  • Have you ever wondered or considered what the real differences between going to a reputable breeder and waiting a few months or years for a dog and going to get a puppy that is available now might be?
Well, wonder no more! We have now helped rescue two dogs from very different breeding standards and we have noticed some big differences between them that you might want to know about.
Do you get a guaranteed healthier dog from a well-documented and much-awarded dog breeder or are dog breeders that charge thousands for their dogs not actually doing anything besides following an arbitrary breed standard that a few people have made up?
We have discussed many times with other videos how bad the treatment of puppy mill dogs can be, including our own dog Eggnog, who was tied up for the first two years of his life and used as breeder bait. However, do they sometimes (probably accidentally) actually produce genetically healthier dogs?
Let's discuss what we have observed so you can be more aware of the differences a breeder can make in the health, and physical structure of your dog. Ultimately we hope that all dog lovers can advocate for healthier more humanely raised dogs from all breeders to reduce the suffering of dogs across their entire lives.

Trying to talk about these things since it seems like people often don’t find out until much later and we happen to be in a unique situation where we have both (that are rescues!)

Just mad because the Commercial Breeders business model is getting undercut by the Internet Age.

We’re mad? Honestly we don’t believe that any breeders actually do a good job breeding healthy, stable dogs and often ignore the responsibility of making sure their puppies are well cared for. This all feeds into dogs being abandoned in rescues by owners that were not prepared for the responsibility of dog ownership.

dog breeding is not a source of income. that is a puppy mill. a good ethicalbreeder rarely even makes moneyoff of it, health testing n stuff is so expensive
