well live. I've seen him do it twice and neither time sounded bad at all. I know he's not a perfect singer, either, but in this case I think it's just an effect that they added in that they thought was cool. I don't think it sounds so great either lol. But I'm pretty sure it's not a cover-up to make it sound better. If it was, I bet he would've just used autotune.

I love this mix but I don't llike that the lead guitar track is recorded in stereo but the rhythm is only on mono.
